Today’s chapter is divided as such; verses 1-8 Ariel and her enemies. 9-16 the blindness of Israel. 17-24 the redemption of Israel. A really good chapter today, Isaiah 29 and verse 1 reads.
Isa.29:1] Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David dwelt! add ye year to year; let them kill sacrifices.
Woe, means a passionate cry of grief or despair. Ariel is H740 ʼĂrîyʼêl pronounce ar-ee-ale’. And means; the lion of God. A name for Jerusalem. Only found in 4 verses of the bible. 3 of the 4 are in this very chapter, the other in Ezra pertaining to an exiled Israelite. Here we can be assured it pertains to Jerusalem.
Isa.29:2] Yet I will distress Ariel, and there shall be heaviness and sorrow: and it shall be unto me as Ariel.
Yet Jerusalem will be distressed. Why? Because the antichrist is there, it is the sixth trump, and the whole world whores after him.
Isa.29:3] And I will camp against thee round about, and will lay siege against thee with a mount, and I will raise forts against thee.
[4] And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust, and thy voice shall be, as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust.
The nation Israel puts up a good fight, all the way until Satan is cast out of heaven with his angels. Speaking now of the fig tree generation, some are good fruit, others are so evil they cannot be eaten. Hence the evil spirits from out of the ground. Who’s speech whispers from the dust? Remember Gods judgment to the serpent in Gen.3, let’s go back and read the whole judgment. Because with it we get the first prophecy in God’s word Gen.3 and verse 14 reads.
Gen.3:14] And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
We just saw this sentence being carried out for the serpent and his seed in verse 4. But, the first prophecy continues.
Gen.3:15] And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Between the serpent’s seed and the woman’s seed. He, the serpent’s seed, would bruise his heels, they did this when they nailed Christ to the cross. But we, Chittum (the bruisers) will bruise his head. Isaiah is talking about the serpent’s seed, the Kenites. back to Isa.29 and verse 5 reads.
Isa.29:5] Moreover the multitude of thy strangers shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones shall be as chaff that passeth away: yea, it shall be at an instant suddenly.
The multitude of strangers that live among you, these are non-Israelites. This word “terrible ones” I had to go to the manuscripts to find it is H6184 meaning; 1. awe-inspiring, terror-striking, awesome, terrifying, ruthless, mighty. Combining it with strangers, we are talking about the Palestinians within their borders.
Isa.29:6] Thou shalt be visited of the LORD of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire.
Let’s first go to Ezekiel 13, we were here in the last chapter pertaining to those who lie and cover God’s truth to deceive the LORD’s children. And verse 11 reads.
Eze.13:11] Say unto them which daub it with untempered morter, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower; and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall rend it.
They from the pulpits and all those who oppose the LORD will burn as chaff. Let me remind you once more of Heb.12 and verse 29 reads.
Heb.12:29] For our God is a consuming fire.
Back to Isaiah 29 and verse 7 reads.
Isa.29:7] And the multitude of all the nations that fight against Ariel, even all that fight against her and her munition, and that distress her, shall be as a dream of a night vision.
The children of God who did not fly away, but stood against Satan and all who worship only the LORD will win in the end. Let’s go for a little comfort to Micah 4 and pick it up with verse 8 and it reads.
Mic.4:8] And thou, O tower of the flock, the strong hold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee shall it come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem.
[9] Now why dost thou cry out aloud? is there no king in thee? is thy counseller perished? for pangs have taken thee as a woman in travail.
[10] Be in pain, and labour to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go even to Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the LORD shall redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies.
As the world goes into captivity to the king of Babylon, confusion, the LORD is with us. The elect will be delivered up and the Holy Spirit will speak through us.
Mic.4:11] Now also many nations are gathered against thee, that say, Let her be defiled, and let our eye look upon Zion.
[12] But they know not the thoughts of the LORD, neither understand they his counsel: for he shall gather them as the sheaves into the floor.
[13] Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion: for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will consecrate their gain unto the LORD, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth.
Bruisers get ready to thresh. Back to Isa.29 and verse 8 reads.
Isa.29:8] It shall even be as when an hungry man dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and, behold, he is faint, and his soul hath appetite: so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount Zion.
We know that the famine in the end times is for hearing the word of the LORD. Amos 8:11. But this verse brought into subject their souls, let’s go to Psalms 73 and pick it up with verse 17 and it reads.
Psa.73:17] Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.
[18] Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.
[19] How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.
[20] As a dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image.
[21] Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.
[22] So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee.
Until the word of the LORD was found in me.
Psa.73:23] Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.
[24] Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
[25] Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.
Stay in the word of God, it will help you in these end times understand what is happening around the world. Now, for the blindness of Israel, Isa.29 and verse 9 reads.
Isa.29:9] Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.
Stay is Wait. Wait for the true Christ, wait for the seventh trump and don’t worship the first Christ for he is the antichrist. They are in a stupor, they are deceived. Rev.17:1-9.
Isa.29:10] For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.
Speaking of blinding most, but opening the eyes of his elect. This is today my friends. Let’s go to Romans 11 and verse 7 reads.
