Another woe chapter, this time for false teachers. Verses 1-14 the futility of relying on Egypt. Verses 15-26 an appeal to turn to the LORD for help. And verses 27-33 the destruction of Assyria for told. Isaiah 30 and verse 1 reads.
Isa.30:1] Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:
Woe to the children that lie and say God told me. Let’s go to Eze.13 and verse 7 reads.
Eze.13:7] Have ye not seen a vain vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The LORD saith it; albeit I have not spoken?
[8] Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord GOD.
We studied these coverings before, let’s do it again. Eze.13 and verse 17 reads.
Eze.13:17] Likewise, thou son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, which prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy thou against them,
[18] And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the women that sew pillows to all armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Will ye hunt the souls of my people, and will ye save the souls alive that come unto you?
[19] And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies?
[20] Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly.
Teaching the rapture doctrine instead of the word of God.
Eze.13:21] Your kerchiefs also will I tear, and deliver my people out of your hand, and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
[22] Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:
[23] Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I will deliver my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
But we have a warning from the LORD to those who lie and teach falsely to God’s children in Due.29 and verse 19 reads.
Due.29:19] And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:
[20] The LORD will not spare him, but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.
Back to Isa.30 and verse 2 reads.
Isa.30:2] That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!
God said not to go back to Egypt, because with a heavy hand he brought the house of Jacob out of captivity. I want to go ahead to the next chapter and read verse 1.
Isa.31:1] Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!
Back to Isa.30 and verse 3 reads.
Isa.30:3] Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.
By giving the heathen strength, you shame yourselves and the LORD gives you over to confusion because you are denying the only God.
Isa.30:4] For his princes were at Zoan, and his ambassadors came to Hanes.
We covered this in Isa.19:11, the princes of Zoan are foolish. Hanes is a place of departure, into confusion.
Isa.30:5] They were all ashamed of a people that could not profit them, nor be an help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.
They have shamed the Father amongst their own people. Meaning because they taught falsely to God’s children, they fall away. Think of the Apostacy of these end times. Still speaking here of the false teachers.
Isa.30:6] The burden of the beasts of the south: into the land of trouble and anguish, from whence come the young and old lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young asses, and their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people that shall not profit them.
Saying they come up from the south into the land of Israel. The lions for the cheek teeth of the lions and the vipers and flying serpent for the Kenites that come against Israel in these end times.
Isa.30:7] For the Egyptians shall help in vain, and to no purpose: therefore have I cried concerning this, Their strength is to sit still.
Vain is emptiness, they have no purpose. “Their strength is to sit still” let’s look at this word strength. It is H4581 mâʻôwz pronounced maw-oze’, and means; 1. place or means of safety, protection, refuge, stronghold. A place for human protection, refuge. What this is saying is to sit tight, our LORD is our protection.
Isa.30:8] Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:
Write it in a book, for it is for the latter times. I want to go to Habakkuk 2 and verse 1 reads.
Hab.2:1] I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
Written for the elect in the end times.
Hab.2:2] And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
[3] For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
Sit tight and wait for the true Christ.
Hab.2:4] Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
Live by faith is for the end times, certainly not for the Old Testament. The just or the upright or righteous shall live through faith in Jesus Christ. Back to Isa.30 and verse 9 reads.
Isa.30:9] That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD:
The Word of the LORD is law, never was it done away with as some today will falsely teach. Let’s go to Mat.5 and hear it from the lips of Jesus. Mat.5 and verse 17 reads.
Mat.5:17] Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
[18] For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
[19] Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
[20] For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Can we see why Jesus would say to fulfill the prophets? Whether being saved by faith and not by sacrifice as in Habakkuk, to needing to be better than the false teachers in our churches as by Isaiah. Back to Isaiah 30 and verse 10 reads.
Isa.30:10] Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:
Warned also in 2Tim.4 and verse 4 reads.
2Tim.4:4] And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
The power of the pulpit is the reason judgement begins at the pulpit. 1Peter 4 and verse 17 reads.
1Pet.4:17] For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
Back to Isa.30 and verse 11 reads.
Isa.30:11] Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.
Going back to verse 10, these false teachers that are among us say this. How important is it to understand the severity of this? Let’s go to Deuteronomy 13 and verse 6 reads.
Due.13:6] If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;
[7] Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth;
[8] Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:
[9] But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.
Death is the devil Heb.2:14. Turn them over to Satan and have nothing else to do with them. Back to Isa.30 and verse 12 reads.
Isa.30:12] Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon:
Thus saith the LORD, you despise the Word (Jesus) and trust in oppression and perverseness, that’s Satan at the sixth trump. This word “stay” is rely, you rely on the antichrist instead of the true Christ. Meaning they have been deceived, because they believed on the rapture doctrine instead of God’s word.
Isa.30:13] Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant.
Because you believed man and not God, (Jer.17:5-7) and being deceived, God will send strong delusions on them. Let’s go to 2Thes.2 and verse 10 reads.
2Thes.2:10] And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
[11] And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
[12] That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Back to Isa.30 and verse 14 reads.
Isa.30:14] And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters’ vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water withal out of the pit.
He shall pour it out and break the vessel so that no Living Water can be given to the evil in that day. Let’s go to Psalms 2 and we’ll read all of it.
Psa.2:1] Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
[2] The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
[3] Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
[4] He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
[5] Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
[6] Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
[7] I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
[8] Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
[9] Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.
[10] Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
[11] Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
[12] Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
Now an appeal to return back to the LORD. Isa.30 and verse 15 reads.
Isa.30:15] For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.
