Chapter six is Isaiah’s Vision and Commission. Isa.6 and verse 1 reads.
Isa.6:1] In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
This gives us a date, approx. 740 B.C. Now, it said that he “Saw”, meaning given a vision from the LORD, and was taken to heaven to see the Lord sitting on his throne. He tells us that the LORD’s train filled the temple, we can only hope that our righteous acts can give us more than a pair of shorts.
Isa.6:2] Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
They covered for humility and humbleness. Now, exactly who are these Seraphims? They are created without free will, but rather stronger than all to protect the mercy seat. When we studied the great book of Revelation, we came upon them in chapter 4. Let’s go to Rev.4 and pick it up with verse 6 and it reads.
Rev.4:6] And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
All seeing and all knowing.
Rev.4:7] And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
We’ll get to these faces in a minute.
Rev.4:8] And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
Bringing up the three earth and heaven ages here. Showing the importance of understanding God’s word.
Rev.4:9] And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,
Three things; Glory, Honor, and Thanks. Now, what about these four faces, I will summarize Numbers chapter 2 for us. Find time to study Num.2 on your own for an awesome study of how God organizes his children around his tabernacle. First, on the East is the face of the Lion, which is the house of Judah. With Judah are the tribes of Issachar and Zebulon. These make up the East side. Second, on the South is the face of a Man, which is the house of Rueben. With Rueben are the tribes of Simeon and Gad. These make up the South side. Third, on the West is the face of the Ox, which is the house of Ephriam. With Ephriam are the tribes of Manasseh and Benjamin. These make up the West side. Fourth, on the North is the face of an Eagle, which is the house of Dan. With Dan are the tribes of Asher and Naphtali. These make up the North side. All these make up the twelve tribes of Israel, and we can see that the LORD has order in all that he does. These are the faces we see in the Seraphims. But wait, what about the tribe of Levi? The house, or tribe, of Joseph was given the double blessing hence Ephriam and Manasseh. And the tribe of Levi are special because in Numbers chapter 2 we find they are given to be the priest line, and they surround the Tabernacle with the other tribes outside the bounds of the priest. Meaning they are divided throughout the other tribes. Back to Isa.6 and verse 3 reads.
Isa.6:3] And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
As said in Rev.4:8.
Isa.6:4] And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
This is the Shekinah Glory of the LORD. A powerful thing to see.
Isa.6:5] Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.
King of kings and Lord of lords, Melchizedek. Speaking of the sin that man has just by being in the flesh. Yes, we all have sin but I ask you, have you repented? Here is a prayer I have asked for from God, that he would touch my lips, and bless me with his word.
Isa.6:6] Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:
Don’t let this “Flew” distract you from the word, it simply means he is in a different dimension than we on earth, think spiritually.
Isa.6:7] And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.
This coal was taken from the very altar of God and purified Isaiah so that the LORD may speak to him and through him. We cannot stand before God with sin. In Revelation 8:3-5 we find that at the time of the seven trumps the angels take the coals from off the fires of the altar and cast down the censors upon the earth. Now, my favorite verse from the book or prophecy of Isaiah.
Isa.6:8] Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
Have you been called, has God opened your eyes and ears to his word? This is written here for God’s Elect to wake up, and ask what can I do for the LORD. Apostle means; Sent One, so Isaiah is asking to be sent.
Isa.6:9] And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.
Go to them that are blind and don’t have eyes to see his word, and hear not because they don’t have ears to hear. Notice this is my prayer before all studies. Jesus taught us these things in John 12 and verse 38 reads.
John 12:38] That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?
[39] Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,
[40] He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
[41] These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.
And in Luke 8 Jesus explains why, and verse 10 reads.
Luke 8:10] And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.
Given to God’s elect only to understand his word in these end times. Back to Isa.6 and verse 10 reads.
Isa.6:10] Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.
The LORD is not cruel, but that all these things must happen before the second advent. You see, God’s word is written and the evil might read, but that they not understand these things that needs be.
Isa.6:11] Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,
Until the sixth trump, when Satan stands where he ought not (2Thes.2:3-4) and the seventh trump comes quickly.
Isa.6:12] And the LORD have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.
Not until the great apostasy. Which is also at the sixth trump. Those six woes we just studied in chapter 5 of this great book. Let’s go to 2Kings 25 and pick it up with verse 20 and it reads.
2K.25:20] And Nebuzar-adan captain of the guard took these, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah:
[21] And the king of Babylon smote them, and slew them at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was carried away out of their land.
[22] And as for the people that remained in the land of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had left, even over them he made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, ruler.
Now, Isaiah was a prophet and a prophet says what is about to happen to that great city Jerusalem for an example for us in the end times. Here the king of Babylon is Satan in the end times. Back to Isa.6 and verse 13 reads.
Isa.6:13] But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.
Let’s go to Deu.7 and verse 6 reads.
Deu.7:6] For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.
Now, let’s go to Genesis 3 and read the first prophecy in God’s word. Talking to the Serpent after he seduced Eve in the garden Verse 14 reads.
Gen.3:14] And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
[15] And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
These are the seeds, the serpent’s seed (Kenites) and the woman’s seed (Israel). Which in these end times are his elect. Now, what was said in verse 13 is speaking of his elect, strong as an oak, we have his word (substance) and are his holy seed (not the serpent’s seed) but the seed of God. We will stand before Satan, that is the king of Babylon, in these end times. Everything that is written will happen exactly as it is written. Let’s go to his throne.
Father, we thank you for your word and ask that you bless all that love you in Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
