Today’s titles are; Verses 1-5 Except ye all repent, ye shall likewise perish. Verses 6-10 The parable of the barren fig tree. Verses 11-17 Jesus heals a woman on the sabbath. Verses 18-19 The parable of the mustard seed. Verses 20-30 The parable of the leaven. Verses 31-35 Jesus laments over Jerusalem. Luke 13 and verse 1 reads.
Luke 13:1] There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
This is found in Josephus’s book life and works, antiquities of the Jews 18, it is talking about the Antigonus’s party who were slaughtered.
Luke 13:2] And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?
[3] I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
We are all sinners, let’s go to 1John 1 and verse 8 reads.
1John 1:8] If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
[9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
[10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
But thanks to his blood on the cross, we have repentance. Without repentance we will perish. Back to Luke 13 and verse 4 reads.
Luke 13:4] Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
[5] I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
Eighteen in biblical numeric is bondage. Jesus focuses on repentance. It is repentance and declaring that Jesus is the Son of God that is necessary for baptism. What Jesus is saying here is, sometimes accidents happen. We never know when we will die, it is better to be repented and have our sins forgiven before that day comes.
Luke 13:6] He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.
This parable is comparable with Isaiah 5:1-5. The well beloved of the LORD had a vineyard. The LORD hedged it and it brought forth some grapes and some wild grapes. The parable brings in the woman’s seed and the serpent’s seed. We have the children of God and the children of that wicked one, the Kenites.
Luke 13:7] Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?
Jesus’s ministry was for three years.
Luke 13:8] And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:
[9] And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
The parable abruptly ends here. We can take away from this parable that even the dresser of the vineyard tried to save the fig tree. Let’s go to John 15 and verse 1 reads.
John 15:1] I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
[2] Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
These would be our works.
John 15:3] Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
Can you see now that it is Jesus who is the dresser from above, and that he came for Salvation through repentance. Clean through the Word, Jesus’s self-sacrifice gives us Salvation on repentance. Back to Luke 13 and verse 10 reads.
Luke 13:10] And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.
[11] And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.
We have the number eighteen again, for bondage.
Luke 13:12] And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.
He called her, are you called and chosen out of this world? Has the Lord opened your eyes and ears to his Word?
Luke 13:13] And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
[14] And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.
Apply this to our churches today. This ruler of the synagogue does not know scripture, and has obviously never taught anyone in this synagogue the Word of God. Nowhere in God’s Word does it say you can’t heal on the sabbath. On the contrary, it was the priest’s job to heal any day of the weak, except this Pharisee was not appointed by God, but the Roman governor. Now let’s take a look at the Sixth Commandment. Let’s go to Exodus 20 and verse 8 reads.
Exo.20:8] Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Did not the woman glorify God after being healed.
Exo.20:9] Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
[10] But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Did you see anything about healing written above.
Exo.20:11] For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
He made it Holy. Now, think about this for a minute. We find in John 1:1-3 that Jesus was with God and Jesus was God. And also, in 1Corinthians 5:7 that Jesus became our Passover, the highest sabbath. Whether through ignorance of God’s Word, or by an evil act of false teaching, we see this in our churches today. Let’s see how Jesus handles it, Luke 13 and verse 15 reads.
Luke 13:15] The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?
When you have money tied up in your animals, you take care of them.
Luke 13:16] And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?
We find out here that it was the spirit of Satan himself that bound this woman. This puts it right in the lap of the Pharisees, they should have been able to cast out a devil, but they were not appointed by God and could not.
Luke 13:17] And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
The Pharisee was ashamed before his own congregation and the people glorified God.
Luke 13:18] Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it?
Jesus is going to give a comparison to the kingdom of heaven. As only one who knows the kingdom can.
Luke 13:19] It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.
The mustard is the smallest of seeds, yet when it is fully grown, it is the largest of the herbs. Notice it grows into a great tree, and the fowls lodged in its branches. The same with a church, the fowls are Kenites and lodge within the church. The Kenites upset the teachings of God’s Word in the churches, we see this in our churches today. Remember Jesus is giving us resemblances of the kingdom of God. Kingdom; The King and his dominion.
Luke 13:20] And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God?
[21] It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
Leaven represents sin. Still talking about the churches, when a little leaven (Sin) enters into the church it spreads like wildfire. Now, how can I say that Jesus is comparing the kingdom to churches? Jesus Christ is the head of the church. Let’s go to Ephesians 1 and verse 19 reads.
Eph.1:19] And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
[20] Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
[21] Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
[22] And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
[23] Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
The body of Christ is our church, it is represented in the sacraments with unleavened bread for this reason. Jesus compared the kingdom with the leaven in verse 21. Let’s go to Colossians 1 and verse 22 reads.
