As with Passover, it is my hope that all heads of households read this study with their families and take of the Communion afterwards. Please have your sacraments ready. A soda cracker will do for the unleavened bread, and a small amount of wine, grape juice for the children is Ok, keeping it of the vine.
To begin, Pentecost G4005 means; fiftieth day. It is the fiftieth day after Passover. Called Feast of Weeks (feast of harvest) before the crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ. Let’s begin in Exodus 23 where our LORD commanded Israel to keep three feasts a year in remembrance of the coming out of Egypt. The first, Passover, the second at the time of planting, Pentecost. The third at the end of harvest, the Feast of Tabernacles. Exodus 23 and verse 14 reads.
Exo.23:14] Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year.
All twelve tribes of Israel shall come to Jerusalem to keep these feasts. This is why here at The Christ Ministries we will observe Communion three times a year, it is a commandment from God.
Exo.23:15] Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:)
This is the Passover. Notice it says Abib and not Nisan.
Exo.23:16] And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field.
Here we have Pentecost called Feast of Harvest, and The Feast of Tabernacles called Feast of ingathering. Also notice we are to bring the laborers into the feast. It is for their part in the harvest that we observe the Feasts. Fifty days after the Passover, the barley was in harvest being the first fruits of their labor. At the end of the year was their last harvest for their labors.
Exo.23:17] Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the Lord GOD.
[18] Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread; neither shall the fat of my sacrifice remain until the morning.
We covered the Passover in Exodus 12. There we find how to prepare the sacrifice to the LORD. Do not use leavened bread. It represents sin. Burn with fire any of the sacrifices that were not eaten in the morning.
Exo.23:19] The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother’s milk.
[20] Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.
This angel is the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit that brings us together spiritually when we partake of the Communion.
Exo.23:21] Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him.
This should not surprise you that the Holy Spirit does not pardon transgressions. It is Jesus Christ, the Son that is Savior, not the Spirit. Obey the commandments of God, and repent for remissions of sins.
Exo.23:22] But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries.
This is speaking of the Word of God, his commandments and judgements. He will be our God and we will be his children.
Exo.23:23] For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will cut them off.
[24] Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images.
[25] And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
Do things God’s way and he will never leave us. God gave the land of the Canaanites to Israel. He also gave this land to his children, called America the land of Jacob. Isaiah 18 and 44:5. Now, let’s go to Acts 1 and verse 1 reads.
Acts 1:1] The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
Theophilus means; Friend of God. Christians. When we read Ghost, I want you to think Holy Spirit.
Acts 1:2] Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
Jesus was still teaching his disciples, who he now will send and call Apostles (sent ones). Don’t overlook Chosen, he has also chosen you for these end times.
Acts 1:3] To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
For forty days Jesus was with them, we have a timeline here.
Acts 1:4] And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
We heard the promise in Exodus 23:20.
Acts 1:5] For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
He said, stay here in Jerusalem until the Holy Spirit comes to you.
Acts 1:6] When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
The kingdom will be restored again to Israel at the second advent. This is why it is so important for us to understand our destinies for these end times. Jesus will correct them.
Acts 1:7] And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
[8] But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
For them it was not needed to know the time of the second coming of our Lord, it is written here for us to know that this Day of the LORD is coming. 1Corinthians 10 and verse 11 reads.
1Cor.10:11] Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
Back to Acts 1 and verse 9 reads.
Acts 1:9] And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
[10] And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
[11] Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
Jesus will return to the same place where he left them. To the Mount of Olives at the seventh trump. Now, let’s go to Acts 2 and verse 1 reads.
Acts 2:1] And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
[2] And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
This brings us to the fiftieth day after Passover, Pentecost or Feast of Weeks. We will now see that Exodus 23 comes to pass, that Israel will come from all over the world to Jerusalem to keep the feast.
Acts 2:3] And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
Let’s look at this word Cloven. G1266 diamerizō pronounced dee-am-er-id’-zo. And means; to be divided into opposing parts, to be at variance, in dissension. Or to distribute. When we use it before Language (tongues) here it simply means; to divide or part out in different languages. In other words; when the Holy Spirit speaks, everyone will hear it in their own language. Nowhere does it say it was unknown, or you would need an interpreter to understand babbel. Listen very closely because in the end times we will be delivered up and the Holy Spirit will speak through us.
Acts 2:4] And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
[5] And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
This word Jews should have been translated Israelites. Notice they came from every nation as Exodus 23 commanded them.
Acts 2:6] Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
His own language.
Acts 2:7] And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
[8] And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
Only the Holy Spirit can do this. He now gives many of the nations that these Israelites came from to observe Pentecost, or the Feast of Weeks.
Acts 2:9] Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
[10] Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
[11] Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
[12] And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?
[13] Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.
[14] But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
[15] For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.
It’s only 9am. Unlawful for an Israelite to drink in the morning.
Acts 2:16] But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
[17] And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God,I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
[18] And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
[19] And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
[20] The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
[21] And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Peter quotes Joel 2:28-32. I suggest that everyone read all of Joel 2, it gives the whole of the end times prophecy. Notice how it is meant for the end times. Now, I want to go to Mark 13 and verse 11 reads.
Mark 13:11] But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
This is why Pentecost is so important for us today. That cloven tongue that speaks through us when we are delivered up to Satan in the end times. To deny the Holy Spirit from speaking through you would be the unpardonable sin, only God’s Elect could commit this sin.
Mark 13:12] Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.
We learn in Hebrews 2:14 that Death is another name for the Devil. These family members are deceived and believe that the antichrist is the true Christ. These churches today have convinced them they are going to fly away, and out of love for you they deliver you up to your destiny.
Mark 13:13] And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
We put on that gospel armor and stand against Satan.
Mark 13:14] But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
The sixth trump comes before the seventh trump. Dan.9, 2Thes.2:4, 1Cor.15:50-55. Rev.6:1-2. The Holy Spirit is promised for all to understand in their own language when we are delivered up to Satan. As with Peter in front of them in Jerusalem, so shall we be delivered to Jerusalem. This is the Pentecostal tongue that all understand without an interpreter. No babbling, no confusion, just the Holy Spirit that all will understand.
Now, let’s prepare the sacraments for Communion. A soda cracker will do for the unleavened bread. A small amount of wine, grape juice for the children is ok, keep it of the vine. I hold both in one hand, and place my other hand over them both and speak to the LORD.
Father, bless these sacraments for the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Communion
For our Communion we will let our Lord and Savior do the talking. Matthew 26 and verse 26 reads.
Mat.26:26] And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
We take the bread now and eat.
Mat.26:27] And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
[28] For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
We take the cup and we drink.
This is our Communion with the Lord, you may take this Communion whenever you feel. We here at The Christ Ministries will do this three times a year, but whenever you feel you need to, never hesitate, take of the Communion again. Let’s go to his throne.
Father, we thank you for your word and ask that you bless all that love you in Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
