Today we will seek Gods word to find that we have two bodies. A spiritual and a fleshly. That spiritual body that God created us in from the beginning. So important to understand the 3 world ages that was our first study in Genesis chapter 1 verses 1 and 2. Once we understand that, this will be so simple. So, let’s get started in Gen.2:7 and it reads.
Gen.2. [7] And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
So, God breathed our spirit into the flesh. But when does he do this? It is at conception. For that we go to Luke. And Luke 1:39 reads.
Luke1:39] And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;
[40] And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth.
[41] And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:
[42] And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.
[43] And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
[44] For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.
So, Elisabeth being also with child, with John 6 months, felt the Holy Spirit in Mary the day of Mary’s conception. John leaped in his mothers’ womb when he felt it also. Meaning John also was with spirit. So, with this we can conclude that God places the spirit in the flesh at conception. Paul teaches us about two bodies in a way that can’t be argued with. 1Cor.15:44 and it reads.
1Cor.15:44] It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
[45] And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
This last Adam is Jesus.
[46] Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
[47] The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
[48] As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
[49] And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
[50] Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
No flesh can go into heaven, it is for the spirit body only. But learn a mystery that most don’t know about.
[51] Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
[52] In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
This is for the 7th. trump when the true Christ returns. Satan comes at the 6th. trump. Don’t let anyone tell you that you are going to fly away. That is called being deceived. We that are alive in the flesh when Jesus returns will be changed into our spiritual body and no longer in the flesh. No flesh will remain on earth, it is over. And the millennium begins. Now he explains the difference between spirit and soul.
[53] For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
This corruptible is flesh. It must put off the flesh for the spirit to enter heaven. But this mortal (likely to die) is your soul, it must put on Immortality (deathlessness). Those who are saved.
[54] So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
Heb.12:29, Death is the Devil.
[55] O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
[56] The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
[57] But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Repentance is our salvation.
[58] Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
This word labor is works. We do our works for the Lord while in the flesh. We know also that our spirit is within us, in the flesh. But after our flesh dies our spirit returns to the Father. Ecc.12:7. And it reads.
Ecc.12:6] Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.
[7] Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
Paul Teaches us where are the dead in 1Thes.4:13. And it reads.
1Thes.4:13] But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
Asleep means dead. We should not sorrow (be sad) like an unbeliever yet, we should rejoice for they are with the Father.
[14] For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
Those that believe in him, John 3:16. “God brings with him”, that’s the army of all our loved ones that have passed on before us.
[15] For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
Prevent is precede, we can’t precede them because they are already gone. They are with the Lord immediately after death. Ecc.12:7.
[16] For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
At the 7th. trump, the last trump. Rise first, they are already there.
[17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Clouds, a large group. As Paul would say in another book “a cloud to run a foot race”. Or we would say, “have you seen that cloud of black birds”. And this “air” is spirit, our reason for coming here.
It does not mean atmosphere. G109 in the Strong’s.
[18] Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
Let’s go now to Rom.8:1 and it reads.
Rom.8:1] There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
[2] For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
In Christ we know that through repentance God forgives all sin.
[3] For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
[4] That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
[5] For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
Very important to understand here in John 4:24, and it reads.
John 4:24] God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Back to Rom.8:6
Rom.8:6] For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Walking with God every day in His word is pleasing to him. And when God is pleased with us, then he showers us with His blessings. Jesus taught us about the rich man and Lazareth in Luke 16:19 and it reads.
Luke 16:19] There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
[20] And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
[21] And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
[22] And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
[23] And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
He could see the other side of the gulf, and could talk with Abraham. This hell, and torments is shame. He was an Israelite. He knew the laws and prophets.
[24] And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
Again shame. And asked that “if he could have some of the Living Water”.
[25] But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
[26] And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
[27] Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house:
[28] For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
[29] Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
[30] And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
[31] And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
Jesus would be crucified and would rise from the dead. I wonder if they heard him then.
Let’s go to His throne.
Father, we thank you for your word. We ask that you bless all that love you. In Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
