Very important study today so lets get started and chapter3 and verse 1 reads.
Luke 3
Luke3:1] Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar,Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene,
Herod being “king” of Galilee took his brother Philip’s wife for himself. And when John the Baptist said it was wrong, the wife had him put in prison and later beheaded.
Luke3:2] Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.
These high priests were not appointed by God, but by the Romanauthority. Now God comes to John and fills him with the Holy Spirit, and then He will send him.
Luke3:3] And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;
[4] As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
[5] Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;
[6] And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.
Isaiah 40:1-5 quoted here. Prophesy fulfilled.
Luke3:7] Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
[8] Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
Remember when Jesus was talking with the Kenites and they said “we be of Abraham.” Here we have John saying to them God is able to bring up children from stones. This wicked generation are the Serpents seed. But even a Kenite can come to repentance, this is the beauty of Christ and his power of forgiveness.
Luke3:9] And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Now when you hear “trees” you should think spiritual eyes being opened. let’s go to Mark 8:23-25 and read.
Mark8:23] And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.
[24] And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.
[25] After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.
First Jesus opens your spiritual eyes then he will open your eyes to your fellow man. This blessing comes from God, he can open eyes and close eyes. Back to Luke and verse 10 reads.
Luke3:10] And the people asked him, saying, What shall we do then?
[11] He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.
Take care of the poor and needy. Christians are the most charitable ones around.
Luke3:12] Then came also publicans to be baptized, and said unto him, Master, what shall we do?
[13] And he said unto them, Exact no more than that which is appointed you.
[14] And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.
Notice that John is baptizing all sorts, he had Kenites, government officials, soldiers. And many more.
Luke3:15] And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts of John, whether he were the Christ, or not;
[16] John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:
[17] Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable.
[18] And many other things in his exhortation preached he unto the people.
[19] But Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him for Herodias his brother Philip’s wife, and for all the evils which Herod had done,
[20] Added yet this above all, that he shut up John in prison.
[21] Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,
[22] And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.
This sign of the Spirit descending like a dove, was for John only to see, for it was the sign that the Father told him in the wilderness. Now we come to the most important part for all to understand. This is the correct genealogy of Jesus Christ. The genealogy given in Matthew ch.1 was Joseph’s. Joseph was not the father of Jesus, God himself was. This genealogy takes us from Mary’s father Heli back to Adam. Christ did not come through Soloman, he came through Nathan, Soloman’s brother. Why is this so important? This is the Key of David. Let’s go to Rev.3:6-12 and it reads.
Rev.3:6] He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
[7] And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
With the Key of David, your eyes and ears are opened by God, and no man can tell you lies, because you know the truth and that can’t be taken from you.
Rev.3:8] I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
[9] Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
[10] Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
Watchmen are you hearing this. For us in these end times. The Kenites are of the synagogue of Satan.
Rev.3:11] Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
[12] Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
Notice we are pillars, pillars hold up the ceiling. And we are right in the middle of His Temple. Now, we need to also understand that with the Key of David is another important issue. Mary’s father Heli was of the King line. While Mary’s mother was of the house of Aaron, the priest line. This will bring forth Melchisedec (Greek), Melchizedek (Hebrew), King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Let’s go to Rev.19:13-16 and it reads.
Rev.19:13] And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
[14] And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
[15] And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
[16] And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
Once we have the Key of David, God will open his word to you. Making you an Elect. And all that you study will start to open to your eyes. It’s a beautiful thing. Now back to Luke and verse 23 reads.
Luke3:23] And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli,
Joseph was “son in law” to Heli, who was Mary’s father.
Luke3:24] Which was the son of Matthat, which was the son of Levi, which was the son of Melchi, which was the son of Janna, which was the son of Joseph,
[25] Which was the son of Mattathias, which was the son of Amos, which was the son of Naum, which was the son of Esli, which was the son of Nagge,
[26] Which was the son of Maath, which was the son of Mattathias, which was the son of Semei, which was the son of Joseph, which was the son of Juda,
[27] Which was the son of Joanna, which was the son of Rhesa, which was the son of Zorobabel, which was the son of Salathiel, which was the son of Neri,
[28] Which was the son of Melchi, which was the son of Addi, which was the son of Cosam, which was the son of Elmodam, which was the son of Er,
[29] Which was the son of Jose, which was the son of Eliezer, which was the son of Jorim, which was the son of Matthat, which was the son of Levi,
[30] Which was the son of Simeon, which was the son of Juda, which was the son of Joseph, which was the son of Jonan, which was the son of Eliakim,
[31] Which was the son of Melea, which was the son of Menan, which was the son of Mattatha, which was the son of Nathan, which was the son of David,
Nathan not Soloman.
Luke3:32] Which was the son of Jesse, which was the son of Obed, which was the son of Booz, which was the son of Salmon, which was the son of Naasson,
Booz is Greek for Boaz. The kinsman redeemer of Ruth. Another beautiful book you should find time to read it.
Luke3:33] Which was the son of Aminadab, which was the son of Aram, which was the son of Esrom, which was the son of Phares, which was the son of Juda,
[34] Which was the son of Jacob, which was the son of Isaac, which was the son of Abraham, which was the son of Thara, which was the son of Nachor,
[35] Which was the son of Saruch, which was the son of Ragau, which was the son of Phalec, which was the son of Heber, which was the son of Sala,
[36] Which was the son of Cainan, which was the son of Arphaxad, which was the son of Sem, which was the son of Noe, which was the son of Lamech,
[37] Which was the son of Mathusala, which was the son of Enoch, which was the son of Jared, which was the son of Maleleel, which was the son of Cainan,
[38] Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.
The perfect genealogy for our Christ. Satan, from the beginning, was trying to pollute the seed line of Christ. From the Serpent to the Dragon he will find he never had a chance. God wins. From Eve’s umbilical cord to umbilical cord of Mary, our Christ was born. Praise the Lord, lets go to his throne.
