Today we finish the great book of Revelation. We have come a long way in God’s word, from Genesis to Revelation. Rev.22 and verse 1 reads.
Rev.22:1] And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
This river is the Holy Spirit, proceeding out of the throne of God and the Lamb should be our biggest hint. This is the Trinity, the full Godhead, or Triune Godhead, whichever you choose to call it. We here at thechristministries.org will teach that the three are one.
Rev.22:2] In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
This is the same Tree of Life from the garden of Eden. Showing us here that Christ is in charge of the healing. These “twelve manner of fruits” are the twelve tribes of Israel. The house of Jacob will be working with Jesus to heal all nations.
Rev.22:3] And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
Always look for the Lamb and know it means God who has sacrificed himself. Let’s go to John chapter 3 and pick it up with verse 15 and it reads.
John 3:15] That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
[16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
[17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
His plan from the beginning was Salvation for the whole world. This is the reason for the second earth age, that he himself would be the sacrifice that through repentance all sins can be forgiven to those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God. Back to Rev.22 and verse 4 reads.
Rev.22:4] And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
The seal of God in our foreheads was prophesied long ago in Eze.9, see if this doesn’t sound like the book of Revelation. Verse 1 reads.
Eze.9:1] He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.
[2] And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer’s inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar.
These would be seven in all, one has an ink horn, but every man is clothed in fine linen which is the righteousness of the saints. In other words, for our works. Don’t overlook that they stand beside the altar of the Lord.
Eze.9:3] And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer’s inkhorn by his side;
[4] And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.
I came here for the reason of this “Mark upon their foreheads”. Let’s look at this word Mark. It is H8420 tâv in Hebrew pronounced Tawv. It is a lowercase t, meaning the cross for Christianity. The Strongs’ definition is; a. mark (as a sign of exemption from judgment).
Eze.9:5] And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:
[6] Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.
Judgement begins at the pulpit. He will send them out to cut the tares down and throw them on the fire.
Eze.9:7] And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.
Jerusalem has been defiled with the antichrist sitting on a throne claiming to be Christ. Have no pity on those who worship him.
Eze.9:8] And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem?
He will not change his word, he will pour out the vials. Now, we can see these seven angels are those who pour out the vials.
Eze.9:9] Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not.
Full of blood up to the bridles, for they are a wicked generation full of perverseness.
Eze.9:10] And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head.
[11] And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.
He has secured those with that mark in their foreheads and the sealing of God’s elect has been done. Back to Rev.22 and verse 5 reads.
Rev.22:5] And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
The Light was given for us in Gen.1:3.
Rev.22:6] And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.
We find this written in Amos 3 and verse 7 reads.
Amos 3:7] Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
After Revelation we will be going to the prophets. Back to Rev.22 and verse 7 reads.
Rev.22:7] Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
God is saying he comes quickly, and you are blessed for keeping his word. Meaning you must know his word, you must read and study his word.
Rev.22:8] And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
[9] Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
I have struggled with these verses, as we will see in a moment, this is Jesus. But I also know that God would never speak to anyone while they were flat on their faces, he would always stand them up. Job and Ezekiel are two examples. So, let’s take another look at what exactly was said. First, John has completed hearing all the words of the Angel and saw what will take place in the end times. Second, he is a fellow servant to who? To the Christians that follow the Word of God. Jesus, being the Word of God, counts himself as a fellow servant because he too came in the flesh fulfilling the word of the law and the prophets.
Rev.22:10] And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.
How many people would tell you that Revelation is sealed? Jesus just said Seal not the sayings of this book of Revelation. Revelation literally means to open or make known.
Rev.22:11] He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
Our jobs are to plant the seeds and walk away. Only the LORD can make them grow.
Rev.22:12] And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
This angel just said “I come quickly”, this angel is Jesus. The good and the bad will get their rewards as they deserve. The fact that he said “He comes quickly” means John has been taken back to Patmos, to 90 A.D.
Rev.22:13] I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
I Am is his Holy name, from Genesis through Revelation, he is the Word of God.
Rev.22:14] Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
For all races as said in chapter 21, all who will claim that Jesus is the Son of God.
Rev.22:15] For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
There will be no evil in the third earth and heaven age, all are cast into the lake of fire. Now, listen closely.
Rev.22:16] I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
Jesus finally just came out and said it has been him the whole time talking to John. Notice even the churches were mentioned with the Key of David here. Our studies from Revelations chapters 3 and 4.
Rev.22:17] And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
Uppercase Spirit, the Holy Spirit and the Bride which are one, say come. And those who have ears to hear, his elect. And those that seek his word and are athirst. Take of the Word and drink deep for he will fill your cup and it will runneth over.
Rev.22:18] For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
Teach the rapture doctrine or the anytime doctrine and you will receive all the plagues of this book. Mystery Babylon was an example for us.
Rev.22:19] And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Change one word of this book, God’s Word and you will not make it to heaven, you will die spiritually.
Rev.22:20] He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
