LUKE 21 ☆

In today’s study our titles are; Verses 1-4 The widow’s two mites. Verses 5-24 The signs of the end. Verses 25-28 The coming of the Son of Man. Verses 29-38 The Parable of the Fig Tree. Luke 21 and verse 1 reads.

Luke 21:1] And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.
[2] And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.

Talking about those who give with much faith as to those who just give to be seen. This is a spiritual lesson Jesus is giving us here so think spiritually about being rich in the Word of God. Let’s go to 2Corinthians 6 and verse 4 reads.

2Cor.6:4] But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,

Being ministers of God, freely God has given to us, freely we give to others the Word of God.

2Cor.6:5] In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings;
[6] By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned,
[7] By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,
[8] By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;
[9] As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;
[10] As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.
[11] O ye Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our heart is enlarged.

And in Revelation 2 and verse 9 reads.

Rev.2:9] I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

Being rich with God’s Word is far more important than the riches of this world. Back to Luke 21 and verse 3 reads.

Luke 21:3] And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:
[4] For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.

Penury means; destitution, poverty. This woman gave all that she had in faith. Not a tenth or tithe, but all she had though it seems little to most, Jesus counted it as more than they all. Now, we go into the End Times. Luke 21 is a sister chapter to Matthew 24 and Mark 13. The most important chapters for God’s Elect in these end times.

Luke 21:5] And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said,
[6] As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

This is speaking of the second advent, the seventh trump. Remember Satan comes at the sixth trump and deceives the whole world and defiles the land. Jesus just said that when he comes, he will cleanse the land, wipe it clean.

Luke 21:7] And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?

This verse is asked better, or more specifically in Matthew 24 and verse 3 reads.

Mat.24:3] And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

We see that it is specifically talking about the end of the world, the seventh trump or second advent. Back to Luke 21 and verse 8 reads.

Luke 21:8] And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

The first warning Jesus gives us is, Do not be deceived. Satan comes first at the sixth trump. This is the first seal given in Revelation 6 and verse 1 reads.

Rev.6:1] And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
[2] And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

We know our LORD has a bow also, it is the Shekinah Glory that surrounds him. But this Bow is G5115 Toxon pronounced Tox-on and means; A cheap fabric, an imitation. Back to Luke 21 and verse 9 reads.

Luke 21:9] But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.

This is the second Seal. Back to Revelation 6 and verse 3 reads.

Rev.6:3] And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.
[4] And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

The second Seal is a war horse. Jesus said these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. Back to Luke 21 and verse 10 reads.

Luke 21:10] Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
[11] And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

Many of these prophecies are coming to pass. Let’s focus on the Famine. Let’s go to Amos 8 and verse 11 reads.

Amos 8:11] Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:

The Word of God is not taught in our churches today. There is a famine in the land, and God’s children are starving for the truth. We must feed God’s children the Truth of God’s Word. Back to Luke and verse 12 reads.

Luke 21:12] But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake.

Remember Revelation 2:9 above, delivered up to the synagogue of Satan. This is speaking of God’s Elect, our destiny. Let’s go to Luke 12 and verse 10 reads.

Luke 12:10] And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.

God’s Elect need to pay attention, this is the unpardonable sin. To refuse the Holy Spirit from speaking through us when we are delivered up to Satan.

Luke 12:11] And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:
[12] For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.

Jesus just said that you will be delivered up, and the Holy Spirit will give you what to say in that hour, don’t premeditate what to say. I know a lot of us got a lot to say to Satan but don’t do it. Let it be from the Holy Spirit, that way all people will understand it in their own language. This is the Pentecost tongue. Back to Luke 21 and verse 13 reads.

Luke 21:13] And it shall turn to you for a testimony.
[14] Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:
[15] For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

Nobody can dispute what you say because it is the Holy Spirit that speaks in the Pentecost tongue. The job of an Elect is to be delivered up and give the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Luke 21:16] And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.

This is family giving up family to death. Death is the devil (Satan). Heb.2:14. Not that your family is evil, but that they think that Satan is Jesus, they are deceived. The whole world is deceived. And it is out of love that they deliver you up.

Luke 21:17] And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.
[18] But there shall not an hair of your head perish.

This is why it is so important to know God’s word, to have it sealed in your heads. Let’s go to Revelation 9 and verse 4 reads.

Rev.9:4] And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.

We have power over all evil spirits and they know this. Back to Luke 21 and verse 19 reads.

Luke 21:19] In your patience possess ye your souls.
[20] And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

Keep all eyes on Jerusalem, there is a lot of activity going on there today.

Luke 21:21] Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
[22] For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

Many people want to go to Jerusalem, but this just warned them to get out. Why? Because the antichrist comes first. And when the true Christ comes, there will be not one stone atop another. It is wiped clean. And if they are in Jerusalem then they are deceived, they will pray for mountains to fall on them. Notice that the second advent is for Vengeance, the first was for Salvation.

Luke 21:23] But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.

A woman with child is a blessing. This is speaking spiritually, those deceived by the antichrist are spiritually pregnant and have lost their virginity.

Luke 21:24] And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

Notice in Israel that golden dome. The clay and iron that can’t mix, the Israelites and the Muslims can’t mix. These things have happened already.

Luke 21:25] And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
[26] Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

The powers of heaven will be shaken alright. Michael and his angels will kick Satan and his angels out of heaven. Let’s go to Revelation 12 and verse 7 reads.

Rev.12:7] And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
[8] And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
[9] And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Let’s back up to Revelation 11 and verse 14 reads.

Rev.11:14] The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.
[15] And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

The seventh trump comes quickly after the sixth trump, because Satan only has five months. Notice they are called woe trumps. There are three woe trumps and we are living in the fifth trump now. Now comes the Son of Man. Back to Luke 21 and verse 27 reads.

Luke 21:27] And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
[28] And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Then, and only then, will the seventh trump sound, there will not be a rapture. This rapture will lead God’s children straight into the hands of Satan. Do not be deceived, wait for it with the patience of the saints. Revelation 14 and verse 12 reads.

Rev.14:12] Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Back to Luke 21 and verse 29 reads.

Luke 21:29] And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;
[30] When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.

Jesus would say in Matthew 24:32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree, he did not say maybe you should learn it, but learn it. I have done a study in Topical Teachings called The Parable of the Fig Tree. Find time to read it, so that you know and understand the parable fully. The parable of the fig tree began in 1948 when Israel became a nation again. No other nation perished and came back to exist again. But this was prophesied in Jeremiah 24.

Luke 21:31] So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
[32] Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.
[33] Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

All the prophesy’s will come to pass in this generation, and they are coming to pass before our very eyes. Now this heaven and earth that passes away is talking about this second earth age. But his word will never pass away.

Luke 21:34] And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

Don’t get caught up in this world, stay in his word. This is how we know, as watchmen, we watch the prophecies come to pass exactly as written.

Luke 21:35] For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
[36] Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Let’s go to 1Corinthians 10 and verse 13 reads.

1Cor.10:13] There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

The most beautiful promise from the LORD to his Elect. Back to Luke 21 and verse 37 reads.

Luke 21:37] And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.
[38] And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.

That must have been a wonderful thing to hear the LORD speak and teach the Word of God in person. Let’s go to his throne.

Father, we thank you for your word and ask that you bless all that love you in Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
