ISAIAH 18

In Isaiah 18 we find America in the Bible.

I have heard for many years about America being in the bible. I have studied it over and over and have concluded Isaiah chapter 18 could be no other country but America. But first let’s look at the history of nations. It began with Abraham. Abraham had his first son Ishmael through an Egyptian named Hagar, a house maid for his wife Sarah. Ishmael would become father of twelve sons and these would become all of the Arabic nations today. He then would have another son called Issac with his wife Sarah, Isaac would have twins and their names were Essau and Jacob. These were pure Adamic seed line from Adam. Essau would have twelve sons that would become nations also. These would be the nations that would be known as the USSR (Russia today). But these would not be pure because Essau would take wives from other nations, giving up his inheritance. But Jacob would keep his seed pure and also have twelve sons and these would become the twelve tribes of Israel. This is how God could promise Abraham that he would be father of many nations. Now, let’s focus on Jacob. Jacob would wrestle with God all night and in the early morning God touched his sinew ending the wrestling match. God told Jacob his name is now Israel, meaning “One who prevailed with God.” notice he prevailed with God and not against God. Jacob, or Israel now, had received the inheritance from God, that through his seed would come the Christ, Savior of the world, and his children would be many nations also. After king Solomon died, his son would divide Israel into two houses, the House of Judah and the House of Israel. The House of Judah would become the nation of Israel today, and the parable of the fig tree would come to pass. Jer.24. And the House of Israel after they were sent into captivity to Assyria would be released over the Caucuses mountains being called Caucasian for the first time. They would become all the Christian nations in the world today though still divided, we acknowledge we are still brothers with the country of Israel. This brings us to America, where all twelve tribes of Israel reside today. Prophesied long ago in Isaiah 18 and verse 1 reads.

Isa.18:1] Woe to the land shadowing with wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia:

Standing in Jerusalem today and looking over the upper part of Africa you see America.

Isa.18:2] That sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes upon the waters, saying, Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation scattered and peeled, to a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden down, whose land the rivers have spoiled!

These ambassadors are for the first time in history all in one place, we call them the United Nations today, and are headquartered in N.Y. To a nation tall and clean shaven. To a people terrible from their beginning? Let’s look at this word Terrible, it is H3372 Yare in Hebrew, pronounced Yaw-Ray. And means; morally revere, to stand in Awe of or to be Awed by. To fear, reverence, honor, respect. America is the lone super power of all nations in the world today. Meted out and trodden down; we have our ups and downs but we always prevail with God. Whose land the rivers have spoiled, we have the Mississippi, the Arkansas, the Red River and many more that have given us much blessings.

Isa.18:3] All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, when he lifteth up an ensign on the mountains; and when he bloweth a trumpet, hear ye.

All the nations in the world fly their flags at the United Nations today. But one stands above all, America’s. Notice he blows the trumpet in the same sentence. Watchmen watch.

Isa.18:4] For so the LORD said unto me, I will take my rest, and I will consider in my dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs, and like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.

The LORD has rested another 7,000 years now and the harvest is near.

Isa.18:5] For afore the harvest, when the bud is perfect, and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall both cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks, and take away and cut down the branches.

The Lord will prune us. We need to understand 1Cor.10:11and it reads.

1Cor.10:11] Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

One day with the Lord is a thousand years to us. He rested on the 7th day and he has rested for another 7 days, and now comes the pruning. Those branches that do not produce fruit will be cut off and tossed on the fire. Back to Isaiah 18 and verse 6 reads.

Isa.18:6] They shall be left together unto the fowls of the mountains, and to the beasts of the earth: and the fowls shall summer upon them, and all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.

The nations shall feast on America, as predators always do.

Isa.18:7] In that time shall the present be brought unto the LORD of hosts of a people scattered and peeled, and from a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden under foot, whose land the rivers have spoiled, to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, the mount Zion.

The Lord promised he would scatter and plant his children, and I believe this chapter lets us know that God had a plan long ago for America. America is the only nation in the world now or ever that guarantees our rights come from God and not from man. Why this is so important comes from our Declaration of Independence and our Constitution. Knowing we have the right to free speech and freedom of religion is the corner stone that no other country has ever given to its people. If your freedom comes from man, then man can take your freedom away. But if your rights come from God then no man can take them from you. God Bless America, and God bless you for believing in Jesus our Christ. Let’s go to his throne.

Father, we thank you for your word and ask that you bless all that love you in Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
