In Isaiah today we have several titles for this chapter, they are. Verses 1-2, Israel to be preserved. Verses 3-23, the proverb against the king of Babylon. Verses 24-28, Assyria will be destroyed. And verses 29-32, a warning to Palestina. Isa.14 and verse 1 reads.
Isa.14:1] For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.
Jacob is used here for all twelve tribes of Israel. The strangers are the gentiles that worship Christ and dwell among us.
Isa.14:2] And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.
These prophecies are for the end times, the whole world has gone into captivity to the antichrist. Let’s move ahead to Isaiah chapter 60, and verse 3 reads.
Isa.60:3] And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
Jesus is that Light. Think of America today.
Isa.60:4] Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.
[5] Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.
We see that America has gathered all races from around the world, speaking of those who will be converted to Christianity.
Isa.60:6] The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall shew forth the praises of the LORD.
They will increase the wealth of the nation, and worship the LORD.
Isa.60:7] All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto thee: they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar, and I will glorify the house of my glory.
Nebaioth is the first born of Ishmael, then Kedar. 1Chro.1:29. Even the Arabs of today will be converted and will come and worship at the LORD’s altar.
Isa.60:8] Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?
[9] Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the LORD thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.
These ships of Tarshish mean; commerce. God and Christ are said in one verse.
Isa.60:10] And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee.
The LORD shall never leave or forsake us. Back to Isa.14 and verse 3 reads.
Isa.14:3] And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,
Christ is our Sabbath, our rest. Though Israel and Judah would both go into captivity, this is written for us because we will go into captivity when the antichrist is here at the sixth trump. We need to keep perspective here in the prophets. Let’s go to Ezra, where they have come out of captivity, let’s look at it as if it were the fifth trump. Ezra 9 and verse 8 reads.
Ezra 9:8] And now for a little space grace hath been shewed from the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage.
This being for us in this fifth trump, a time for learning and a time for eyes to be opened.
Ezra 9:9] For we were bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem.
God is our wall, our hedge from Satan. Back to Isa.14 and verse 4 reads.
Isa.14:4] That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!
Let’s first go to Habakkuk 2 and verse 6 reads.
Hab.2:6] Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, Woe to him that increaseth that which is not his! how long? and to him that ladeth himself with thick clay!
And we continue with verse 12 and it reads.
Hab.2:12] Woe to him that buildeth a town with blood, and stablisheth a city by iniquity!
[13] Behold, is it not of the LORD of hosts that the people shall labour in the very fire, and the people shall weary themselves for very vanity?
All this is for a like in the end times when Satan falls at the seventh trump. Rev.18 and verse 16 reads.
Rev.18:16] And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!
Decked out with royalty.
Rev.18:17] For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,
Keep all this in mind for the end times, for these are the times in which we live. Back to Isa.14 and verse 5 reads.
Isa.14:5] The LORD hath broken the staff of the wicked, and the sceptre of the rulers.
The LORD prevails against Satan. Let’s go to Psalms 125 and verse 3 reads.
Psa.125:3] For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.
They do this by worshipping the antichrist, they are deceived. Back to Isa.14 and verse 6 reads.
Isa.14:6] He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, and none hindereth.
No one can stop it.
Isa.14:7] The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.
So that we know the timing of what was said here. Let’s go to Psa.47 and verse 1 reads.
Psa.47:1] O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.
[2] For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.
[3] He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.
[4] He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.
Selah H5542 seh’-law in Hebrew and means; to pause the music and meditate. Also to lift up and exalt. The point I wanted to make here is that the seventh trump has sounded and all will bow and worship the LORD and sing praise to him. Back to Isa.14 and verse 8 reads.
Isa.14:8] Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us.
Do not be deceived by this verse, let’s look closely at it. He, God, is talking to Satan here. During the sixth trump the whole world is deceived and worship Satan. These fir trees and cedars of Lebanon are the gentiles and children of Israel, again they have been deceived.
Isa.14:9] Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.
Hell is grave, the grave has opened for you Satan. The spiritually dead have worshipped you, Satan. Their thrones, not the throne of God.
Isa.14:10] All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us?
Are you as weak as we are Satan?
Isa.14:11] Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.
Let’s go to Ezekiel 28 where Satan is called Tyrus, and see what God told Ezekiel about him. Eze.28 God speaking and verse 11 reads.
Eze.28:11] Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
[12] Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
God made Satan very beautiful. As we will see, Satan earned great privileges.
Eze.28:13] Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
Demoted to the serpent in the garden of Eden. Note this covering, Fig Tree, hidden.