Rom.11:7] What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded
Speaking of the famine and blinding his own children, we can go to Psalms 69 and verse 22 reads.
Psa.69:22] Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap.
[23] Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake.
[24] Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them.
Back to Isaiah 29 and verse 11 reads.
Isa.29:11] And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:
Going back to how God will open the eyes of his elect and blind those who allow themselves to be deceived. We need to know, as God’s elect, that this was written long ago. Let’s go to Daniel 12 and verse 7 reads.
Dan.12:7] And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
Three and a half times should tell you it brings it to the time of Satan. The seven years of tribulation is divided into two 3 ½ periods. The first is at the end of fifth trump, this would be the time given to the one world order or the first beast. The second is the sixth trump when Satan comes claiming to be Christ and is not, but the antichrist.
Dan.12:8] And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?
[9] And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
I want you to notice it is sealed only to the end times, meaning it will be opened to God’s elect in these end times.
Dan.12:10] Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
We can see how God’s children are able to know what is wicked, but the wicked no not what they do. Take time to read my study in Rev.6, you can find it in the Daily Studies of thechristministries.org. Before we continue with Isaiah let’s understand this very clearly. Jesus taught us this when teaching the seven churches in Revelation. In Rev.2 and verse 17 reads.
Rev.2:17] He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
The hidden manna is the word of God that has been opened to his elect. But this stone is talking about a length of time, that seven years divided into two 3 ½ year periods. This seven year period of tribulation has been shortened to a five month period. Rev.9:5,10. Now let’s go to the church of Philadelphia, Rev.3 and verse 7 reads.
Rev.3:7] And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
[8] I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
These are the times when the LORD is opening and closing eyes to all his children on earth. Those who love him and study his word will have their eyes opened. Those who hate him and worship the antichrist will have their eyes shut. Back to Isa.29 and verse 12 reads.
Isa.29:12] And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.
All we need to do is study his word today and he will open our eyes. God has promised to send teachers in these end times. let’s go to 1Cor.12 and verse 28 reads.
1Cor.12:28] And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
Notice he said “Some”, now let’s go to 2Pet.2 and verse 1 reads.
2Pet.2:1] But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
There will be some good teachers and some false teachers in our churches today. This has been said for many years, long enough for us to study and check our teachers out. Whether they teach the word of God or traditions of men. Here is a simple way to test your teachers. Will they answer any questions or show you where in God’s word it says what they have just taught? Back to Isa.29 and verse 13 reads.
Isa.29:13] Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
This verse was quoted by Jesus, let’s go to Mat.15 and verse 6 reads.
Mat.15:6] And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
[7] Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
[8] This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
[9] But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
All that are given authority should be teaching the commandments of God, not men. Traditions of man make void the word of God. This is also written in Titus 1 and verse 14 reads.
Titus 1:14] Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.
Back to Isaiah 29 and verse 14 reads.
Isa.29:14] Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.
Let’s go to 1Cor.1 and verse 18 reads.
1Cor.1:18] For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
[19] For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
How can anyone who teaches the word of God ever say “You don’t have to read the Old Testament, that’s not for Christians”. They are ignorant or worse, hiding the truth from you on purpose. From such, run. Back to Isa.29 and verse 15 reads.
Isa.29:15] Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?
Still speaking of the false teachers in the house of the LORD. Woe, a sad song or lamentation.
Isa.29:16] Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter’s clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?
The world has certainly been turned upside down. What is right is said to be wrong, and what is wrong is said to be right. Let’s go to Romans 9 and verse 18 reads.
Rom.9:18] Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.
[19] Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?
[20] Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?
[21] Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
Out of the same lump of clay, the LORD can make a fine vessel to carry water or he can make a chamber pot. Back to Isa.29, from this verse on we have the Redemption of Israel. Isa.29 and verse 17 reads.
Isa.29:17] Is it not yet a very little while, and Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest?
Lebanon means white, said here for his people and not the location.
Isa.29:18] And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.
There will come a day when the LORD shall open the eyes and ears of his elect. The fifth trump and the fifth seal is a time for learning.
Isa.29:19] The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
I want to go to Matthew 5 (the Beatitudes) and pick it up with verse 3 and it reads.
Mat.5:3] Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
[4] Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
[5] Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
[6] Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
[7] Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
[8] Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
[9] Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
[10] Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
[11] Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
[12] Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
Enough said, thank you Lord Jesus, Isaiah was one of the prophets persecuted before us. Back to Isa.29 and verse 20 reads.
Isa.29:20] For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off:
The sixth trump shall come to an end quickly and the true Christ shall come. And all rudiments, evil, shall go up in smoke. Watchmen stay awake.
Isa.29:21] That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nought.
They will lay a snare to us who teach truth, and not listen to a righteous man, but one who deceives.
Isa.29:22] Therefore thus saith the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob, Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale.
[23] But when he seeth his children, the work of mine hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name, and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel.
The promise to Abraham that his seed will inherit the land shall come to pass. And for this reason, all will know he is the LORD.
Isa.29:24] They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine.
The Word of God shall never pass, but be shown to be the only truth on earth. Let’s go to his throne.
