ISAIAH 65

In today’s study verses 1-16 is titled The Rebellious will be Punished. And verse 17-25 is titled New Heavens and a New Earth. Isaiah 65 and verse 1 reads.

Isa.65:1] I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name.

Answer to the Prayer from Isa.64. Let’s go to Romans 9 and verse 24 reads.

Rom.9:24] Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
[25] As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.

Osee is Greek for Hosea in Hebrew. Let’s go to Hosea 1 and verse 8 reads.

Hos.1:8] Now when she had weaned Lo-ruhamah, she conceived, and bare a son.

Lo-ruhamah means; not loved.

Hos.1:9] Then said God, Call his name Lo-ammi: for ye are not my people, and I will not be your God.

Lo-ammi means; not my people.

Hos.1:10] Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.

All of this is said for us to understand that in the end times many will fall away. Called the great apostacy, but that with the love and mercy of the LORD he takes us back. But we notice he also takes back his other children, the gentiles. Now, let’s go to Romans 10 and verse 20 reads.

Rom.10:20] But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.

Back to Isaiah 65 and verse 2 reads.

Isa.65:2] I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts;

Let’s go back to Romans 10 and the next verse, 21 reads.

Rom.10:21] But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

So, we see here that indeed it was Israel being spoken to here in Isaiah 65. It is written in the Song of Moses, which those who overcome the antichrist sing in Rev.15:3, Due.32 and verse 5 reads.

Due.32:5] They have corrupted themselves, their spot is not the spot of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation.

God’s people, Ammi, sing the Song of Moses because they came back to the LORD, and the LORD gave them his Living Word. That manna from heaven. Back to Isa.65 and verse 3 reads.

Isa.65:3] A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick;

Lo-ammi, not my people do this. Let’s go back to the Song of Moses, Due.32 and verse 20 reads.

Due.32:20] And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.
[21] They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.

This is the spirit of prophecy, what has happened will happen again. the people fell away from the LORD, and will fall away again in the end times. Let’s go to Isa.1 and verse 9 reads.

Isa.1:9] Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.
[10] Hear the word of the LORD, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.

If not for the Remnant, God’s Elect, and that the LORD has shortened these days, no flesh would be saved. Mark 13 and verse 20 reads.

Mark 13:20] And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect’s sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.

Back to Isa.65 and verse 4 reads.

Isa.65:4] Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine’s flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;

First, we need to remember this is written to the Rebellious house of Israel. Remain among the graves simply means the spiritually dead. I want you to notice that swine is an abominable thing to the LORD, a very unclean thing to eat. Jesus told us in Matthew 5 and verse 17 reads.

Mat.5:17] Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
[18] For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Now let’s go to the law. Leviticus 11 is where we find the food laws. Leviticus 11 and verse 7 reads.

Lev.11:7] And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.
[8] Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.

Breaking the health laws is a sin against your flesh, not against your soul. The LORD created our bodies and knows what is good or bad for them. But, let’s look closer at what was said in verse 4 above, it reads.

Isa.65:4] Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine’s flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;

This word monuments is H5341 nâtsar pronounced naw-tsar’. And has two meanings;1. to guard, keep secret. 2. watchman (participle). The spiritually dead keep in secret places, guarded with watchmen of their own. Back to Isa.65 and verse 5 reads.

Isa.65:5] Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.

Those in their secret places now have another strike against them, another abomination to the LORD. They think they’re better than you, stay away because they don’t want your stink on them. It is they that are like smoke in the nostrils of the LORD, and it is they that will go up in smoke. Let’s go to Jude and verse 16 reads.

Jude 16] These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.

They say I am holier than thou.

Jude 17] But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
[18] How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
[19] These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

They separate themselves into their secret places and are not God’s people, they are Lo-ammi. But so that we don’t fall into this trap of egotism let’s go to Matthew 9 and verse 10 reads.

Mat.9:10] And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.
[11] And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
[12] But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
[13] But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Jesus gives us another example in Luke 18 and verse 9 reads.

Luke 18:9] And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
[10] Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
[11] The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
[12] I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
[13] And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
[14] I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Two great examples Jesus gives to us, because verse 5 says it is a great sin to say I am holier than thou. Back to Isa.65 and verse 6 reads.

Isa.65:6] Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom,

Still speaking of that rebellious generation. Where is this written, we find it in Psalms 50 and verse 3 reads.

Psa.50:3] Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.

Let’s go to Malachi 3 and verse 16 reads.