Eze.28:14] Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
Anointed a cherub to cover the mercy seat, he had earned it. And he walked upon the very altar of God.
Eze.28:15] Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
Don’t overlook he was created, created with all of us, another child of God as we are. Until sin was found in him, he became proud and thought he could sit on the mercy seat. That seat is for Jesus Christ.
Eze.28:16] By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
[17] Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
That those that worship you will watch and see this. And here is his sentence.
Eze.28:18] Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
He will be turned into ashes from within. At the end of the millennium, Satan will be consumed by God, for our God is a consuming fire. Heb.12:29. Back to Isa.14 and verse 12 reads.
Isa.14:12] How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
Lucifer, H1966 hêylêl in Hebrew and means; the morning star. First let’s notice he is cut down. Gideon means; cutter downer. Something to consider. Now, let’s look at Revelation 22 where we find that Jesus is the Bright and morning star. Verse 16 reads.
Rev.22:16] I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
Satan has many names and we find them throughout the bible. Lucifer should not surprise us, he pretends to be Jesus but is the antichrist. Back to Isa.14 and verse 13 reads.
Isa.14:13] For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
Let’s go to 2Thes.2 and verse 3 reads.
2Thes.2:3] Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
[4] Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
Back to Isa.14 and verse 14 reads.
Isa.14:14] I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
When he exalts himself showing himself he is God. 2Thes.2:4. He might think this but God shall smite him and all that follow him.
Isa.14:15] Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
He will be cast into the pit during the millennium, and then released for a short time before he is consumed from within. But as for the king of Babylon, read Daniel 4, a chapter that king Nebuchadnezzar wrote himself. Back to Isa.14 and verse 16 reads.
Isa.14:16] They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;
Let’s go to Rev.13 and verse 18 reads.
Rev.13:18] Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
That would be at the sixth seal and the sixth trump and the sixth vial, 666. Back to Isa.14 and verse 17 reads.
Isa.14:17] That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?
Led all the world into confusion, deception, captivity.
Isa.14:18] All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.
[19] But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.
Notice a couple of names for Satan here, abominable branch for one. He will not prevail against God.
Isa.14:20] Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.
He will never be thought of again. There will be no more tears in heaven after the millennium.
Isa.14:21] Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.
This is at the beginning of the millennium. Cain was a city builder and this pertains to his offspring, the Kenites.
Isa.14:22] For I will rise up against them, saith the LORD of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the LORD.
He cuts off all of them from eternity.
Isa.14:23] I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith the LORD of hosts.
They will not be any more, God destroys and rebuilds.
Isa.14:24] The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:
As it is written, it shall come to pass exactly as I have said.
Isa.14:25] That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.
Note that we have here Assyrian, we have had both Assyria and Babylon in this chapter. All this is an example for us in these end times. 1Cor.10 and verse 11 reads.
1Cor.10:11] Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
Understanding prophecy is the most important thing we can learn in God’s word. Back to Isa.14 and verse 26 reads.
Isa.14:26] This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.
To free those that are enslaved in the end times from Satan. The LORD is in charge.
Isa.14:27] For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?
Who can, nobody!
Isa.14:28] In the year that king Ahaz died was this burden.
You can find this in 2Kings16:20. But this was giving us a date. 715 B.C. What this means is king Ahaz was the only threat to Palestine when he died. Let this wake us up in these end times.
Isa.14:29] Rejoice not thou, whole Palestina, because the rod of him that smote thee is broken: for out of the serpent’s root shall come forth a cockatrice, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.
Now we have the prophecy of the locust army. Israel today is fighting this fight for the world and they have but one ally, that’s America.
Isa.14:30] And the firstborn of the poor shall feed, and the needy shall lie down in safety: and I will kill thy root with famine, and he shall slay thy remnant.
First let’s go to Amos 8 and verse 11 reads.
Amos 8:11] Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
This begins the sixth trump, and the two witnesses (Remnant) shall be slain. But Satan only can slay them, hence “He” in that verse. Still speaking to Palestine and verse 31 continues.
Isa.14:31] Howl, O gate; cry, O city; thou, whole Palestina, art dissolved: for there shall come from the north a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed times.
In the temple of the LORD, the north gate is where they brought the sacrifice into the temple. This would be Jesus, the Lamb of God, coming in with a great army.
Isa.14:32] What shall one then answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD hath founded Zion, and the poor of his people shall trust in it.
We shall take refuge in the Lord and put our trust in him. Zec.11 and verse 11 reads.
Zec.11:11] And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the LORD.
We will wait for the true Christ and not be deceived by the antichrist. Great study, let’s go to his throne.
Father, we thank you for your word and ask that you bless all that love you in Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
