Our titles for today’s study are; Verses 1-11 Jesus and the Sabbath. Verses 12-19 Jesus chooses the twelve. Verses 20-26 The Beatitudes. Verses 27-36 Love for enemies. Verses 37-42 Judging others. Verses 43-45 A tree is known by its fruits. Verses 46-49 The house built on a rock. A great chapter today, Luke 6 and verse 1 reads.

Luke 6:1] And it came to pass on the second sabbath after the first, that he went through the corn fields; and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and did eat, rubbing them in their hands.

After the first sabbath, meaning after the Passover, being there are two sabbaths in that week. This will be a problem with the Pharisees, their problem is they don’t realize that Jesus is the high priest, and those who walk with him are priests also. Let’s go to Deuteronomy 23 and verse 25 reads.

Deu.23:25] When thou comest into the standing corn of thy neighbour, then thou mayest pluck the ears with thine hand; but thou shalt not move a sickle unto thy neighbour’s standing corn.

You cannot harvest his field, but you may eat of it. Back to Luke 6 and verse 2 reads.

Luke 6:2] And certain of the Pharisees said unto them, Why do ye that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days?

These Pharisees are bringing up the law to the Word of God, let’s see how this will work out for them. But first, let’s look at the law of the Sabbath. We find this in Exodus 20, the fourth commandment, and verse 8 reads.

Exo.20:8] Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
[9] Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
[10] But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
[11] For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

It did not say you cannot eat corn on the sabbath. It says to keep it Holy. Now let’s go to Exodus 31 and verse 12 reads.

Exo.31:12] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
[13] Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.
[14] Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
[15] Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
[16] Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
[17] It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

This shows us that this law is for Israel only and not for gentiles. Second, it is lawful to eat corn, even if it’s in your neighbor’s field. Let’s learn about this sabbath, it is no longer a day of the week. Let’s go to Matthew 5 and verse 17 reads.

Mat.5:17] Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
[18] For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Now let’s go to 1Corinthians 5 and verse 7 reads.

1Cor.5:7] Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

So you see, Christ became our Passover, our Passover Lamb, the blood ordinances were the only thing that Christ on the cross done away with. Fulfilling the law and the prophets from Matthew 5:17. Jesus will now show these Pharisees the difference between them and his disciples. Back to Luke 6 and verse 3 reads.

Luke 6:3] And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungred, and they which were with him;
[4] How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone?

Let’s go to 1Samuel 21 and verse 4 reads.

1Sam.21:4] And the priest answered David, and said, There is no common bread under mine hand, but there is hallowed bread; if the young men have kept themselves at least from women.
[5] And David answered the priest, and said unto him, Of a truth women have been kept from us about these three days, since I came out, and the vessels of the young men are holy, and the bread is in a manner common, yea, though it were sanctified this day in the vessel.
[6] So the priest gave him hallowed bread: for there was no bread there but the shewbread, that was taken from before the LORD, to put hot bread in the day when it was taken away.

Jesus brings up how in the day when David with his men were given the very shewbread, which represented the body of Christ in the sanctuary. What Jesus is saying to the Pharisees is that his disciples are priests also, and he is the High Priest. In those days of David, Abiathar the high priest was appointed by God. While Caiaphas the high priest was appointed by a Roman General. Jesus will now explain to these Pharisees, back to Luke 6 and verse 5 reads.

Luke 6:5] And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

He says, The Son of God is Lord of the sabbath, KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. We learn here that Jesus is our Daily Bread (God’s Word) and we are to sabbath (Rest) in him every day, not just one day a week.

Luke 6:6] And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered.
[7] And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him.

Nowhere in God’s Word does it say it is unlawful to heal on the sabbath. These scribes and Pharisees should know this, but to show their ignorance, Jesus teaches us in Luke 13 and verse 13 reads.

Luke 13:13] And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
[14] And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.
[15] The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?

Not only did they do their work at home, but also, it was the priest’s duty to work on the sabbath.

Luke 13:16] And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?
[17] And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.

Remember Jesus is our Sabbath, meaning our Rest. Back to Luke 6 and verse 8 reads.

Luke 6:8] But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth.

Only God can read your thoughts, your minds. He then brings the man front and center for all to see plainly.

Luke 6:9] Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?

He asked if anyone knew the law, all kept their peace. The Pharisees kept quiet and the people did also. Why? Because the people were taught lies by these Pharisees, that no one knew the law.

Luke 6:10] And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other.

It is written in Mark 3:5 that Jesus was angered, and knew their hearts were hardened, which means; were blinded spiritually. Prophesied in Zechariah 7 and verse 11 reads.

Zec.7:11] But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear.
[12] Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts.
[13] Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the LORD of hosts:

Remember that it said that Jesus knew their hearts were hardened, meaning they were spiritually blind. Back to Luke 6 and verse 11 reads.

Luke 6:11] And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.

