In today’s study we will find verses 1-12; The LORD will deliver Zion from captivity. And verses 13-15; The sufferings of the LORD’s servant. Isaiah 52 and verse 1 reads.

Isa.52:1] Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.

Our strength here is said to be our garments. Let’s think about this, our wedding garments or our gospel armor are both the Word of God. Jesus is the Living Word. Jerusalem, there will be no more unclean thing to come unto you anymore. Only after Christ returns could this be. We have a time referenced here, it is after the seventh trump.

Isa.52:2] Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.

Clean yourself off through repentance, then put on the wedding garment for your bridegroom is near. Let’s go back to Isa.10 and verse 27 reads.

Isa.10:27] And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

Christ means; Anointed. G5547 Christos in the Greek. Back to Isa.52 and verse 3 reads.

Isa.52:3] For thus saith the LORD, Ye have sold yourselves for nought; and ye shall be redeemed without money.

You fell into captivity by not obeying my commandments. He certainly redeemed us without money for it was his blood on the cross that redeems us. We read in Isaiah 50 verse 1; Behold, for your iniquities have ye sold yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away.

Isa.52:4] For thus saith the Lord GOD, My people went down aforetime into Egypt to sojourn there; and the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.

Joseph and his brothers went into Egypt with 70, and came out of captivity with many. Approximately 2.5 million after 400 years in captivity.

Isa.52:5] Now therefore, what have I here, saith the LORD, that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the LORD; and my name continually every day is blasphemed.

They go into captivity when they don’t need to, they have the Word of God. Let’s go to Romans 2 and verse 23 reads.

Rom.2:23] Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God?
[24] For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.

Written in Isaiah 52:5, we just read, back to Isa.52 and verse 6 reads.

Isa.52:6] Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I.

The first word Know should have been translated Respect. They should respect his name. The Father speaks to us through his Word, have you read? When the Elect are delivered up, all will know it is God that speaks.

Isa.52:7] How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

Mountains are nations. We are talking about those who bring the word of God to his children. The LORD has sent us pastors, let’s look at the armor of God. Eph.6 and verse 15 reads.

Eph.6:15] And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Paul taught us in Romans 10 and verse 15 reads.

Rom.10:15] And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Quoting Isa.52:7.

Rom.10:16] But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

This would be quoting Isa.53:1, we’ll get there soon.

Rom.10:17] So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

The LORD has sent many good pastors to us, especially in these end times. But remember, Satan loves using the pulpit for his deception also. We see this by pastors preaching the rapture doctrine unawares that they are leading their congregation straight into Satan’s lap. Back to Isa.52 and verse 8 reads.

Isa.52:8] Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.

God’s Elect are the watchmen and shall see the LORD face to face. Jesus would tell us in Mark 13, watchmen watch. The day of the LORD is coming quickly, and we need to be prepared with the truth, that is God’s Word. Let’s go to Isa.62 and verse 5 reads.

Isa.62:5] For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.
[6] I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence,
[7] And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

Back to Isa.52 and verse 9 reads.

Isa.52:9] Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.

Let’s go to Psalms 98 and verse 4 reads.

Psa.98:4] Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.

The day will come when all of God’s word will come to pass exactly as it is written. Back to Isa.52 and verse 10 reads.

Isa.52:10] The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

We were just in Psalms 98, let’s go back and pick it up with verse 1 and it reads.

Psa.98:1] O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.
[2] The LORD hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen.
[3] He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

The LORD will have victory in the end, the promise of Salvation for the world they will see. It will be a marvelous thing to see. Hallelujah, praise the LORD. Let’s go to Luke 3 and verse 4 reads.

Luke 3:4] As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
[5] Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;
[6] And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

We can’t understand the New Testament without the Old. Back to Isa.52 and verse 11 reads.

Isa.52:11] Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD.

Come out of confusion, Zerubbabel. Let’s go to 2Cor.6 and verse 17 reads.

2Cor.6:17] Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
[18] And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Back to Isa.52 and verse 12 reads.

Isa.52:12] For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rereward.

We will not go out of captivity with haste as the Egyptians tried to send them out of Egypt. Exo.12:11. But to see that the LORD not only leads his children but has their backs, let’s go to Exo.14 and verse 19 reads.

Exo.14:19] And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:

Also, in verse 12 above he said nor go out by flight. Let’s go to Ezekiel 13 and verse 20 reads.

Eze.13:20] Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly.

The rapture doctrine is a lie, and should be taught that it is evil. We will not fly away with the antichrist, but we will wait for the true Christ. Back to Isa.52 where we begin The sufferings of the LORD’s servant, and verse 13 reads.

Isa.52:13] Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.

This is Jesus Christ. He will be prosperous. Let’s go to Luke 4, after Satan tempted him in the wilderness, and verse 14 reads.

Luke 4:14] And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
[15] And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.

Back to Isa.52 and verse 14 reads.

Isa.52:14] As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:

He was crucified on the cross, his arms pulled from their sockets. The blood from the crown of thorns on his head as well as the stripes on his back. This they did to the Savior of the world.

Isa.52:15] So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.

Sprinkle means to startle. All knees will bow and we shall stand face to face with the LORD. Let’s go to Romans 15 and verse 21 reads.

Rom.15:21] But as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand.

We see here that all will know and understand the truth. It will be a glorious day, come LORD Jesus, come. Let’s go to his throne.

Father, we thank you for your word and ask that you bless all that love you in Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