Mal.3:16] Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.
[17] And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

Called Ammi, not Lo-ammi. God’s people have come back to him. Back to Isa.65 and verse 7 reads.

Isa.65:7] Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the LORD, which have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I measure their former work into their bosom.

Here we are given the reason. They have worshiped other gods. The example for these end times, they will worship the antichrist. Let’s go to Ezekiel where he gives us a warning. Eze.20 and verse 5 reads.

Eze.20:5] And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day when I chose Israel, and lifted up mine hand unto the seed of the house of Jacob, and made myself known unto them in the land of Egypt, when I lifted up mine hand unto them, saying, I am the LORD your God;
[6] In the day that I lifted up mine hand unto them, to bring them forth of the land of Egypt into a land that I had espied for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands:

The land promised to the house of Jacob is the example for us of the end times.

Eze.20:7] Then said I unto them, Cast ye away every man the abominations of his eyes, and defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
[8] But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me: they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt: then I said, I will pour out my fury upon them to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

The Cup of Wrath will be poured out at the seventh trump. After the antichrist has deceived the whole world. Back to Isa.65 and verse 8 reads.

Isa.65:8] Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants’ sakes, that I may not destroy them all.

This is speaking of the second advent, the seventh trump. Let’s go to Joel 2 and verse 14 reads.

Joel 2:14] Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God?
[15] Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:
[16] Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.

Again, it is written in Isa.1 and verse 9 reads.

Isa.1:9] Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.

The Elect is a very small remnant, it is said to be 7,000. Whether it be exactly 7,000 or whether it is just spiritually complete I don’t know. 7 means in numerical order “Spiritual completeness”. Back to Isa.65 and verse 9 reads.

Isa.65:9] And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there.
[10] And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for the herds to lie down in, for my people that have sought me.

We are going back and forth between his Elect and the rebellious house of Jacob. Here we have his Elect again. Sharon means; Plain, and is the plain between Jerusalem and the Mount of Olives. Here his children (his flocks) will be gathered. And the Mount of Olives is where Jesus ascended and will descend again at the seventh trump. Acts 1:9-11. Now this valley of Achor is said for the rebellious house that comes back to the LORD. Achor is H5911 and means; Trouble. the name of a place in Palestine (let that sink in). Achor – as the valley of trouble where Achan and his family were stoned. This is important as we are studying here in Isaiah 65, the reason for all their troubles. Achan took of the accursed thing, the Babylonian robe of a priest of a false god. along with a wedge of gold and two talents of silver which he buried under it. Josh.7:1-24. Now let’s think for a moment, even in the valley of trouble I, the LORD speaking, will be with you. And you shall lie down to rest, Jesus is our rest. Back to Isa.65 and verse 11 reads.

Isa.65:11] But ye are they that forsake the LORD, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number.

But for those who worship the antichrist and do not repent will he pour out that Cup of Wrath. Check out this word troop, it is H1408 and means; Gad, god of fortune, a Babylonian deity. Satan is called The King of Babylon in the end times. What will happen to them? Verse 12 reads.

Isa.65:12] Therefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not.

Let’s look at this word Number, H4484 from H4487. MENE. From mânâh. This is what the king Belshazzar the grandson of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon watched the hand of God write on his wall that made his loins loose. Let’s go to Daniel 5 and verse 25 reads.

Dan.5:25] And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.
[26] This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.
[27] TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.
[28] PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.

MENE; God has numbered thy kingdom and finished it. This is what is said to those at the end times in verse 12 above that do not repent but worship the antichrist. Back to Isa.65 and verse 13 reads.

Isa.65:13] Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed:

Here is that separation, the division, between his children and the serpent’s seed. We shall be fed that manna from heaven, his Word, and they will go athirst. Amos 8:11 coming to pass. And it reads.

Amos 8:11] Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:

Back to Isa.65 and verse 14 reads.

Isa.65:14] Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit.

Let’s go to Matthew 8, Jesus is speaking, and verse 12 reads.

Mat.8:12] But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Let’s now go to Luke 12 and verse 37 reads.

Luke 12:37] Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.
[38] And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.
[39] And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.
[40] Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.
[41] Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?
[42] And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?
[43] Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
[44] Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.
[45] But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
[46] The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

Jesus teaches us so well with his parables. First of all, He will give us meat meaning the Word, He will open our eyes to his Word. Second, this “at an hour when he is not aware”, think of that hour of tribulation. They think he is already here when the antichrist is here because they have been deceived. Back to Isa.65 and verse 15 reads.

