Today’s study can be entitled, The righteous reign of the Branch of Jesse. Isaiah 11 and verse 1 reads.

Isa.11:1] And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:

This stem and Branch is of course Jesus Christ. This Branch is H5342 nêtser in Hebrew and means; a descendant. Let’s first go to Acts 13 and verse 23 reads.

Acts 13:23] Of this man’s seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:

And in Zec.6 we have the promise from the LORD, and verse 12 reads.

Zec.6:12] And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD:

Promised from the LORD in the Old Testament, shame on those who teach their congregation not to read the Old Testament. Branch here is H6780 tsemach in Hebrew and means; of Messiah from Davidic tree, or of David’s seed line. Back to Isa.11 and verse 2 reads.

Isa.11:2] And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

The seven Spirits of God from Rev.5:12 and it reads.

Rev.5:12] Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

Now let’s hear from the last prophet, John the Baptist. John 1 and verse 32 reads.

John 1:32] And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

This vision was for only John the Baptist to see.

John 1:33] And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
[34] And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

The LORD himself spoke to John the Baptist and gave him this vision that when he saw it, he would know that this was the Son of God. Back to Isa.11 and verse 3 reads.

Isa.11:3] And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
[4] But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.

Out of his mouth comes that two-edged sword, the Word of God. Let’s go 2Thes.2 and verse 8 reads.

2Thes.2:8] And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

And in Revelation 19 verse 11 reads.

Rev.19:11] And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

Back to Isa.11 and verse 5 reads.

Isa.11:5] And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

This should remind you of our Gospel Armor, what we will gird ourselves with. The Word of God, the reason we study every day. If ever your children ask you if our pets will be in heaven, read them these next two verses.

Isa.11:6] The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
[7] And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

God created everything for his pleasure. Rev.4:11. Notice all the animals that are also in heaven, yet none are carnivores. They won’t be eating each other, but on the contrary shall get along. Peace. We will be all in spiritual bodies, no flesh. Let’s go to Gen.1 to the fifth day of creation, and verse 20 reads.

Gen.1:20] And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

This word Life in the Hebrew is soul. Back to Isaiah 11 and verse 8 reads.

Isa.11:8] And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den.

It will be safe for the children of God to be there because the serpent’s seed will not be there. There will be no actual children in heaven, but that we all are his children and he is our Father.

Isa.11:9] They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

Won’t it be great when all is said and done and we are in the third and final earth and heaven age.

Isa.11:10] And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

Promised for the gentiles also. Let’s go to Mat.2 and verse 1 reads.

Mat.2:1] Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
[2] Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

And Romans 15 verse 9 reads.

Rom.15:9] And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.
[10] And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.
[11] And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people.
[12] And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.

Back to Isa.11 and verse 11 reads.

Isa.11:11] And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

Let’s look at this closely, he just said the second coming, meaning the second advent. But looking closer we see, “To recover the remnant of his people”, that’s his Elect. And continues with “Which shall be left”. Those from the teachings of Jesus in Mat.24 and verse 40 reads.

Mat.24:40] Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Meaning we keep working in the field (this world). In the first advent Christ was born. The second advent, which we just read of in Mat.24 comes at the seventh trump. Let’s go to Zec.9 and read about both.

Zec.9:9] Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

That was the first and now comes the second advent as prophesied by Zechariah.

Zec.9:10] And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from river even to the ends of the earth.

Back to Isaiah 11 and verse 12 reads.

Isa.11:12] And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

Speaking here of his remnant or elect. Let’s go back to Mat.24 and verse 31 reads.

Mat.24:31] And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

We in these end times should not worry, the Lord will never leave us or forsake us. Back to Isa.11 and verse 13 reads.

Isa.11:13] The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.

There will be no more consternation between Israel and Judah. This promise is also given in Jeremiah 3 and verse 18 reads.

Jer.3:18] In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers.

Always a second witness in God’s word. Back to Isa.11 and verse 14 reads.

Isa.11:14] But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.

Christ shall lead us and we will have victory in Jesus. Let’s go to Dan.11 and pick it up with verse 41 and it reads.

Dan.11:41] He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.

They will obey him.

Dan.11:42] He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.

Back to Isa.11 and verse 15 reads.

Isa.11:15] And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over dryshod.

The key word here is tongue. Let’s go to Rev.16 and pick it up with verse 12 and it reads.

Rev.16:12] And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.
[13] And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

The dragon, the beast and the false prophet are Satan. What comes out of his mouth, lies and deceit. Jesus would tell us in Mark 13 and Mat.24 “Do not be deceived”. Back to Isa.11 and verse 16 reads.

Isa.11:16] And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.

Came out of Egypt with a cloud by day and a fire by night. Let’s go to Exodus 14 and read what God said to Moses and his children. Isaiah just said it would be like in the day of the coming out of Egypt. Exo.14 and verse 14 reads.

Exo.14:14] The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
[15] And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:
[16] But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.

Now let’s drop down and pick it up with verse 26 and it reads.

Exo.14:26] And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.
[27] And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.
[28] And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.
[29] But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

The Living Waters will protect the children of God in these end times. Can we see how prophecy works, a like for them is a like for us in these end times. We will keep studying the prophets until there is no doubt that God’s word will happen exactly as it is written. Let’s go to his throne.

Father, we thank you for your word and ask that you bless all that love you in Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
