Before we get started with today’s lesson, make sure to have your sacraments ready for Communion directly after this lesson is over. Let’s first take a look at this word Tabernacle in Hebrew. H5521 çukkâh pronounced sook-kaw’. {booth} {cottage} {covert} {pavilion} {tabernacle} tent. Feminine of H5520 çôk pronounced soke. {covert} {den} {pavilion} tabernacle. From H5526 çâkak pronounced saw-kak’. being the origin. We see here that Tabernacle is a booth, a protective shelter from the wilderness. Now, let me explain that Jesus was born on the Feast of Tabernacles six months after John the Baptist was born on Passover. Why or how is this so important? Jesus is our Savior, our wall of protection while we are here in the world or wilderness. Jesus was conceived on Dec.25 and born on Sept.29 the seventh day of Feast of Tabernacles. Check my work called Christmas 2024 in Topical Teachings at thechristministries.org. to learn more about how God’s word shows us the timeline. Jesus being born on Sept.29 brings us to Oct.7 for his circumcision. How is it that our enemies know more about our Faith than most Christians? Hamas attacked Israel on Oct.7 with much evil intent, and their families back in Gaza celebrated like the wicked people they are. Christ would eventually become the sacrifice for one and all time, that on repentance we can have forgiveness of sins. Now, the Feast of Tabernacles is the third of three times a year that God instructed his children to come to him. Let’s go to Deuteronomy 16 and verse 1 reads.

Deu.16:1] Observe the month of Abib, and keep the passover unto the LORD thy God: for in the month of Abib the LORD thy God brought thee forth out of Egypt by night.

The first month of the year in the Hebrew calendar began on the spring equinox. Do not confuse our calendar with the Hebrew calendar. Christ became our Passover. 1Cor.5 and verse 6 reads.

1Cor.5:6] Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
[7] Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
[8] Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Notice that leaven is symbolic of sin, this should make the rest of this study easier to understand. Deu.16 and verse 2 reads.

Deu.16:2] Thou shalt therefore sacrifice the passover unto the LORD thy God, of the flock and the herd, in the place which the LORD shall choose to place his name there.
[3] Thou shalt eat no leavened bread with it; seven days shalt thou eat unleavened bread therewith, even the bread of affliction; for thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt in haste: that thou mayest remember the day when thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of thy life.

We know that leaven is sin, we keep sin out of our house for seven days. I suggest we keep sin out altogether. Remember sin can come into our homes through T.V. and the internet. Do not overlook that we do this to remember that we came out of Egypt all the days of our lives.

Deu.16:4] And there shall be no leavened bread seen with thee in all thy coast seven days; neither shall there anything of the flesh, which thou sacrificedst the first day at even, remain all night until the morning.
[5] Thou mayest not sacrifice the passover within any of thy gates, which the LORD thy God giveth thee:
[6] But at the place which the LORD thy God shall choose to place his name in, there thou shalt sacrifice the passover at even, at the going down of the sun, at the season that thou camest forth out of Egypt.
[7] And thou shalt roast and eat it in the place which the LORD thy God shall choose: and thou shalt turn in the morning, and go unto thy tents.

This word Tent also means Tabernacle. H168. Seven in numerology means; Spiritual completeness.

Deu.16:8] Six days thou shalt eat unleavened bread: and on the seventh day shall be a solemn assembly to the LORD thy God: thou shalt do no work therein.

The Passover should be a solemn assembly. Now we come to the Feast of Weeks, or what we call today, Pentecost.

Deu.16:9] Seven weeks shalt thou number unto thee: begin to number the seven weeks from such time as thou beginnest to put the sickle to the corn.
[10] And thou shalt keep the feast of weeks unto the LORD thy God with a tribute of a freewill offering of thine hand, which thou shalt give unto the LORD thy God, according as the LORD thy God hath blessed thee:

This feast was not to be done solemnly but with Joy. Seven weeks is 49 days and at sundown it became the 50th day. Pente; 5, Cost; 10’s which gives us 50, Pentecost.

Deu.16:11] And thou shalt rejoice before the LORD thy God, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that is within thy gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are among you, in the place which the LORD thy God hath chosen to place his name there.

Notice it is not for the government to take care of the widow or orphan or the poor, but for God’s children to do so.

Deu.16:12] And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in Egypt: and thou shalt observe and do these statutes.

Again, to remember that we were bondmen (slaves) and that he brought us out of bondage from Egypt. Notice also to do these Statutes. Statutes are part of the law, and also became Commandments. But sacrifices and circumcision are called a blood ordinance. This being the only part of the law that was done away with because Jesus fulfilled this on the cross once and for all time, it would be sacrilege to do so now. Now we come to the third day of the year set aside by God for us to observe, The Feast of Tabernacles.

Deu.16:13] Thou shalt observe the feast of tabernacles seven days, after that thou hast gathered in thy corn and thy wine:
[14] And thou shalt rejoice in thy feast, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite, the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within thy gates.

Again, we are to take care of the poor and the needy, not the government. Want to know how to celebrate The Feast of Tabernacles, take care of the poor, the orphans and the widows in your community.

Deu.16:15] Seven days shalt thou keep a solemn feast unto the LORD thy God in the place which the LORD shall choose: because the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thine increase, and in all the works of thine hands, therefore thou shalt surely rejoice.

Rejoice, praise the LORD with all your heart. Here comes a commandment from God, listen really closely.

Deu.16:16] Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the LORD empty:
[17] Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee.

Do it with a giving heart, fathers teach your children. Mothers take care to step in if the father is unwilling or not around. These are our jobs as parents, to show our children the word of God and his commandments are for us to keep. The unleavened bread is symbolic of Jesus’s body. The wine is symbolic of his blood that he allowed to be poured out for our sins. Now let’s prepare the sacraments for Communion. A soda cracker will do for the unleavened bread. One soda cracker can be broken for up to six people. A small amount of wine, grape juice for the children is ok, keep it of the vine. I hold both in one hand, and place my other hand over them both and speak to the LORD.

Father, bless these sacraments for the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Communion

For Communion we will let our Lord and Savior do the talking. We go to Mat.26:26 and it reads.

Mat.26:26] And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.

We take the bread now and eat.

Mat.26:27] And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
[28] For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

We take the cup and we drink.

This is our Communion with the Lord, you may take this Communion whenever you feel. We here at The Christ Ministries will do this three times a year, but whenever you feel you need to, never hesitate, take of the Communion again. Let’s go to his throne.

Father, we thank you for your word and ask that you bless all that love you in Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