These scribes and Pharisees are Kenites, they communed together with the Herodians (Mark 3:6) how they would kill Jesus. Kenites H7014 Qayin; and are the offspring of Cain, the first murderer. The Strongs’ says he is the first born of Adam, that is wrong, he is the first born of Eve. Whom the serpent beguiled in the garden. This is the Serpent’s Seed, who God put enmity between her seed and the serpent’s. Gen.3:15.

Luke 6:12] And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

Most likely not the Mount of Olives as they were by the sea. A great example for us on how to pray to the Father, privately.

Luke 6:13] And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;
[14] Simon, (whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew,

Two sets of brothers, Peter and Andrew and John and James, called the greater.

Luke 6:15] Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called Zelotes,

This James is called James the less, whether it be of stature I don’t know. Notice his father’s name is Alphaeus, which is a common Hebrew name. Matthew’s father’s name was also Alphaeus. But that they called him the less does make it easier for us to know the differences between the two. Here Simon is called Zelotes, in Mark 3:18 he was called Simon the Canaanite, because he lived in the land of the Canaanites. Zelotes G2208 means; 1. one burning with zeal, a zealot.

Luke 6:16] And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor.

This first Judas is the brother of James the less, called Thaddaeus in both Mat.10:3 and in Mark 3:18.

Luke 6:17] And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;

I want you to notice he came down with the twelve to his disciples. He had many disciples that were family and friends that follow him, not to be confused with those who were called the great multitude.

Luke 6:18] And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed.
[19] And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.

We see that this word Virtue is the power of Christ’s healing. In Luke 8:46 when the woman of issue for eighteen years touched his garment and was healed, Jesus turned and asked; Who touched me? I want to go to 2Peter 1 and verse 3 reads.

2Pet.1:3] According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

Written to his Elect, by the word called.

2Pet.1:4] Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

We are not of this world, but are the children of God.

2Pet.1:5] And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
[6] And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
[7] And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
[8] For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The LORD will open your eyes to his Word, and you will be fruitful with the Word of God.

2Pet.1:9] But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

It is given to his Elect the powers to heal and cast out demons. Luke 10:17-19. Now we come to the Beatitudes. Back to Luke 6 and verse 20 reads.

Luke 6:20] And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.

Poor is humbled. Notice he is speaking only to his disciples, and not the multitude. Let’s go to James 2 and verse 5 reads.

James 2:5] Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

Now we can understand better Revelation 2 and verse 8 reads.

Rev.2:8] And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;
[9] I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

The poor (humbled) are rich with his Word. Back to Luke 6 and verse 21 reads.

Luke 6:21] Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.

To be hungry for his Word, those who search for that Daily Bread, Jesus Christ, your eyes will be opened and you will be filled. Remember Amos 8 and verse 11 reads.

Amos 8:11] Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:

And in Isaiah 55 and verse 1 reads.

Isa.55:1] Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

And in Isaiah 65 and verse 13 reads.

Isa.65:13] Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed:

As for me and my house, we shall serve the LORD. Joshua 24:15. The whole of the matter is this; read God’s Word, study to show thyself approved. Back to Luke 6 and verse 22 reads.

Luke 6:22] Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.
[23] Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

Be happy they hate you because before they hated you, they hated Jesus Christ. Don’t overlook Verse 23, For in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets. Jesus is talking about the Kenites here. their fathers killed all the prophets from righteous Abel to Zacharias whom they slew between the porch and the altar. Jesus is speaking to his disciples, all of whom will be killed also by these Kenites. But, remember 1Corinthians 10 and verse 11 reads.

1Cor.10:11] Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Written for the Elect in the end times that witness against the antichrist at the sixth trump. Now he goes into the woes. Those who have a Companion Bible by Dr. E. W. Bullinger are blessed, you will find in Appendix 126 the comparisons between the Beatitudes and the Woes. If you don’t have a Companion Bible then see my work in Matthew 23:13-33. You will find that the Beatitudes from Mat.5:3-13 are directly correlated with Mat.23:13-33. Back to Luke 6 and verse 24 reads.

Luke 6:24] But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.

Let’s go to Amos 6 and verse 1 reads.

Amos 6:1] Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!

Now let’s go to James 5 and verse 1 reads.

James 5:1] Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.
[2] Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.
[3] Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.

For the last days. Back to Luke 6 and verse 25 reads.

Luke 6:25] Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.

Notice that Luke takes two at a time. First, they do hunger and we find this in Isaiah 65 and verse 13 reads.

Isa.65:13] Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed:

Now for those who laugh now let’s go to James 4 and verse 9 reads.

James 4:9] Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.

These woes are written for those who refuse the Word of God. Back to Luke 6 and verse 26 reads.

Luke 6:26] Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

How do you know that you are one of God’s children and not like these. Let’s go to John 15 and verse 18 reads.

John 15:18] If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
[19] If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
[20] Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

Now let’s go to 1John 4 and verse 4 reads.

