Today in Isaiah we find chapter 16 continues from 15. It is a continuation of the oracle concerning Moab. Isa.16 and verse 1 reads.
Isa.16:1] Send ye the lamb to the ruler of the land from Sela to the wilderness, unto the mount of the daughter of Zion.
Let’s read that very closely. Send you the Lamb of God to the ruler, the ruler of the land from Sela (Petra) to the wilderness. Send the Word of God to those who are in captivity, and bring them to Mount Zion, Jerusalem. Bring them back to me, saith the LORD. Let’s go to Isa.42 and verse 11 reads.
Isa.42:11] Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.
[12] Let them give glory unto the LORD, and declare his praise in the islands.
[13] The LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies.
We see here that it is spoken of the end times, at the seventh trump. Back to Isa.16 and verse 2 reads.
Isa.16:2] For it shall be, that, as a wandering bird cast out of the nest, so the daughters of Moab shall be at the fords of Arnon.
Should be plenty of water, but because of the famine of the end times there is no Living Water. They don’t have Christ.
Isa.16:3] Take counsel, execute judgment; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday; hide the outcasts; bewray not him that wandereth.
Plead with them. Feed my lambs and feed my sheep. Remember verse 1, go to them and bring them the Word of God, bring them unto Him.
Isa.16:4] Let mine outcasts dwell with thee, Moab; be thou a covert to them from the face of the spoiler: for the extortioner is at an end, the spoiler ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land.
Let’s get a better look at our jobs today, our destiny. 2Pet.3:9 and it reads.
2Pet.3:9] The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Now we have been here before, to see how God loves all his children. But let’s read on a little more, verse 10 continues.
2Pet.3:10] But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Elements are rudiments, all evil.
2Pet.3:11] Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
[12] Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
We can now see what our jobs are as his elect, to help bring those who are held captive in these end times to the LORD. And we do this with his Word, (verse 1). Back to Isa.16 and verse 5 reads.
Isa.16:5] And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.
Mercy is future, established means secured. Hasting means prompt or immediate. Speaking of the judgement seat of our Lord. The people that are taken captive should not be confused with the rulers who hold them captive. Held captive with lies and deception in these end times. Remember Satan is here at the sixth trump and he has many who are marked in the foreheads (meaning deceived) and many are marked in their hands (meaning they do the works for Satan). But when the true Christ comes at the seventh trump all will bow to him, because he alone is God. Let’s go Luke where we find Gabriel prophesying this to Mary before she conceived. Luke 1 and verse 32 reads.
Luke 1:32] He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
[33] And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
Back to Isa.16 and verse 6 reads.
Isa.16:6] We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud: even of his haughtiness, and his pride, and his wrath: but his lies shall not be so.
[7] Therefore shall Moab howl for Moab, every one shall howl: for the foundations of Kir-hareseth shall ye mourn; surely they are stricken.
Kirhareseth H7025 means; wall of potsherds. One of the chief strongholds of Moab. Pride was Satan’s downfall. This wall of potsherds, should bring to mind Psalms 2, and verse 1 reads.
Psa.2:1] Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
[2] The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
They go against the true Christ and they stand with the antichrist.
Psa.2:3] Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
[4] He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
[5] Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
[6] Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
[7] I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
[8] Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
Now the reason we came here.
Psa.2:9] Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.
[10] Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
[11] Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
[12] Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
Trust in the LORD and not man. Jer.17:5-7. Back to Isa.16 and verse 8 reads.
Isa.16:8] For the fields of Heshbon languish, and the vine of Sibmah: the lords of the heathen have broken down the principal plants thereof, they are come even unto Jazer, they wandered through the wilderness: her branches are stretched out, they are gone over the sea.
Who is the vine? Christ is the vine and we are the branches. Those who don’t produce will be cut off and burned in the fire. Now, Heshbon means; strong hold, they languish. Sibmah means spice or fragrance, they have been broken spiritually. Jazer means helpful or helped, they also go into captivity (wilderness). But what I want you to take away from this is they are all on the east side of the Jordan river and he is speaking to Moab.
Isa.16:9] Therefore I will bewail with the weeping of Jazer the vine of Sibmah: I will water thee with my tears, O Heshbon, and Elealeh: for the shouting for thy summer fruits and for thy harvest is fallen.
Christ is our daily bread and our Living Water, but there will be a famine in the land. Amos 8:11 reads.
Amos 8:11] Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD.
