Chapter 28 will be divided into two studies, verses 1-13 The condemnation of Ephraim and verse 14-23 Jerusalem is warned. Isaiah 28 and verse 1 reads.
Isa.28:1] Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine!
Ephraim being the largest of the ten tribes is mentioned for all the ten tribes. That when released from captivity in Assyria, going over the Caucasus mountains being called Caucasians for the first time. Migrating through Europe before being planted here in America. Do not overlook this is a woe for pride’s sake. Deception has come to the land because the sixth trump has sounded.
Isa.28:2] Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand.
These hailstones are reserved for just before the seventh trump. Let’s go to Rev.16 and verse 21 reads.
Rev.16:21] And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.
These hailstones weigh about 180 lbs. Let’s also go to Ezekiel 13, speaking to those that lie and deceive the children of God in the end times. Eze.13 and verse 9 reads.
Eze.13:9] And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.
[10] Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace; and one built up a wall, and, lo, others daubed it with untempered morter:
Their lies shall be made known to those who listened to them.
Eze.13:11] Say unto them which daub it with untempered morter, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower; and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall rend it.
Back to Isa.28 and verse 3 reads.
Isa.28:3] The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim, shall be trodden under feet:
This shows us that even among God’s children many will fall due to pride and ignorance. They become evil and have the mark of the beast in their right hand. Meaning they do his works and not the work of the LORD.
Isa.28:4] And the glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley, shall be a fading flower, and as the hasty fruit before the summer; which when he that looketh upon it seeth, while it is yet in his hand he eateth it up.
The first ripe fruit is eaten up by antichrist, how? Because of the teaching of the rapture doctrine in our churches today. They worship the first Christ and did not read God’s word, but chose to listen to false teachers and trusted in them instead of God. Let’s go back to Eze.13 and verse 20 reads.
Eze.13:20] Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly.
This rapture doctrine leads to the great falling away, the apostasy. Back to Isa.28 and verse 5 reads.
Isa.28:5] In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people,
In the LORD’s Day, at the seventh trump. Check out this word diadem in the Strong’s, it is H6843 and is feminine for crown, meaning; for the children of God, his elect, for the marriage to the Lamb.
Isa.28:6] And for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate.
Judgement begins at the pulpit, let’s go to 1Pet.4 and verse 17 reads.
1Pet.4:17] For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
Back to Isa.28 and verse 7 reads.
Isa.28:7] But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.
Many false teachers are in our churches today, whether it be for money or pride, they teach not the word of God. Check your teachers, look and see if what they say can be found in God’s word or not. Let’s go to Jer.17 and verse 5 reads.
Jer.17:5] Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
[6] For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
[7] Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
And Hosea 4 verse 11 reads.
Hos.4:11] Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart.
Back to Isa.28 and verse 8 reads.
Isa.28:8] For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean.
We look at this word tables, and we find it is H7979 shulchân. Pronounced shool-khawn’, and means; 1. of king’s table, private use, sacred uses. So we see it should read, his holy tables are defiled and disgusting to the LORD. They have perverted the sacraments to the LORD. Why or how? Because they worship the antichrist thinking he is the true Christ. Dan.9:27, but let’s go to 2Thes.2 and verse 4 reads.
2Thes.2:4] Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
Back to Isa.28 and verse 9 reads.
Isa.28:9] Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
This is said about Isaiah in a mocking fashion.
Isa.28:10] For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
[11] For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
Still mocking Isaiah, the unbelievers say this. Paul would teach us in 1Cor.14 and verse 21 reads.
1Cor.14:21] In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.
[22] Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.
Back to Isa.28 and verse 12 reads.
Isa.28:12] To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
They wouldn’t listen because their ears are closed. Jesus would teach us in Matthew 11 that if we took his yoke (yoke is for doing work) that we would have rest in him. Mat.11 and verse 28 reads.
Mat.11:28] Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
[29] Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
[30] For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Don’t overlook “And learn of me”, meaning; read the word of God. Back to Isa.28 and verse 13 reads.
Isa.28:13] But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
We here at thechristministries.org will always teach the word of God chapter by chapter, verse by verse for the whole meaning of God’s word. But they wouldn’t read God’s word, and God allows them to be taken captive by the antichrist. Jesus would teach in Mat.21 and verse 42 reads.
Mat.21:42] Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
Jesus is our Rock, he is the Living Word. This is the stone being spoken of here.
Mat.21:43] Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
[44] And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
[45] And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.
