Isaiah 61 can be titled Good Tidings of Salvation to Zion. Isaiah 61 and verse 1 reads.

Isa.61:1] The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

Jesus Christ speaking here in the Old Testament. Let’s first find the promise from long ago. Psalms 147 and verse 3 reads.

Psa.147:3] He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

Now let’s go to Matthew 11, John the Baptist is in prison and he sends two of his disciples to Jesus to find out which advent is this. Is this the advent for Salvation or for the wrath of God? Mat.11 and verse 2 reads.

Mat.11:2] Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,
[3] And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?

Are you here for Salvation or wrath? You see John and Jesus are cousins. John being a prophet knows that there will be two.

Mat.11:4] Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:

Jesus is saying don’t take my word for it, but tell him what your ears hear and what your eyes see.

Mat.11:5] The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.
[6] And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.
[7] And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
[8] But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings’ houses.

John the Baptist wore camel’s hair (Mark 1:6) and ate locust and honey, a sign of a prophet. Soft clothing are for the rich.

Mat.11:9] But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet.
[10] For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

You find this in Isa.40:3, but also in the prophet Malachi 3:1.

Mat.11:11] Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

Because they are in spirit, and at this time John the Baptist is in flesh.

Mat.11:12] And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
[13] For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.
[14] And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.
[15] He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

This Elias is Greek for Elijah. John the Baptist came in the spirit of Elijah, not that he was Elijah. The spirit of Elijah is that he turns the hearts of the children back to their fathers, plural. To both God and the Serpent. We have the seed of the Father and we have the seed of the serpent. Verse 15 tells us this is written for God’s Elect, who have eyes to see and ears to hear. Back to Isa.61 and verse 2 reads.

Isa.61:2] To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

We see here, for this reason John the Baptist sent his disciples to Jesus. Jesus taught this in the synagogue, let’s go to Luke 4 and verse 17 reads.

Luke 4:17] And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
[18] The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
[19] To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Jesus stopped here at the acceptable year of the Lord with a period, but we know that there is a comma in Isaiah 61:2. This was why John the Baptist asked which would this be. The day of vengeance of our God to comfort all that mourn; will be the second advent, the seventh trump. Christ will come with vengeance and a rod of iron.

Luke 4:20] And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
[21] And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

The day of Salvation had come, the prophecy of Isa.7:14 had come to pass. Back to Isa.61 and verse 3 reads.

Isa.61:3] To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

Here we have a promise to God’s Elect, the oil of joy for mourning is the garment of praise for the spirit. Think of the 10 virgins, 5 had oil in their lamps and 5 had no oil. The oil is God’s Word, it is Truth. The 5 with no oil didn’t make it into heaven, the doors were shut, they would be left out for the millennium to see if they had salvation. But we have the Word of God, we study and we read his word that we may be used by him and for him in these end times. Let’s go to John 15 and verse 7 reads.

John 15:7] If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
[8] Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
[9] As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
[10] If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.
[11] These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

The LORD dwells in us. Back to Isa.61 and verse 4 reads.

Isa.61:4] And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.

Before Christ returns, Satan comes at the 6th trump claiming to be Jesus but deceives the whole world. Because they have no oil in their lamps, they have not the truth of God’s Word.

Isa.61:5] And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.

The gentiles shall feed the flocks, they will teach falsely from the pulpits. The plowmen shall have bad fruits, so evil that they cannot be eaten. The vinedressers for the blood of Christ will be corrupted by false teachers and antichrist. The one world order will work together to deceive the world.

Isa.61:6] But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.

Those of us who overcome the antichrist called God’s Elect shall be called Priest of the LORD. Let’s go to Rev.20 and verse 4 reads.

Rev.20:4] And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

The 5 virgins that had the oil in their lamps, called the Elect.

Rev.20:5] But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

Those 5 virgins who took no oil, who had no truth because they wouldn’t read the Word of God, and were deceived by the antichrist.

Rev.20:6] Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

There will be so much work to do in the millennium for God’s Elect. Back to Isa.61 and verse 7 reads.

Isa.61:7] For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.

Our shame is that they will persecute us and for that reason we will receive a double portion, first fruits.

Isa.61:8] For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

Listen up God’s Elect, God just promised us that He would direct our works and that this is his everlasting covenant with us. Also notice that God loves his judgments against the wicked, those that teach falsely and say that God sent them, but do lie. Let’s go to Psalms 11 and verse 5 reads.

Psa.11:5] The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

Think God doesn’t hate?

Psa.11:6] Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.

This is the cup that Jesus would pray that the Father takes away, he doesn’t.

Psa.11:7] For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.

And to the churches that teach falsely that there will be a rapture, listen up. Ezekiel 13 and verse 19 reads.

Eze.13:19] And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies?
[20] Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly.
[21] Your kerchiefs also will I tear, and deliver my people out of your hand, and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

They shall surely know that he is the LORD. But for us, his Elect, we have that promise in verse 8 that he would direct our works for his will. He continues, Isa.61 and verse 9 reads.

Isa.61:9] And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.

There is the woman’s seed, and there is the Serpent’s seed. The Serpent’s seed are the Kenites (the offspring of Cain). Let’s go to Genesis 3 and verse 15 reads.

Gen.3:15] And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

This is the first prophecy in the Bible. They would bruise his heels when they nailed them to the cross, but the Elect shall bruise his head. Called “Chittum” bruisers. Jesus also taught this in Mat.13, the parable of the tares. You can find that Serpent is one of Satan’s names in Rev.12:9. Don’t overlook that we, God’s Elect, will be known by all the world as the seed that the LORD has blessed. Go down to the Rio Grande, and look at both sides of the river. One side is cursed and the other (America) is blessed. Back to Isa.61 and verse 10 reads.

Isa.61:10] I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

These are the white robes that we earn by being God’s Elect, by our works we are saved. We are all waiting for the marriage to the Lamb. but, first let’s go to Rev.21 and verse 2 reads.

Rev.21:2] And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Now, let’s go to Rev.19 and verse 7 reads.

Rev.19:7] Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
[8] And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
[9] And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

This day will come, and I say, “Come Lord Jesus, come.” Back to Isa.61 and verse 11 reads.

Isa.61:11] For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

It is the LORD that does this for all to see. And they will know that he is the LORD. Let’s finish this in Psa.85 and verse 9 reads.

Psa.85:9] Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.
[10] Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
[11] Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.

Please take away from this lesson that there are two seeds, that of God and that of Satan the Serpent. Great study again in Isaiah, let’s go to his throne.

Father, we thank you for your word and ask that you bless all that love you in Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