Col.1:22] In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
His blood covers our sins on repentance.
Col.1:23] If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
[24] Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church:
For his body’s sake, which is the church. Back to Luke 13 and verse 22 reads.
Luke 13:22] And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.
Remember this verse, it will come to pass in the last verses. Jesus is on his way to Jerusalem.
Luke 13:23] Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
The whole reason for this earth age is Salvation. Let me remind you of 2Peter 3 and verse 9 reads.
2Pet.3:9] The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Back to Luke 13 and verse 24 reads.
Luke 13:24] Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
This word Strive is G75 and means; To struggle literally (to compete for a prize) figuratively (to contend with an adversary) or generally (to endeavor to accomplish something). Metaph. To contend, struggle, with difficulties and dangers. To endeavour with strenuous zeal, strive: to obtain something. We see here we are to fight the good fight for eternal life, meaning of our spiritual body. This gate is for judgement. For narrow is this gate that is Christ. Wide is the gate that leads to hell. Many will not make it through the narrow gate. Narrow means; discipline. We are disciples of Christ. Many shall be deceived in the end times and worship the antichrist. But until then, they that are of this world, have not the love of the Father.
Luke 13:25] When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
Notice this says after he is risen, after Jesus has paid the price on the cross for our sins. This brings us to repentance, if you have not repented your sins remain and he never knew you. Let’s go to Isaiah 55 and verse 6 reads.
Isa.55:6] Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
[7] Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
[8] For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
[9] For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Now let’s go to Revelation 22 and verse 10 reads.
Rev.22:10] And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.
[11] He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
[12] And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
We see here that the book Revelation is not sealed. Beware of your teachers. Back to Luke 13 and verse 26 reads.
Luke 13:26] Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.
[27] But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
Prophesied in Psalms 6 and verse 7 reads.
Psa.6:7] Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth old because of all mine enemies.
[8] Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping.
Let’s go to Titus 1 and verse 15 reads.
Titus 1:15] Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
[16] They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
In these end times we will have many false prophets in our churches teaching disobedient doctrines such as rapture theory. Let’s quickly go to Ezekiel 13 where he gives the warning against that doctrine which is not of Christ, and verse 18 reads.
Eze.13:18] And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the women that sew pillows to all armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Will ye hunt the souls of my people, and will ye save the souls alive that come unto you?
[19] And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies?
They sow these pillows to cover God’s outstretched saving arms, and they do this for money, like a pension. Now pay attention if you’re one of those that teach the rapture doctrine.
Eze.13:20] Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly.
[21] Your kerchiefs also will I tear, and deliver my people out of your hand, and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
Rapture theory debunked. Back to Luke 13 and verse 28 reads.
Luke 13:28] There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.
Let’s go to Matthew 7 and verse 15 takes it further, and it reads.
Mat.7:14] Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
[15] Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
When they come to you in sheep’s clothing means they are in your churches. Let’s go to 1Peter 4 and verse 17 reads.
1Pet.4:17] For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
I’m so happy that judgement begins at the pulpit, a warning to false teachers concerning the rapture theory. Learn to check your teachers. If they teach the Word of God then you will find it in God’s Word. How will you know if they take a verse out of context, unless you search the verse out and find the subject, object, and who is speaking to whom. These false pastors or priests will teach the rapture doctrine and not the doctrine of Jesus. They will say; you don’t have to understand Revelation because you are going to fly away, right into Satan’s lap if you are not careful. Back to Luke 13 and verse 29 reads.
Luke 13:29] And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.
[30] And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.
Speaking of the Elect, and those that followed Satan in the first earth age. The third that followed Satan will be here in this generation of the fig tree along with God’s Elect. These are the good figs and the evil figs, which are so evil they cannot be eaten.
Luke 13:31] The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying unto him, Get thee out, and depart hence: for Herod will kill thee.
The Pharisees and Herodians are both Kenites, funny how the Pharisees blame the Herodians. Yes they will kill Jesus, but not until he fulfills all that was prophesied. Meaning he must continue to Jerusalem, where all the prophets were killed by the Kenites.
Luke 13:32] And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.
Foxes are Kenites. Witnessed by Peter in Acts 10 and verse 39 reads.
Acts 10:39] And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:
[40] Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;
Back to Luke 13 and verse 33 reads.
Luke 13:33] Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.
[34] O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!
[35] Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
Let’s go to Psalms 118 and verse 23 reads.
Psa.118:23] This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.
[24] This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
[25] Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.
Hosanna, Save now.
Psa.118:26] Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.
[27] God is the LORD, which hath shewed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.
Jesus (Emmanuel, God with us) became the Lamb of God. Destined to die for our sins, and be the sacrifice for once and all time for sin. Praise the LORD. Let’s go to his throne.