Isa.65:15] And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord GOD shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name:

His chosen are his Elect. Don’t overlook that the LORD will slay them. What name will he call us? Let’s go to Acts 11 and verse 26 reads.

Acts 11:26] And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

Christian, Christ men. His people, Ammi. Back to Isa.65 and verse 16 reads.

Isa.65:16] That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes.

The beauty of Christianity. Repent and have your sins be forgiven, that they exist no more. Anew, as if they never existed. First let’s go to Psalms 72 and verse 17 reads.

Psa.72:17] His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.

Blessed is loved. Let’s go to 2Cor.10 and verse 16 reads.

2Cor.10:16] To preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another man’s line of things made ready to our hand.
[17] But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
[18] For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.

Remember Luke 18 from above, verse 14 reads.

Luke 18:14] I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

This is he that the LORD commendeths. Back to Isa.65 and verse 17 reads.

Isa.65:17] For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

From the very beginning I have been teaching about the three heavens and earth ages. Gen.1:1-2 or 3 Heaven and Earth Ages in Topical Teachings. The third heaven and earth shall come, but not until after the millennium. After the Great White Throne Judgement. When all that is wicked is burned to ashes and there is no more evil in the world, and there shall be no more tears. Let’s go to 2Pet.3 and verse 8 reads.

2Pet.3:8] But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Not only a blessing for understanding Genesis chapter 1, but also for understanding the Millennium.

2Pet.3:9] The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
[10] But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

This word Elements should have been translated Rudiments, meaning all evil.

2Pet.3:11] Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
[12] Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
[13] Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

When all evil is gone and never to be thought of again, then we have Eternity, the third and final earth and heaven age. (Ion, a length of time). Let’s go to Rev.21 and verse 1 reads.

Rev.21:1] And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
[2] And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
[3] And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

Ammi, his people.

Rev.21:4] And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
[5] And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

We can take comfort in his Word. Back to Isa.65 and verse 18 reads.

Isa.65:18] But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.

We that have the Word of God are blessed.

Isa.65:19] And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.

Promised here in Isaiah 65 just like in Rev.21:4. But let’s look at Rev.7 and verse 17 reads.

Rev.7:17] For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

During the famine of the end times, the Lamb himself will feed us truth, he will open the eyes of his Elect. Back to Isa.65 and verse 20 reads.

Isa.65:20] There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.

In our spiritual bodies we have no age, created in his image, created in the spirit a very long time ago. This is simply alluding to the sinner being accursed if he doesn’t repent. Let’s go to Ecclesiastes 8 and verse 11 reads.

Ecc.8:11] Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
[12] Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him:
[13] But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God.

Back to Isa.65 and verse 21 reads.

Isa.65:21] And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.

Let’s go to Isa.3 and verse 10 reads.

Isa.3:10] Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
[11] Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.

We are judged on our works while in the flesh. Back to Isa.65 and verse 22 reads.

Isa.65:22] They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.

But for the Elect, life everlasting, compared to a tree. Let’s go to Psalms 92 and verse 12 reads.

Psa.92:12] The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
[13] Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.
[14] They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;

Back to Isa.65 and verse 23 reads.

Isa.65:23] They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.

Ammi, God’s children. Let’s go to Acts 2 and verse 38 reads.

Acts 2:38] Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
[39] For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Back to Isa.65 and verse 24 reads.

Isa.65:24] And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

Because the LORD dwells in us, he hears us before we even speak. Let’s go to Daniel 9 and verse 19 gives us an example.

Dan.9:19] O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.
[20] And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God;
[21] Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation.
[22] And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding.

Another example of the promise to his Elect of the Manna from Heaven to us in the end times. Rev.2 and verse 17 reads.

Rev.2:17] He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

The LORD will open the eyes of his Elect in due season. Back to Isa.65 and verse 25 reads.

Isa.65:25] The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent’s meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.

He is describing the seventh trump for us here. There will be no more wicked to hurt his children, the wolf and the lamb lay together because in spirit there are no carnivores. Let’s go to Micah 7 and verse 16 reads.

Mic.7:16] The nations shall see and be confounded at all their might: they shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be deaf.
[17] They shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth: they shall be afraid of the LORD our God, and shall fear because of thee.

Chapter 65 is a great chapter for wisdom in these end times. One more to go to finish the great book of Isaiah, let’s go to his throne.

Father, we thank you for your word and ask that you bless all that love you in Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
