Today we study the 7 seals. What is a seal? A seal is knowledge placed in the forehead, your mind. And with that we have the truth of God’s word, that key that opens doors that no man can shut. We will see today that Jesus taught these in Mark 13 while he was yet with us in the flesh. Rev.6 and verse 1 reads.
Rev.6:1] And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
The Lamb that was found to be the only one worthy in chapter 5. The Lamb of God, Jesus crucified.
Rev.6:2] And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.
These seals are not in chronological order, but rather in the importance of knowledge. Let’s look closely at this bow. Remember in Rev.4:3 I told you not to forget that verse and we would come back to it. And it reads.
Rev.4:3] And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.
This rainbow is the Shekinah Glory of the LORD. Now, here in Rev.6:2 we have a bow, but it is not our Christ but the antichrist. We look at this word bow in the Strongs’, G5115 Toxon, and it means; a cheap fabric imitation. This first seal is the knowledge of the antichrist comes first. Now let’s go to Mark 13 and pick it up with verse 5 and it reads.
Mark 13:5] And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:
[6] For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
Back to Rev.6 and verse 3 reads.
Rev.6:3] And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.
[4] And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.
This red horse is the war horse. Don’t overlook that it is given power from the antichrist to make war. Now what did Jesus say concerning this. Mark 13 and verse 7 reads.
Mark 13:7] And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.
Hope you are seeing how Jesus is giving us the seals here in Mark 13. Back to Rev.6 and verse 5 reads.
Rev.6:5] And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
[6] And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
This would be Israel being spoiled today. Hurt not the oil, Truth. Hurt not the wine, Christ blood for our sacraments. Remember Satan is standing in Jerusalem calling himself God and the whole world whores after him, giving the sacraments to him instead of God. 2Thes.2:1-4.
Rev.6:7] And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.
[8] And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
This Hell is the only place in God’s word that you find the holding place for the fallen angels. They will be turned loose at this time. This famine we find in Amos 8 and verse 11 reads.
Amos 8:11] Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
Prophesied in the Old Testament that not hearing the Word of the LORD will be the famine of the end times. But what did Jesus have to say about this? Mark 13 and verse 8 reads.
Mark 13:8] For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.
These are the beginnings of labor pangs. The beginning of the end. Back to Rev.6 and verse 9 reads.
Rev.6:9] And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
This word testimony is Martyr, G3144. But I want you to notice where they are. They are not in a hole in the ground but they are with the father in heaven. Let’s go to Ecc.12 and pick it up with verse 6 and it reads.
Ecc.12:6] Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.
In other words, when we die.
Ecc.12:7] Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
Now, this fifth seal is a time for God’s elect to have their eyes and ears opened. Same as the fifth trump. From the fifth seal on they will line up with the trumps. Back to Rev.6 and verse 10 reads.
Rev.6:10] And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
[11] And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
These are God’s elect killed for their testimony against Satan. Let’s see what Jesus had to say about this in Mark 13, and verse 9 reads.
Mark 13:9] But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.
This word testimony is to be a presumed derivative of G3144 Martus where we get our word Martyr from. Let’s see what this says in the Strongs’. 1. those who after his example have proved the strength and genuineness of their faith in Christ by undergoing a violent death. Back to Mark 13 and verse 10 reads.
Mark 13:10] And the gospel must first be published among all nations.
[11] But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
This is the only time the unpardonable sin can be committed. And only God’s elect could commit the sin when they are delivered up. I don’t think anyone would or could, it is our destiny.
Mark 13:12] Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.
Misunderstood by many, this is simply saying that our loved ones will deliver us up to Satan because they are deceived and think he is Jesus. They do this out of love for us.
Mark 13:13] And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
We will be hated because we call ourselves Christians, Christ men.
Mark 13:14] But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
Jesus just brought Daniel into the New Testament. Don’t let anybody tell you that the Old has nothing to do with the New. They are ignorant and should not be listened to. Now, what was just said here? Jesus was talking about Dan.9:27 and it reads.
Dan.9:27] And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
Saying the Desolator is standing in Jerusalem, in the midst of the week. This week is the seven years of tribulation. Satan comes in the middle of the week and takes the sacrifice and oblation (the oil and the wine) for himself. Satan is that abomination and those in Judea should flee to the mountains, or countries surrounding. Back to Mark 13 and verse 15 reads.
Mark 13:15] And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:
[16] And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.
No time to get what you think you need, the seventh trump comes fast.
Mark 13:17] But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
Having children is a blessing, this is not talking about that. What is said here is those that are deceived and deceive others face the woe. Meaning those that teach the rapture doctrine and have that mark in the hand (do his work) and those that have the mark in the forehead (are deceived) are complicit with Satan.
Mark 13:18] And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.
In the winter it means those harvested out of season.
Mark 13:19] For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.
[20] And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect’s sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
We find in Rev.9 he shortened the time from seven years to five months.
Mark 13:21] And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:
You won’t have to be told when the true Christ comes, we are changed instantly into our spiritual bodies. 1Cor.15 and verse 51 reads.
1Cor.15:51] Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
[52] In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
At the seventh trump all shall be changed instantly into our spiritual bodies. And the fowls of heaven shall have a feast. Back to Mark 13 and verse 22 reads.
Mark 13:22] For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
[23] But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.
The LORD has told us all things, the question is, have you read his word? Back to Rev.6 and verse 12 continues with the sixth seal.
Rev.6:12] And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
The sixth seal, the sixth trump and the sixth vial is the coming of Satan. Notice there hasn’t been mentioned anywhere about us flying away or being raptured.
Rev.6:13] And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
The seventh seal comes fast, when they look for him not. Because they think he is already here. They have been deceived. What did Jesus tell us in Mark 13, verse 24 continues.
Mark 13:24] But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
We see there are two tribulations, the first is when Satan comes. The second is when the true Christ comes, and there is still no rapture spoken of here. Are you going to believe in some man or the Word of God? The sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not give her light because of the brightness of his coming. Jesus continues.
Mark 13:25] And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.
Spoken in Hebrews 12 and verse 26 reads.
Heb.12:26] Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
Back to Jesus speaking in Mark 13 and verse 26 continues.
Mark 13:26] And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
[27] And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
Those on earth and those in heaven, his elect shall be gathered together because our jobs are not done. We have the millennium to teach those that didn’t overcome the deception of the end times. Back to Rev.6 and verse 14 reads.
Rev.6:14] And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
This is that great shaking that will happen.
Rev.6:15] And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
Why do they hide? They have a good reason, let’s see in Rev.19 why they hide. Verse 17 reads.
Rev.19:17] And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
[18] That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
Back to Rev.6 and verse 16 reads.
Rev.6:16] And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
They pray for mountains to fall on them for deceiving God’s children into thinking the antichrist is the true Christ and teach them to fly away.
Rev.6:17] For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
I’ll tell you who is able to stand, those who have the word of God in their foreheads. Sealed, and with the gospel armor on. Let’s go to Eph.6 and verse 10 reads.
Eph.6:10] Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
[11] Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
[12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
[13] Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
[14] Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
[15] And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
[16] Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
[17] And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Those who read his word and are not deceived. Those who have the seals in their minds and know the truth. Keep studying with us here in Revelation where it is made known. That was a great study today, letting God’s word do the teaching. Let’s go to his throne.