Woe to the pastors and priests that teach falsely. Now we go into the second part of this study, Jerusalem warned. Back to Isa.28 and verse 14 reads.
Isa.28:14] Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.
We see here that the house of Judah has the same problem that the house of Israel (Ephraim) did in the first 13 verses. Their priests and pastors teach falsely in their synagogues and churches. I want to first go to Eze.22 and verse 25 reads.
Eze.22:25] There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof.
[26] Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.
[27] Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain.
[28] And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken.
[29] The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully.
[30] And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
[31] Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD.
Now let’s go to Rev.2 and verse 9 reads.
Rev.2:9] I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
So, what we have here is false teachers standing at the pulpits deceiving God’s children both in Israel (Jerusalem) and here in America (Ephraim). Back to Isa.28 and verse 15 reads.
Isa.28:15] Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:
Let’s go to Amos 2 and verse 4 reads.
Amos 2:4] Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have despised the law of the LORD, and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them to err, after the which their fathers have walked:
[5] But I will send a fire upon Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.
Now we can understand the “Woe” for the false teachers in these end times, it won’t be pretty. Back to Isa.28 and verse 16 reads.
Isa.28:16] Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
Jesus Christ is that stone, our Rock. But to those who don’t believe he becomes a stumbling stone. Let’s go to Rom.9 and verse 29 reads.
Rom.9:29] And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.
Esaias is Greek for Isaiah.
Rom.9:30] What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.
[31] But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.
[32] Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
[33] As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
And in Romans 10 verse 11 reads.
Rom.10:11] For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Quoting Isaiah in the book of Romans, God’s word is complete. Back to Isa.28 and verse 17 reads.
Isa.28:17] Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
Speaking of a plumb bob. Holding truth to a straight line. These false teachers will receive justice from the LORD.
Isa.28:18] And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.
The deception by antichrist shall not bind them to death, if they repent when the elect are delivered up to Satan and the Holy Spirit speaks through them.
Isa.28:19] From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report.
Vexation is a terror. They will hear the truth. The power of the elect being delivered up for the will of God to come to pass exactly as it is written.
Isa.28:20] For the bed is shorter than that a man can stretch himself on it: and the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself in it.
As a bed is short sheeted. A very uncomfortable position he puts himself in.
Isa.28:21] For the LORD shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act.
Perazim means a breach. Strange work means remarkable. In his anger the LORD will do exactly as it is written for his will shall be done. And no man can stop what has been written.
Isa.28:22] Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.
This word consumption is the same as in Isa.10:23, it is H3617 kâlâh pronounced kaw-law’, and means; 1. completion, termination, full end, complete destruction, consumption, annihilation. The LORD will not be mocked, it is written that there will be an end to this earth age and there will be a third earth age after this one.
Isa.28:23] Give ye ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech.
Listen up, and hear a proverb. The Lord is wanting us to hear his voice. Let’s go to proverbs 7 and verse 24 reads.
Pro.7:24] Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.
Back to Isa.28 and verse 24 reads.
Isa.28:24] Doth the plowman plow all day to sow? doth he open and break the clods of his ground?
[25] When he hath made plain the face thereof, doth he not cast abroad the fitches, and scatter the cummin, and cast in the principal wheat and the appointed barley and rie in their place?
Does not the farmer work the ground before he broadcasts his seed?
Isa.28:26] For his God doth instruct him to discretion, and doth teach him.
We have the word of God before us, in it is written instructions for us to plant seed, good seed that will produce fruit for him. But hear what Jesus spoke to the false teachers that were in Jerusalem in his own days that apply to us in these days. Mat.23 and verse 23 reads.
Mat.23:23] Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
[24] Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.
[25] Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
[26] Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
[27] Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.
[28] Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
[29] Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,
[30] And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
[31] Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.
Jesus just told them to their faces that they were Kenites. And the false teachers that lie to deceive God’s children today are also Kenites. Back to Isa.28 and verse 27 reads.
Isa.28:27] For the fitches are not threshed with a threshing instrument, neither is a cart wheel turned about upon the cummin; but the fitches are beaten out with a staff, and the cummin with a rod.
[28] Bread corn is bruised; because he will not ever be threshing it, nor break it with the wheel of his cart, nor bruise it with his horsemen.
[29] This also cometh forth from the LORD of hosts, which is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in working.
When we study God’s word and do his commandments, he teaches us how to plant a harvest that is right, that is righteous. Let’s go to his throne.
