This is the second woman in the book of Revelation, the first was Mother Israel. This one today is called Mystery Babylon, Mother of all Harlots. Let’s get started Rev.17 and verse 1 reads.
Rev.17:1] And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:
This is after the vials are poured out, but we go backward in time. Keeping up with the subject and timing is the hardest part of Revelation. But we can do it.
Rev.17:2] With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
These kings of the earth are the one world order, communism. And the whole world is deceived. Fornication stands for Idolatry.
Rev.17:3] So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
Taken in the spirit back in time. This woman sits upon the scarlet beast which stands for royalty, this can only be the second beast, Satan.
Rev.17:4] And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
This fornication is said for Idolatry. They worship both the first beast, then the second beast which is Satan. This purple and scarlet colors are for royalty. She thinks she is something special. So, who is she?
Rev.17:5] And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
Let’s break this down. Mystery; kept secret from mortals. Babylon the great; prophesied long ago that in the end time Israel (Judah) would go back into captivity. And Satan is the king of Babylon. The mother of harlots and abominations of the earth; harlots are what God called the house of Israel and Judah in Jer.3 and verse 6 reads.
Jer.3:6] The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.
With every nation she went into the groves and committed idolatry.
Jer.3:7] And I said after she had done all these things, Turn thou unto me. But she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it.
Judah saw and committed idolatry also.
Jer.3:8] And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
God is a divorcee and now we wait for that marriage to the Lamb.
Jer.3:9] And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.
[10] And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah hath not turned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly, saith the LORD.
Knowing that there are two houses is very important here, the house of Judah is Israel today, and the house of Israel is America. Now, let’s put this in perspective. Mystery Babylon are the Kenites who claim to be the children of God, but do lie and are the synagogue of Satan. These are the serpent’s seed. Back to Rev.17 and verse 6 reads.
Rev.17:6] And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
Drunken with the blood of God’s elect who had the testimony of Jesus Christ, G3144 Martyrs.
Rev.17:7] And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.
Let’s begin with Satan that carries her. The her are the Kenites, the serpent’s seed or his children. The heads and horns are the 7,000 fallen angels and that governmental system he brings with him.
Rev.17:8] The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
Do not let this confuse you, it is very simple. First this “was, and is not”. Satan was free to roam the earth, Job would prove this. But then Jesus told him after the temptation in the wilderness to “get thee behind me”. This sent him behind the throne where Michael holds him until the sixth trump. Ascending out of the bottomless pit happens after the millennium. And then goes into perdition, up in smoke forever and ever. We then read those on earth that wonder whose names are written in the book of Life from the foundations of the world, meaning from the overthrow of Satan in the first earth age. The Katabole, G2602. And finishes with “the beast that was, and is not, and yet is”. Was is before Jesus sent him behind the throne, which is the “and is not”. But, this “yet is” means; at the sixth trump. Read it again if necessary, it is easy when you put the doctrine of men aside and just read the word of God as it is written. Let’s go back to Rev.17 and keep in mind the words of God, verse 9 continues.
Rev.17:9] And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
Mountains are nations, but wait, I thought that they were the seven thousand fallen angels. She, Mystery Babylon sits with the nations of the world because they are of the world. But they worship the second beast and his governmental system, this is spiritual as we will see.
Rev.17:10] And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
All these kings are Satan, just understand the dispensations. A dispensation is a period of time. Let’s look at this word dispensation. From the New Century Dictionary. The act of dispensing; distribution; administration; management; the divine ordering of the affairs of the world; an appointment or arrangement, as by God; an appointed order or system; a divinely appointed order or system. Now, five have passed, speaking of time, waiting on the sixth trump, he will come. And then he will come again after the millennium, but for a short time. Scholars talk about their being seven dispensations of time. I disagree, I think they are leaving out the first earth age, giving us eight dispensations. But maybe another time we can talk about that, back to Rev.17 and verse 11 continues.
Rev.17:11] And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
The eighth is the same as the seventh, this is Satan when he is turned to ashes from within. Eze.28:18.
Rev.17:12] And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
These would be the seven thousand fallen angels. Notice they have but one hour, meaning their allotted time on earth. This is the hour of the beast. The half hour that it is quiet in heaven after Michael has kicked them out of heaven.
Rev.17:13] These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
Giving the world that mark in their foreheads to worship the antichrist.
Rev.17:14] These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
You and I are called and chosen from the first earth age to stand against Satan in these end times. We stood against him then and with no sweat, we will do it again.
Rev.17:15] And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
This verse explains so many verses in God’s word, from the Old Testament through the New Testament. Don’t overlook that it is God who is explaining that the waters are the peoples, and Mystery Babylon sits on them, overcoming them with deceitfulness. The whole world is deceived.
Rev.17:16] And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
The Kenites pretending to be of Judah, but do lie, will have the seven thousand fallen angels hating them. A backfire if you will, but here is the reason.
Rev.17:17] For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
God has put in their hearts, their minds this in order for his will to be done. They never had a chance. Remember Jesus told us in Mat.5 and verse 17 reads.
Mat.5:17] Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
[18] For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
The word of God will happen exactly as it is written. This is the Lord’s will, he put it in their hearts and they never had a chance. Back to Rev.17 and verse 18 reads.
Rev.17:18] And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
This great city is Babylon, which means confusion, and the whole world is deceived by her. A great study when you put away what man has taught you and read what God is saying to you. Let’s go to his throne.
