Our title for today’s study is; Verses 1-33 The Jew and the Gospel. Before we begin, I would like to say I really don’t like this word Jew. Jew should be transliterated as Judaea, or as our brother Judah. When Judaea is used, it can mean any race that lives in the province of Judaea. When referring to Judah, it means of the house of Judah, one of the twelve tribes of Israel, Jacob. Romans 9 and verse 1 reads.
Rom.9:1] I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,
How can one lie to the Holy Spirit? Ananias and his wife Sapphira learned the hard way in Acts 5.
Rom.9:2] That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.
Let’s jump ahead to Romans 10 and verse 1 reads.
Rom.10:1] Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
[2] For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
Hosea 4 and verse 6 reads.
Hos.4:6] My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Back to Romans 9 and verse 3 reads.
Rom.9:3] For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
Paul is quoting Exodus 32:32. But let’s get a good look at what Moses was trying to intercede for the people here. Exodus 32 and verse 30 reads.
Exo.32:30] And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the LORD; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin.
[31] And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.
They had just made the golden calf. Here is what Paul was quoting, and verse 32 reads.
Exo.32:32] Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin–; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.
[33] And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.
[34] Therefore now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, mine Angel shall go before thee: nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them.
[35] And the LORD plagued the people, because they made the calf, which Aaron made.
Paul quoted Exodus 32:32 but did not let you know the Lord blots out sinners and not them that are chosen. Showing this chapter is dispensational. They were in the dispensation of blood ordinances, and not of this dispensation of Grace which is Christ Jesus. Back to Romans 9 and verse 4 reads.
Rom.9:4] Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;
God, law, and promises. For our inheritance.
Rom.9:5] Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.
Speaking of Jacob, Israel, the twelve tribes. Let’s go to Deuteronomy 10 and verse 15 reads.
Deu.10:15] Only the LORD had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all people, as it is this day.
[16] Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.
The house of Jacob, who’s name was changed to Israel, God chose over all other races, to be his people. His people that would be circumcised of the heart. This is the woman’s seed from the beginning in the garden, that from umbilical cord through umbilical cord. From Eve to Mary that the Messiah, Christ would be born. This is why I don’t like the word Jews. Back to Romans 9 and verse 6 reads.
Rom.9:6] Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
They are not all Israel, which are of Israel? He is talking about the Kenites. Jesus spoke to the Kenites in John 8. Let’s go to John 8 and verse 39 reads.
John 8:39] They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
[40] But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.
[41] Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
[42] Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
[43] Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
[44] Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
The first murderer was Cain and the offspring of Cain are called Kenites. This is the Serpent’s Seed, and comes from the first prophecy in God’s Word. Let’s go to Genesis 3 and verse 14 reads.
Gen.3:14] And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
Because Satan seduced Eve.
Gen.3:15] And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
They bruised his heels when they nailed them to the cross, and we will bruise his head at the sixth trump. Many people don’t understand the Serpent’s Seed, they think it is a theory. It is not, it is a fact, we just read it in Genesis 3:15. Their problem is they never read God’s Word with understanding, and are ignorant because of false teachers. Back to Romans 9 and verse 7 reads.
Rom.9:7] Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
Important to understand that not all of Abraham’s seed are Israel. But just those of Isaac through Jacob. Jacob had a twin brother, Esau who gave his inheritance away for a bowl of pottage. Esau also had twelve children, and they make up Russia of today. Isaac had a half brother named Ishmael. Ishmael also had twelve sons and they make up the Arabic nations of today. Between them all, that would be thirty-six nations of today. Abraham, father of many nations. But the Kenites, they call themselves of Judah, but do lie, and are the synagogue of Satan, Satan’s seed. We’ll talk more on this in a minute.
Rom.9:8] That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.
The children of the flesh are the children of Hagar, the Ishmaelites. They will become the locust army of the end times. Let’s go to Galatians 4 and verse 28 reads.
Gal.4:28] Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
[29] But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.
Speaking of the Ishmaelites, they persecute the children of God.
Gal.4:30] Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.
[31] So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.
Sarah cast Hagar with Ishmael out of her house. Hagar was mistress to Sarah, her bondwoman. Back to Romans 9 and verse 9 reads.
Rom.9:9] For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son.
You find this written in Genesis 18:10-14.