This is our job as his elect, to go to them and bring them the word of the LORD. Also, remember Isa.15:4, Elealeh means God is ascending. Meaning going up or away from. The famine has come. Now, let’s focus on the summer fruits falling. I want to go to Revelation 6 and verse 13 reads.
Rev.6:13] And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
[14] And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
Did you catch “heaven departed”, Elealeh. This is what Isaiah is talking about, we are to separate ourselves from those who don’t love God and focus on those who do love God. For it is those only we can teach the Word of God to and bring them back to the Father. Back to Isa.16 and verse 10 reads.
Isa.16:10] And gladness is taken away, and joy out of the plentiful field; and in the vineyards there shall be no singing, neither shall there be shouting: the treaders shall tread out no wine in their presses; I have made their vintage shouting to cease.
Their harvest has failed and they have no feast to celebrate when the true Christ comes. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Isa.16:11] Wherefore my bowels shall sound like an harp for Moab, and mine inward parts for Kir-haresh.
When the LORD cries out, something big is about to happen. In this case, the seventh trump will sound and it is finished.
Isa.16:12] And it shall come to pass, when it is seen that Moab is weary on the high place, that he shall come to his sanctuary to pray; but he shall not prevail.
Now we see Moab is likened to Satan sitting on a throne. Let’s go to Dan.9:27 and it reads.
Dan.9:27] And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
We see here that Satan comes in the middle of the week, which stands for the seven years of tribulation. Now we will go to Mark 13 and pick it up with verse 11 and it reads.
Mark 13:11] But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
This will be our destiny, to stand before Satan when he is in Jerusalem claiming to be Jesus.
Mark 13:12] Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.
Death is another name for Satan. They do it out of love, being deceived, they think Satan is Jesus.
Mark 13:13] And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
[14] But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
Jesus just brought Daniel the prophet into the New Testament. (Those whose eyes and ears are open, will understand).
Mark 13:15] And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:
[16] And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.
[17] But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
Woe to them that have the mark of the beast in their foreheads and in their hands.
Mark 13:18] And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.
Out of season, speaking of the harvest.
Mark 13:19] For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.
[20] And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect’s sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
Now we go to Rev.9 and find how short the days are shortened to and verse 3 reads.
Rev.9:3] And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
Scorpions have no stomach so they catch their prey and ingest into them their fluids turning their backbones into mush.
Rev.9:4] And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.
Having the seal of God in our foreheads means we know his word. This gives us a good reason why we should study his word.
Rev.9:5] And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.
Five months given here, Jesus said he would shorten the time for the elect’s sake. And now we know it is shortened to five months. Speaking of the seven years of tribulation spoken by Daniel the prophet. Dan.9:27.
Rev.9:6] And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.
[7] And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.
We see here these locusts are not insects but men. The time of the locust is May thru September, 5 months.
Rev.9:8] And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.
[9] And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.
[10] And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.
Again, he lets us know that it is for five months. Giving Satan only 2 and a half months in Jerusalem, because he comes in the midst of the week. Let’s go now to 2Thes.2 and verse 3 reads.
2Thes.2:3] Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Jesus also told us not to be deceived. This falling away is the great apostasy. The son of perdition is Satan.
2Thes.2:4] Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
God’s word is simple when you study and take notes, it is written and will happen exactly as it is written. Back to Isa.16 and verse 13 reads.
Isa.16:13] This is the word that the LORD hath spoken concerning Moab since that time.
Spoken for Moab then and also as prophecy for us in these end times. 1Cor.10:11.
Isa.16:14] But now the LORD hath spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of an hireling, and the glory of Moab shall be contemned, with all that great multitude; and the remnant shall be very small and feeble.
Let’s look at this word “Years”, H8141 and means; as a measure of time. We are coming to the end of this second earth age. Ion in the Greek, a length of time. Now let’s go to Job 7 and verse 1 reads.
Job 7:1] Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? are not his days also like the days of an hireling?
[2] As a servant earnestly desireth the shadow, and as an hireling looketh for the reward of his work:
Appointed time, hireling, rewards for our works. Speaking definitely of these end times.
Job 7:3] So am I made to possess months of vanity, and wearisome nights are appointed to me.
The elect shall feel very small and feeble, humbled. But we will stand and serve the LORD for our rewards are in heaven. Let’s go to his throne.
Father, we thank you for your word and ask that you bless all that love you in Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
