No one should come between you and God

MATTHEW 6

Let’s get started in Matthew chapter 6, and it reads.

Mat.6:1] Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

Don’t let your deeds be seen by those around you. Why? Who are you doing them for? Are you trying to be seen as a good person? Then you’re not doing them for that person, you have done it for yourself.

[2] Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

The Father rewards the wicked as he does the righteous. These are blessings or cursings.

[3] But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
[4] That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

Our rewards are judgements. Good or bad, we will receive a blessing or a cursing.

[5] And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
[6] But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

When I pray, I pray in my head and from my heart.

[7] But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
[8] Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

Prayer is between you and God, unless as a group which, in that case “whenever two or more are present, there I Am.” Now, Jesus is going to teach us how to pray.

[9] After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Holy is your name.

[10] Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

He is coming back at the 2nd. Advent. We should always pray that it be His will.

[11] Give us this day our daily bread.

That we have his Word every day.

[12] And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

Debts is G3783 in the Greek and means, sins or an offence. Let it read: forgive us our sins, as we forgive those that sin against us.

[13] And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

1Cor.10:13. Reads.

[13] There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

The Father never temps his children, but Satan does have the power to temp us, not only to those that are ignorant of his word, but Satan will certainly come after the Elect. Also pray to the Father in Jesus’s name. For we cannot come to the Father but through the Christ.

[14] For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
[15] But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

This may be hard for most of us, but Jesus just said we must forgive others or our sins won’t be forgiven. That is IF they repent, for no sin is forgiven without repentance.

[16] Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

When we fast, don’t look sad or ragged, we are not weak, but made strong in the LORD.

[17] But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;

Anoint thine head? Christ means The anointed one. As Christians, Christ men, we should anoint one another and ourselves. James chapter 5 can help you understand this. But for now let’s get back to Matthew.

[18] That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

Again, our blessings are seen by all. Openly.

[19] Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

1Tim.6:10 reads.

1Tim.6:10] For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Back to Matthew

Mat.6:20] But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
[21] For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

These treasures are your righteous acts. Your works. The only thing we can bring with us to heaven.

[22] The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

Single means, is clear G573. This light is Christ. And he should dwell in us every day.

[23] But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

Without Christ in us, then wickedness is in us. And how great an Evil.

[24] No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Mammon is money or gain. We either love God, or not, it’s simple.

[25] Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

Did not our Father feed them in the wilderness. Even so He will feed us in the end times. Amos 8:11 reads.

Amos.8:11] Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:

Back to Matthew and we continue.

[26] Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
[27] Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

Can you add one minute to your life? I don’t think so, but if anything, it can take away from it. i.e. stress.

[28] And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
[29] And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
[30] Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Having faith is so important to the Father. But what is this raiment? Putting on the gospel armor. For with it we can stand before Satan. Ephesians chapter 6 reads.

Eph.6:12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
[13] Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
[14] Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
[15] And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
[16] Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
[17] And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Always remember the Gospel armor. Read it whenever you feel Satan is against you.

Back to Matthew.

Mat.6:31] Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
[32] (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
[33] But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

God will always take care of his Elect in the end times. Bless God and he will always bless you.

[34] Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Love God and he will love you. Be in this flesh a faithful child to the Father for he knows what we need. And he will bless us through all trials that we go through in the flesh. Let’s remember 1Cor.10:13. That he will always show us a way out. Lets’ go to his throne.

Father, we thank you for your word and love you very much, in Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