Rom.9:10] And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac;
[11] (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)
By election, his chosen, the Elect are not Elect by works, but that he called them from the first earth age.
Rom.9:12] It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.
You find that written in Genesis 25:23.
Rom.9:13] As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
This is written in Malachi 1 and verse 2 reads.
Mal.1:2] I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob’s brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob,
[3] And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.
Think dispensations, Esau would become the USSR in the end times. Yes, the wall fell in 1991, but you can see they are rebuilding it back now.
Mal.1:4] Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the LORD hath indignation for ever.
Here we have Esau’s name given to Edom, which means Red. This is the prophecy that Esau would become communist in the end times. They don’t like God, and persecute God’s children of Jacob.
Mal.1:5] And your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, The LORD will be magnified from the border of Israel.
We have talked about this above, but this is a good time to explain a few things. Abraham was father of many nations. Isaac’s half brother Ishmael had twelve sons, these became the twelve Arabic nations of today. These would be the Locust army in the end times. Esau had twelve sons, and they were what made up the USSR, or the Soviet Union. They have come back in strength today, and with the Arabic nations will create a Red/Green alliance and come against the twelve tribes of Jacob in these end times. Jacob had twelve sons and they are Israel of today. Not Israel the nation, but the house of Jacob, the Christian nations of today and the house of Judah, which took the surname of Israel of today. Isa.44:5, for they split. Note that God hated Esau while he was still in the womb. Why? Because of the first earth age, he didn’t care about his inheritance. He was of that wicked one, the Dragon who took a third of God’s children. We see by the words; One I loved and the other I hated, gives us a dispensational chapter. Back to Romans 9 and verse 14 reads.
Rom.9:14] What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.
God is not unrighteous, let’s go to Deuteronomy 32 and verse 4 reads.
Deu.32:4] He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
Rock is Jesus Christ mentioned here in the Old Testament. Back to Romans 9 and verse 15 reads.
Rom.9:15] For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
This is written in Exodus 33 and verse 19 reads.
Exo.33:19] And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.
Back to Romans 9 and verse 16 reads.
Rom.9:16] So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
By his mercy we have Grace. That is God’s love for all to come to repentance by his selflessness on the cross. Let’s go to 2Peter 3 and verse 9 reads.
2Pet.3:9] The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
The LORD is patient and wanting all to come to repentance. This dispensation is for Salvation. Back to Romans 9 and verse 17 reads.
Rom.9:17] For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.
This is written in Exodus 9 and verse 13 reads.
Exo.9:13] And the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
[14] For I will at this time send all my plagues upon thine heart, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people; that thou mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth.
[15] For now I will stretch out my hand, that I may smite thee and thy people with pestilence; and thou shalt be cut off from the earth.
[16] And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to shew in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.
Let’s go to Galatians 3 and verse 8 reads.
Gal.3:8] And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
All nations will be blessed through the seed of Jacob. Christ would come through this seed. Luke 3 gives you the genealogy of Jesus Christ. From Adam through Christ. Back to Romans 9 and verse 18 reads.
Rom.9:18] Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.
That’s right, God can harden the hearts or he can open the eyes. His will be done. Just like with Pharaoh, when he hardened his heart in Exodus 9 and verse 12 reads.
Exo.9:12] And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had spoken unto Moses.
The LORD will harden the hearts of those chosen, even the wicked chosen for his will to be done. Back to Romans 9 and verse 19 reads.
Rom.9:19] Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?
This is a question, let’s go to 2Chronicles 20 and verse 6 reads.
2Chron.20:6] And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?
Back to Romans 9, and the answer is given in verse 20 and it reads.
Rom.9:20] Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?
[21] Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
Out of the same lump of clay, the LORD can either make a flower vase or a bedpan. Let’s go to Proverbs 16 and verse 4 reads.
Pro.16:4] The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
Think God is not in charge? Of course he is. He will do his will for his Word will come to pass exactly as it is written. Let’s go to Isaiah 29 and verse 15 reads.
Isa.29:15] Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?
[16] Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter’s clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?
To show this is a dispensational chapter here in Romans, Paul uses this line of the potter’s clay from Isaiah. Read very closely.
Isa.29:17] Is it not yet a very little while, and Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest?
[18] And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.
