Today’s study can be titled, deliverance foreshadowed. Isa.8 and verse 1 reads.
Isa.8:1] Moreover the LORD said unto me, Take thee a great roll, and write in it with a man’s pen concerning Maher-shalal-hash-baz.
The longest word in the bible is the son of Isaiah, his name can be found in the Strong’s H4122 and comes from four different words. Haste, Spoil, Speed, Prey; Haste to the spoil and speed to the prey. 1. symbolic name given by Isaiah by the Lord’s direction to Isaiah’s son; prophetic indication that Damascus and Samaria were soon to be plundered by the king of Assyria. Maher-H4118, Shalal-H7998, Hash-H2363, Baz-H957. Now, what was said is the LORD told Isaiah to write on a great roll, meaning a tablet. And write concerning Mahershalalhashbaz his son who hasn’t been conceived yet.
Isa.8:2] And I took unto me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.
Have two witnesses while you write.
Isa.8:3] And I went unto the prophetess; and she conceived, and bare a son. Then said the LORD to me, Call his name Maher-shalal-hash-baz.
Here we have another named by God before he was born. Giving us 7 in total, the other six are Ishmael, Isaac, Josiah, Cyrus, John the Baptist, and Jesus Christ.
Isa.8:4] For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.
Now, the prophecy for us today is to remember that Satan is the king of Assyria in the end times, but is also the king of Babylon. Both roles he will play from the prophets. Also remember Isa.7:16 For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings. This would happen 14 days after the conception, Damascus and Samaria fall.
Isa.8:5] The LORD spake also unto me again, saying,
[6] Forasmuch as this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah’s son;
For refusing the Living Water which is Christ. Let’s go to John 9, Jesus is healing the blind man, and verse 7 reads.
John 9:7] And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
I want you to think spiritually here, always pray for God to open our eyes and ears to his word. Back to Isa.8 and verse 7 reads.
Isa.8:7] Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:
First let’s go to Amos 8 and verse 8 reads.
Amos 8:8] Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein? and it shall rise up wholly as a flood; and it shall be cast out and drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.
And Amos 9:5 reads.
Amos 9:5] And the Lord GOD of hosts is he that toucheth the land, and it shall melt, and all that dwell therein shall mourn: and it shall rise up wholly like a flood; and shall be drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.
All these from the prophets are said for our admonition in these end times. Here we happen to be talking about when the antichrist comes at the sixth trump. Let’s go to Rev.9 and verse 14 reads.
Rev.9:14] Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.
Speaking about a flood in these end times.
Rev.9:15] And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.
Released for a specific time, the Lord’s Day. A third will die spiritually.
Rev.9:16] And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.
That would be 2 million.
Rev.9:17] And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.
[18] By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.
Catch that the three come out of their mouths, this is by their lies. Remember Jesus said “Do not be deceived”.
Rev.9:19] For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.
The flood in the end times is the flood of lies that deceive the whole world, Satan is here calling himself God. Now, this prophecy by Isaiah comes true, the ten tribes of Israel go into captivity to Assyria 14 days after Isaiah writes Mahershalalhashbaz. We need to keep in perspective this prophecy by Isaiah. Isa.8 and verse 8 continues.
Isa.8:8] And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel.
Immanuel, God with us. The king of Assyria will not be able to reach and take captive the Judah at this time. But, the house of Israel, the ten tribes north will go into captivity at this time to Assyria. But, for the end times at the sixth trump, Satan stands in Jerusalem claiming to be Christ and deceives the whole world. If we listen closely here, we can see that God’s elect will stand against Satan at that time, with the Holy Spirit speaking through them as said. “And the stretching out of His wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel.”
Isa.8:9] Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.
Break those against God, socialist and communist that make up the one world order of the end times. And we will gird ourselves with that gospel armor on and stand against Satan and all his wicked men. Eph.6:10-18.
Isa.8:10] Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.
God with us, Immanuel spelled out here for our example. Make a one world order and it shall come to nought.
Isa.8:11] For the LORD spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,
[12] Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.
Let’s go to 1Peter 3 and pick it up with verse 13 and it reads.
1Pet.3:13] And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?
[14] But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;
Back to Isaiah 8 and verse 13 reads.
Isa.8:13] Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.
Walk not in this world for this world is evil and we are children of God.
Isa.8:14] And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
Both houses are said here, the house of Israel and the house of Judah. Now, what is this stumbling block? It is Jesus Christ, when Satan comes at the sixth trump many will be deceived and want to fly away, the house of Israel who are the Christians. And Judah who never believed Jesus came to begin with, will think this is his first coming, they also are deceived.
Isa.8:15] And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.
This should never happen, but many do not study God’s word and will be deceived.
Isa.8:16] Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.
Put that seal of God in our foreheads. Do not overlook he said, the law also.
Isa.8:17] And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.
Now Jacob is used here for all twelve tribes. Wait upon the LORD, wait for the seventh trump. Yes, here in Isaiah he says wait for the LORD.
Isa.8:18] Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.
For signs and wonders, let’s go to 1Cor.10 and verse 11 reads.
1Cor.10:11] Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
Understanding prophecies is why we study so hard. Bless us LORD and open eyes and ears to your word, Amen. Back to Isa.8 and verse 19 reads.
Isa.8:19] And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?
We find in 1Sam.28 that king Saul sought a woman who had a familiar spirit at Endor. This is very evil, for no good spirit except the Lord send him would come unto man in the flesh, these are evil spirits. We also find in Rev.22:15 and it reads.
Rev.22:15] For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
Without means not in heaven. Back to Isa.8 and verse 20 reads.
Isa.8:20] To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
No light in them, Christ is that Light. This testimony is the doctrine of Christ. Let’s go to 2John 1 and pick it up with verse 9 and it reads.
2John1:9] Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
This doctrine or testimony is the Word of God, Jesus Christ.
2John1:10] If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
[11] For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
Back to Isa.8 and verse 21 reads.
Isa.8:21] And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.
[22] And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.
And this great falling away is called the Apostasy. And the whole world shall be deceived and go into captivity, that is the antichrist in the end times. Let’s go to his throne.