1John 4:4] Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
[5] They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.
[6] We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

Back to Luke 6 and verse 27 reads.

Luke 6:27] But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

Love your enemies, sometimes it takes a two by four. Talking about with discipline and tough love. What does the law say concerning this? Let’s go to Exodus 23 and verse 4 reads.

Exo.23:4] If thou meet thine enemy’s ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again.

And in Proverbs 25 verse 21 reads.

Prov.25:21] If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:
[22] For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee.

We get the point. Back to Luke 6 and verse 28 reads.

Luke 6:28] Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

I hope you can see this is not talking about our enemies that are evil, but those who are our brothers. Let’s go to 2Thessalonians 1 and verse 6 reads.

2Thes.1:6] Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;

You might notice that when someone does you wrong, just wait a couple of months, and watch how the LORD will repay them. Back to Luke 6 and verse 29 reads.

Luke 6:29] And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.

First understand our fight is with the wicked and not our brothers. This is talking about arguing with brothers in Christ. If you offend them, say you take away the rapture theory that they believe in, then you might expect a slap on the face. Do it with love, show them in the Word of God your reasons, and if they still don’t want to give up their security blanket, then walk away. It is not our job to argue the Word of God with our brothers because they will have the Millennium.

Luke 6:30] Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.

Let’s see the law on this subject. Let’s go to Deuteronomy 15 and verse 7 reads.

Deu.15:7] If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother:
[8] But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wanteth.

So, what about the second part of verse 30; And of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again? This is talking about those who borrow from you, don’t expect a return. Let’s go to Matthew 5 and verse 42 reads.

Mat.5:42] Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

Back to Luke 6 and verse 31 reads.

Luke 6:31] And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

This would be the golden rule, treat others as you would want them to treat you.

Luke 6:32] For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
[33] And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
[34] And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.

Even those that are sinners love their own family and friends. We are to be more than they. After all, to heap coals on their heads gets their attention more than showing hate as they do.

Luke 6:35] But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

Let’s go to Psalms 37 and verse 26 reads.

Psa.37:26] He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.
[27] Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
[28] For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

Let’s go to Romans 13 and verse 9 reads.

Rom.13:9] For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
[10] Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
[11] And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

The time is near, 1Cor.10:11. There time is running out to repent. Don’t make it harder for them, but teach them the Word of God. Back to Luke 6 and verse 36 reads.

Luke 6:36] Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
[37] Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

If we don’t forgive others then God cannot forgive our sins.

Luke 6:38] Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Do not confuse discerning with judging, we are to discern good from evil. Let’s go to Hebrews 5 and verse 12 reads.

Heb.5:12] For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
[13] For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
[14] But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

These verses God’s Elect should know and understand in these end times. Now Jesus will give another parable, back to Luke 6 and verse 39 reads.

Luke 6:39] And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?

We are talking about spiritual eyes, remember Hebrews 5:12-14. But Paul taught us better on this subject in Romans 2 and verse 18 reads.

Rom.2:18] And knowest his will, and approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law;
[19] And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness,
[20] An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law.
[21] Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?

The teachings of Paul in Romans about this are extraordinary. Back to Luke 6 and verse 40 reads.

Luke 6:40] The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.

This word Perfect is G2675 katartizō pronounced kat-ar-tid’-zo and has several meanings. 1. to fit or frame for one’s self, prepare. In other words; to be prepared to teach others as given by the word disciple, which means a student.

Luke 6:41] And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

We see this is talking about teaching our brothers the Word of God. How can you teach your brother that he has a little sin when you have many. Cleanse thyself before you attempt to clean a brother. Repent of your sins before you ask your brother to repent of his. Jesus told us here that we are to fix ourselves first, then we may be able to help our loved ones.

Luke 6:42] Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye.

We are still speaking of spiritual eyes. Do not overlook we are speaking of knowledge of discernment.

Luke 6:43] For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
[44] For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.

This should bring to mind the parable of the fig tree, the knowledge of good and evil. Let’s go to Matthew 12 and verse 33 reads.

Mat.12:33] Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
[34] O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

Here in Matthew 12:34 we learned Jesus was speaking to the Kenites. These figs are so evil they cannot be eaten. Discernment of good and evil is the biggest take away from this chapter you need to understand. Back to Luke 6 and verse 45 reads.

Luke 6:45] A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
[46] And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Not only hear his Word, but be a doer of his Word.

Luke 6:47] Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
[48] He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

Christ is our Rock.

Luke 6:49] But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

Let’s go to Hebrews 12 and verse 26 reads.

Heb.12:26] Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
[27] And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
[28] Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
[29] For our God is a consuming fire.

The LORD will shake not only the earth but heaven also, this is the seventh trump. Our God is righteous and will recompense evil because our God is a consuming fire. We will stand and teach the truth of God’s Word as long as possible. Let’s go to his throne.

Father, we thank you for your word and ask that you bless all that love you in Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
