John 10 and verse 1 reads.
John 10:1] Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
[2] But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
Jesus is teaching us that not all who stand before you behind a pulpit are his shepherds. There are false teachers in this world that would only deceive you for evil. Jesus knows them and more importantly he knows you by name. Let’s hear him.
John 10:3] To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
[4] And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
When you study his word, you are given an unction. Knowing that feeling of truth. This is our eyes open that no man can shut.
John 10:5] And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
[6] This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.
They apparently did not have eyes to see. But notice that we know who is who. This is that gift from God to know the difference between antichrist and the true Christ.
John 10:7] Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
[8] All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
[9] I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
This pasture is the Word of God. We can find the truth simply by reading his word. We can freely go in and out to teach his word and are not in bondage.
John 10:10] The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Destroyer is Satan’s name. Apollyon in the Greek. And Abaddon in the Hebrew.
John 10:11] I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
They crucified our Lord. For my sins and for yours so that He would destroy Death, that is Satan. Heb.2:14.
John 10:12] But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
[13] The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
These false prophets (Hirelings) do it for money, and are not sent by God. Be careful to not study or listen to these people. They will lead you away from God and his word. But how do we know? Do they teach the word of God or do they teach you to fly away. A very simple way to test your teachers is, can they back up what they say with the word of God or not.
John 10:14] I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
[15] As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
It was a commandment he received from God.
John 10:16] And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
These are the gentiles that after his death receive the same promises that we have. Christ died for all, but came to Israel first.
John 10:17] Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
[18] No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
Always remember Jesus is Emmanuel, God with us. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are one.
John 10:19] There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings.
This division was told to us from Jesus, that he came not for peace, but for division. This is where you can tell who are the Kenites and who is of Israel.
John 10:20] And many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him?
[21] Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?
Jesus just opened they eyes of the blind man in the last chapter, this really hurt those that cast him out of the synagogue.
John 10:22] And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.
This would be the Feast of Lights. This happened sometime around mid- December.
John 10:23] And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon’s porch.
This would be past the porch to get to the temple. Only Israelites could go pass the porch. No Gentiles.
John 10:24] Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.
How come they didn’t ask him in front of the gentiles? We know why. They didn’t want to look foolish.
John 10:25] Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me.
[26] But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
[27] My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
[28] And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
Good thing they asked him privately and not in front of the gentiles. That he came for all, and not only the Israelites. Jesus died for Salvation in the flesh, that upon repentance all can be forgiven. But didn’t they “Hear” what Jesus just taught about the sheep. Of course not, they are not of his flock. This is how we discern from his sheep and those that are not.
John 10:29] My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
[30] I and my Father are one.
John brings us the best gospel to understand who Jesus really is, he is the Father in the flesh. John 1:1 and 14. And it reads.
John 1:1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:14] And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
And what the pharisees should have known. Deuteronomy 18:15 reads.
Deu.18:15] The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;
This has been prophesied from Moses from the beginning. They claim to sit in the seat of Moses. But, did not believe. Back to John and verse 31 reads.
John 10:31] Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
[32] Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
[33] The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
Seeing the miracles did not help them believe, why? Because they are Kenites, not of his sheep.
John 10:34] Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
Jesus is quoting from Psalms 82 and verse 6 reads.
Psa.82:6] I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
We call him Father, so we are his children. All are his children and these Kenites want to kill him for this. Have they ever read Gods word.
John 10:35] If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
[36] Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?
Sent into the world, John 1:14. Don’t lose your place with what he is saying.
John 10:37] If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
[38] But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.
Who can do miracles among you. For these believe me, but they can’t, for they are not of his sheep.
John 10:39] Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,
[40] And went away again beyond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there he abode.
[41] And many resorted unto him, and said, John did no miracle: but all things that John spake of this man were true.
[42] And many believed on him there.
These people were of his sheep, they believed because what John the Baptist prophesied of him, he did. But, of the others, those pharisees, how could they understand. They did not have eyes to see, and were Kenites. This is very important to understand. His sheep hear him and those not of his flock do not hear him, they are Kenites. Let’s go to his throne.
Father, we thank you for your word and ask that you bless all that love you in Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