If you would just come back to the LORD, then your rest in Jesus (for he is our sabbath, our Savior) will save you. Let’s go to Psa.116 and verse 7 reads.
Psa.116:7] Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee.
[8] For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.
Back to Isa.30 and verse 16 reads.
Isa.30:16] But ye said, No; for we will flee upon horses; therefore shall ye flee: and, We will ride upon the swift; therefore shall they that pursue you be swift.
Many in the end times will not repent. Many will be as chaff and burn in fire with Satan, because they follow him. They cannot flee from the LORD and his wrath.
Isa.30:17] One thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five shall ye flee: till ye be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain, and as an ensign on an hill.
In Leviticus 26 we are given both blessings and cursings. In verse 36 he tells us at the sound of a shaking leaf shall they flee.
Isa.30:18] And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.
Let’s go to 2Pet.3 and verse 9 reads.
2Pet.3:9] The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Back to Isa.30 and verse 19 reads.
Isa.30:19] For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee.
Speaking of during the millennium after the seventh trump. The LORD has returned and all that waited for him shall be heard. There shall be no more tears. Let’s go to Isaiah 65 and pick it up with verse 9 and it reads.
Isa.65:9] And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there.
We continue down to verse 24 and it reads.
Isa.65:24] And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
Back to Isa.30 and verse 20 reads.
Isa.30:20] And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers:
Our Daily bread is the Word of God, said here for adversity which means; we stayed true to the word of God until the end. And the Living Water which also is Christ for affliction as he was crucified for our sins. Now, what does it mean about these false teachers, and we will see? Let’s go to Psalms 37 and the acrostic verse 34 reads.
Psa.37:34] Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.
When the wicked are cut off we get to see them go up in smoke forever and ever. Back to Isa.30 and verse 21 reads.
Isa.30:21] And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
I can’t help but think of Matthew 7, let’s pick it up with verse 13 and it reads.
Mat.7:13] Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
[14] Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
[15] Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
We see that straight is the way and narrow is the gate to enter into heaven. We find even at this point Jesus felt it important to warn of the false teachers. Back to Isa.30 and verse 22 reads.
Isa.30:22] Ye shall defile also the covering of thy graven images of silver, and the ornament of thy molten images of gold: thou shalt cast them away as a menstruous cloth; thou shalt say unto it, Get thee hence.
Notice the coverings again, Eze.13:17-23. Rapture doctrine is evil and leads many to worship idols and Satan in these end times. Stay away from false teachers, check them to see if they are truly teaching the word of God or not.
Isa.30:23] Then shall he give the rain of thy seed, that thou shalt sow the ground withal; and bread of the increase of the earth, and it shall be fat and plenteous: in that day shall thy cattle feed in large pastures.
Speaking here of the latter rain. We have plenty of times gone to Amos 8:11 where it tells us of; the famine of the end times is not for food or water, but for hearing the word of the LORD. But, right here he promises his elect plenty of rain and bread. This promise is given to us so that we don’t lose hope. Promised in Rev.2 and verse 17 reads.
Rev.2:17] He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
Back to Isa.30 and verse 24 reads.
Isa.30:24] The oxen likewise and the young asses that ear the ground shall eat clean provender, which hath been winnowed with the shovel and with the fan.
Ear is plow, we shall have much of God’s word to eat in these end times, knock and it shall be opened. Plenty of that hidden manna for God’s children. All we need to do is study his word.
Isa.30:25] And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.
When Babylon is fallen, and it will, the stream of waters that pour out from under the very altar of God. That Living Water, Christ and the Holy Spirit for all of God’s children to drink deep of his Word.
Isa.30:26] Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.
This might need a little help. First this word breach is bruise. The Lord Jesus will heal all wounds. Seven means; spiritual completeness. Let’s go to Rev.21 and verse 23 reads.
Rev.21:23] And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
And also, in Rev.22 and verse 5 reads.
Rev.22:5] And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
The brightness of the LORD and of the Lamb are brighter than any sun. This is the Shechinah glory of the LORD. Now for the destruction of Assyria being for told in the end times.
Isa.30:27] Behold, the name of the LORD cometh from far, burning with his anger, and the burden thereof is heavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire:
Heb.12:29, “For our God is a consuming fire.” Rev.1:15 that two-edged sword is the tongue of Christ, The Word of God.
Isa.30:28] And his breath, as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity: and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to err.
The neck given here to point out their weakness.
Isa.30:29] Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of the LORD, to the mighty One of Israel.
This song is the Song of Moses, written in Rev.14 and verse 3 reads.
Rev.14:3] And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.
The elect shall sing this song and have plenty of that Living Water and plenty of bread, that living Word of God, and we shall not want. Back to Isa.30 and verse 30 reads.
Isa.30:30] And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.
We find this Rev.11 and verse 19 reads.
Rev.11:19] And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.
In God’s great and mighty wrath, he will pour it out. Back to Isa.30 and verse 31 reads.
Isa.30:31] For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which smote with a rod.
Like the king of Babylon, the king of Assyria is likened to Satan for the end times.
Isa.30:32] And in every place where the grounded staff shall pass, which the LORD shall lay upon him, it shall be with tabrets and harps: and in battles of shaking will he fight with it.
This is not our fight as some would want you to believe. This fight is the LORD’s and it won’t take him but a minute, for with much wrath, he has been patient.
Isa.30:33] For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.
This will be a great and wonderful day of the LORD. We have waited so long for this day, The LORD’s Day. Let’s go to his throne.
Father, we thank you for your word and ask that you bless all that love you in Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
