Current Event Sept.’25. Today our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we have lost another brother in Christ. Though we know he is with the LORD and has heard “Job well done my good and faithful servant”. We pray for his beautiful wife and children. Charlie Kirk was not a politician, but a civil rights leader. A man of God and a man who loved his country. A man who fought for free speech, and encouraged others to sit with him and talk. He would give a microphone and the opportunity for anyone to ask questions or just give their opinion on any topic. He would go to the young and the old, this man was like no other man on any campus. And for disagreement he was killed. Today we need to understand that evil walks among us, and though there are many prophecies for these end times we find God has warned us from the beginning that evil would be among us. Let’s begin in the garden. Gen.2 and verse 8 reads.
Gen.2:8] And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
[9] And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
Two trees are in the midst of the garden, meaning with Adam and Eve. These two trees are Jesus Christ, the tree of Life, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil which is Satan. Let’s look at this “Knowledge of good and evil”. This is Satan, and though he knows how to do good he does evil. And all that hate God, will hate those who choose to do good. The LORD has put them here in the world for his children to make this choice. Read my study “Three Heavens and Earth Ages” to understand the reason all had to come in the flesh. But that we know that God has done this for his will to be done. The evil that walks among us are called evildoers, let’s go now to Psalms 37. Psalms 37 is an acrostic Psalm, verses 7,20 and 34 have great meaning which we’ll get to in a minute. Psa.37 and verse 1 reads.
Psa.37:1] Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
Evildoers is H7489 râʻaʻ pronounced raw-ah’ and means; to be wicked (and, or) do wickedly. Do not envy them that do wicked.
Psa.37:2] For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
[3] Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
While the world is in a famine, the Lord will feed his sheep through his elect.
Psa.37:4] Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
[5] Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
Be Christ-like and your desires which are for the LORD shall come to pass. We do the works of God, and should have the desire for the platform to share with others. Charlie did this very well.
Psa.37:6] And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
This light is the Light of Christ that shines out of us, that the darkness comprehends not.
Psa.37:7] Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
Here is our first of three verses that in the manuscripts have only three lines as compared to the others having four. This sets them apart for a message to God’s elect. This first one asks; Why do the evil seem to always get ahead?
Psa.37:8] Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
[9] For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.
Do not commit evil as retaliation for evil done against us, this belongs to the LORD.
Psa.37:10] For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.
[11] But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
We will have peace, an everlasting peace. Jesus would add this to the Beatitudes.
Psa.37:12] The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.
They plot evil against God’s elect, and gnash their teeth. They celebrate evil as good.
Psa.37:13] The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.
The LORD laughs because he knows that wicked person will have to stand before him.
Psa.37:14] The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.
This is why Charlie was killed, his conversation was upright, he was righteous.
Psa.37:15] Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
We see here how it is that they that live by the sword shall die by the sword.
Psa.37:16] A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
[17] For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.
[18] The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.
[19] They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
Let’s go to Amos 8 and verse 11 reads.
Amos 8:11] Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
The evil time is now, the days of famine are here. Back to Psa.37 and this next verse is also an acrostic, let’s read it very carefully, and verse 20 reads.
Psa.37:20] But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.
The first asked; Why do the wicked always seem to get ahead? Now this one says; As the fat of the lambs that drip off the spit and fall into the fire, up in smoke forever and ever. Meaning they won’t exist anymore.
Psa.37:21] The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.
[22] For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.
There is no reward for the wicked. All branches that don’t produce fruit will be cut off and burned in the fire.
Psa.37:23] The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
The LORD will lead us and guide us on our paths.
Psa.37:24] Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.
[25] I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
[26] He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.
[27] Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
[28] For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
We have two seeds, the children of God and the Serpent’s seed. For a better understanding read Mat.13 the parable of the tares.
Psa.37:29] The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.
[30] The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.
This is doing the will of the LORD, speaking to others and showing them the word of God as Charlie did. Talking of the judgements of the LORD, his reward of life everlasting.
Psa.37:31] The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.
Don’t overlook the Law is in his heart, the commandments of the LORD can only be known to one that reads his Word.
Psa.37:32] The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.
[33] The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.
This is why that wicked person killed Charlie, he is a Kenite, offspring of Cain, of the Serpent’s seed. But the LORD has the righteous with him in heaven. Now, we come to the third and final acrostic of this Psalm.
Psa.37:34] Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.
Why do the wicked always seem to get ahead? They don’t, they are like the fat of the lamb when it falls into the fire, poof up in smoke forever and ever. And here we see, we get to watch! All that have done wickedly to God’s children on earth will be consumed by fire. (Heb.12:29 For our God is a consuming fire.)
Psa.37:35] I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.
[36] Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.
[37] Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.
[38] But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.
[39] But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.
Don’t overlook Jesus Christ here in the Old Testament. He is our Salvation, our Savior.
Psa.37:40] And the LORD shall help them and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.
Let’s now go to Ephesians 6 and read about that gospel armor that Charlie was wearing. Eph.6 and verse 10 reads.
Eph.6:10] Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
[11] Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
We will stand and not fly away. We will stand as Charlie did and converse with able debate.
Eph.6:12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Do not overlook it is against principalities and the wicked of this world.
Eph.6:13] Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
[14] Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Remember the evildoers will kill because of righteousness.
Eph.6:15] And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Our feet for taking the Word of God to others. We must do this with peace.
Eph.6:16] Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Notice how the wicked could never win an argument with Charlie when God’s truth was being spoken.
Eph.6:17] And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
The sword of the LORD is the Word of God. Spirit is uppercase for the Holy Spirit.
Eph.6:18] Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Pray for one another who go out into the world to teach the word of God,
Eph.6:19] And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
[20] For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
Pray for ourselves when we do his works, that we speak boldly the truth of God’s Word. The wicked will speak evil of you when you do the works of God. It’s almost impossible to understand how they don’t see their own hypocrisy. But when you are the light in the room, remember the darkness comprehends it not. Let’s go to Revelation and see where our friend is today. In Rev.6 we have the Seven Seals, Satan comes at the sixth seal so this is right before. Rev.6 and verse 9 reads.
Rev.6:9] And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
This word testimony is G3141 from G3144, which is Martus in Greek and is where we get our word Martyr from, and it means; 1. those who after his example have proved the strength and genuineness of their faith in Christ by undergoing a violent death. We see here that those who become Martyrs are under the very altar of God, they are with God.
Rev.6:10] And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
[11] And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
This is not over yet, others will also die for witnessing for the LORD. But that we fear not, for the LORD will never leave us or forsake us. Charlie Kirk died because his works were righteous and his job was done. We must now pick up the torch and be that light that brings our brothers and sisters out of the darkness that is in this world. I expect a million people will pick up that torch that he had and be the light in the world, it is our turn. Charlie showed us how, now let’s roll. Thank you, Charlie, for being an inspiration to so many people in such a short time. Let’s go to his throne.
Father, we thank you for giving us a vivacious and intelligent person in Charlie Kirk. We ask that you touch his wife and children and comfort them. We ask that you bless all who love you in Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
