Galatians 4 and verse 1 reads.

Gal.4:1] Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
[2] But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.

A child needs a parent or a guardian over them until maturity.

Gal.4:3] Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:

Elements is rudiments. G4747 in the Strongs’. The evil of the world. So, as children we being born in this world, are in bondage of this world. Until we come to Christ, being freed from bondage and through Grace are given life everlasting. Maturity.

Gal.4:4] But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

Under the law, that’s right it is law that ALL be born of flesh. This right here tells us we have three heaven and earth ages. God destroyed the first to bring in the second. We were with the Father before He placed us in our mother’s womb. Jesus talked about this law in John 3:5-6 and it reads.

John 3:5] Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
[6] That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Notice the two differences between flesh and spirit. We must come through the water, the womb, but also in Spirit. That Spirit is the Holy Spirit, we must come to him in the flesh through Jesus to make it to heaven. Back to Gal.4 and verse 5 reads.

Gal.4:5] To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
[6] And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

That in the flesh we come back to him. We find in Ezekiel the redemption of our souls and who it is that owns it. Eze.18 and verse 4 reads.

Eze.18:4] Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

Another name for Jesus is Redeemer. Back to Gal.4 and verse 7 reads.

Gal.4:7] Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

Through Jesus Christ we become Heirs to the LORD as if we were his only begotten. The love and compassion of God for all of us.

Gal.4:8] Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.
[9] But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?

Why go back under law as if the price for repentance had not been paid? In other word’s why not just repent and be forgiven. Do not go back to the worldly evils once you have come to the LORD. Let the world go, it is evil, God is spiritual, God is salvation.

Gal.4:10] Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.
[11] I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.

Paul is running out of patience it seems. But he will prevail eventually. We need to remember this as we teach others, a good example.

Gal.4:12] Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am; for I am as ye are: ye have not injured me at all.

This is hurting you rather than me, he is saying.

Gal.4:13] Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first.

Even though he had problems seeing, he was still excepted by them.

Gal.4:14] And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.
[15] Where is then the blessedness ye spake of? for I bear you record, that, if it had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me.

Showing right here that Paul was blind. Paul also knew he was loved by them very much.

Gal.4:16] Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?
[17] They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them.
[18] But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing, and not only when I am present with you.

Paul is thankful that he was still received by them even though he had his problem seeing.

Gal.4:19] My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

Spiritually speaking. His tenderness is felt in his writing.

Gal.4:20] I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you.

Not knowing if he is being too hard on them, wants them to learn tough love.

Gal.4:21] Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?

Under the law is speaking of if they really understand the law, here is where it comes from. From Genesis, from the writings of Moses. Then Paul gets deep, but we will explain as it goes.

Gal.4:22] For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.

The first was Ishmael born from the bondmaid which was Hagar, an Egyptian. The second was Isaac born from the freewoman which was Sarah, Abraham’s wife.

Gal.4:23] But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.

Paying close attention to what was just said, this is the Key of David. The promise was through Isaac the seed would come, that being our Lord Jesus Christ.

Gal.4:24] Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.

Agar is Greek for Hagar. Now this just said that there were two covenants. The first was made with Abraham through Isaac and the second with Ishmael. To understand this, we need to go to Genesis 21 and read 9-21.

Gen.21:9] And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking.

This was Hagar’s fault, never mock your master.

Gen.21:10] Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.
[11] And the thing was very grievous in Abraham’s sight because of his son.
[12] And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.

This was the promise, in Isaac thy seed be called. God told Abraham to listen to Sarah and to do what Sarah asked, because Sarah was his wife. A marriage is holy, and should not be allowed to be put asunder.

Gen.21:13] And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.

This is the promise of Ishmael, that he would become a nation as well. These are the Arab nations of today, they too will have 12 tribes. For Ishmael would have twelve children also. You see, Ishmael would have twelve children, Jacob, Isaac’s son, would have twelve children and Esau, Jacob’s brother would have twelve children. These make up the children of Abraham, 36 tribes in all. Father of many nations. Back to Genesis 21 and verse 14 reads.

Gen.21:14] And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beer-sheba.
[15] And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs.
[16] And she went, and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a bowshot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against him, and lift up her voice, and wept.

Abraham only gave her a bottle of water and she went to Beersheba which means a well of seven oaths. Abraham, in faith, left it in the LORD’s hands.

Gen.21:17] And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.
[18] Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation.
[19] And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.
[20] And God was with the lad; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer.
[21] And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran: and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.

This is the promise for Ishmael, that he would become a great nation, the Arabian nations of today. But follow the genealogy, Abraham being Adamic, mixed with an Egyptian woman who gave to Ishmael an Egyptian wife. Back to Gal.4 and verse 25 reads.

Gal.4:25] For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.

Sinai in the Arabic tongue is rock. Not our Rock. They are in bondage without Christ.

Gal.4:26] But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

Through Isaac thy seed be called. Through this seed the Christ would be born, Salvation for the whole world.

Gal.4:27] For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.

Written in Isaiah 54:1 and it reads.

Isa.54:1] Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.

And in Mark 13:17 Jesus tells us.

Mark 13:17] But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

In Isaiah he is speaking about how the desolate, or those who are deceived, are many more than those not deceived. Jesus is talking about when the sixth trump sounds and Satan is standing in Jerusalem claiming to be Christ and is not. Meaning, those that are with child are no longer virgins. Back to Gal.4 and verse 28 reads.

Gal.4:28] Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
[29] But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.
[30] Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.

This scripture we read in Genesis.

Gal.4:31] So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.

If any come to the Lord then he is a child of God. We wait for that marriage to the Lamb, have your oil in your lamps full. The oil is truth, it is the Word of God. Let’s go to his throne.

Father, we thank you for your word and ask that you bless all that love you in Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