[19] The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
The Holy One of Israel, Jesus again in the Old Testament. In that day is the LORD’s Day, the millennium. Back to Romans 9 and verse 22 reads.
Rom.9:22] What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
[23] And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,
Speaking of the dispensations which he had prepared for this world. This is called the Predestination of his Elect.
Rom.9:24] Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
This just said that the Gentiles will have Elect also. Let’s go to Revelation 21 and verse 24 reads.
Rev.21:24] And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
When nations is plural, it means the Gentiles. Notice these Gentiles have kings, meaning Elect. Back to Romans 9 and verse 25 reads.
Rom.9:25] As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.
Osee is Greek for the Hebrew name Hosea. Lo Ami, in Hebrew means not my people, Ami, means; my people. Lo Ruhama means; not loved, and Ruhama means loved. Let’s go to Hosea 2 and verse 23 reads.
Hos.2:23] And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.
Mercy is love. Back to Romans and verse 26 reads.
Rom.9:26] And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.
Let’s go back to Hosea 1 and verse 10 reads.
Hos.1:10] Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.
Paul is on a role with quoting scripture from the Old Testament. Let no man tell you that the Old Testament is for the Jews, that is a lie. How can you teach the New without the Old? Back to Romans 9 and verse 27 reads.
Rom.9:27] Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:
Esaias is Greek for Isaiah. Let’s go to Isaiah 10 and verse 22 reads.
Isa.10:22] For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness.
Understanding the difference between remnant and elect is important. The remnant brings forth the truth from generation to generation. They were chosen in the first earth age for that reason. The elect, like the remnant, were chosen from the first earth age to be here in the last days to be delivered up to the antichrist. This word remnant here in Isaiah is said for the Elect. Back to Romans 9 and verse 28 reads.
Rom.9:28] For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.
The seven years of tribulation in Daniel were shortened to 5 months. Jesus said in Mark 13 and verse 20 reads.
Mark 13:20] And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect’s sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
Now let’s go to Revelation 9 and verse 1 reads.
Rev.9:1] And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.
[2] And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.
This is the time in which we live today. This is the fifth trump, the smoke that rises out of the bottomless pit is the spirit of the antichrist. You can see how evil this world has become. The first beast that rises out of the people, the one world order, receives his power from the spirit of the antichrist.
Rev.9:3] And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
This is the Islamic terrorist, part of that Red/Green alliance we talked about above. This is the locust army.
Rev.9:4] And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.
Only those who do not have the Truth of God’s Word sealed in their foreheads, their minds.
Rev.9:5] And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.
Shortened here to five months. Drop down to verse 10 with me, and it reads.
Rev.9:10] And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.
Twice given for emphasis. Five months has the Lord shortened the time from seven years. Remember, this chapter in Romans is dispensational. Back to Romans 9 and verse 29 reads.
Rom.9:29] And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.
Remember dispensations. Let’s go to Isaiah 1, talking about the end times, and verse 7 reads.
Isa.1:7] Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.
Look at the Christian nations of today, prophecy being fulfilled every day.
Isa.1:8] And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.
Look at Jerusalem today. Prophecies.
Isa.1:9] Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.
The Sodomites have made an alliance with the Red/Green of today. Talking of the seven thousand that never bowed a knee to Baal in the first earth age. These are his Elect of today.
Isa.1:10] Hear the word of the LORD, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.
Give ear to the Word of God, it will happen exactly as it is written. Sabaoth is Sabbath, Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath. Back to Romans 9 and verse 30 reads.
Rom.9:30] What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.
The Gentiles not having the law, they now have grace through faith. When we bring them to God’s Word, you are bringing them into the law.
Rom.9:31] But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.
[32] Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
Jesus is that stumbling stone for the Jews. Because they didn’t believe, though it was written, that the Messiah would come.
Rom.9:33] As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Let’s go to Psalms 118 and verse 22 reads.
Psa.118:22] The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.
They couldn’t accept the Messiah, The Christ, they crucified him instead. Rom.9:33 above said; as it was written, we find that in Isaiah 28 and verse 16 reads.
Isa.28:16] Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
The Jews who do believe will have salvation also. I really hate this word Jews. It should have read as Judah, or house of Judah. But for the sake of this lesson, I must read it as it is written in God’s Word. Let’s go to his throne.
