No one should come between you and God

In John 9 today we will find the difference between spiritual eyes and fleshly eyes. So, let’s get started and verse 1 reads.

John 9:1] And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.
[2] And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
[3] Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

Predestined, like his elect today. This man was blind for a reason, so that the works of God might be seen through him at this time. I think this man volunteered for this before he was born.

John 9:4] I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
[5] As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

This is from the beginning, when God said let there be light. Let’s go to Genesis Ch.1:3-5 and read.

Gen.1:3] And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
[4] And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
[5] And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

Jesus Christ is Light, Day. And Satan is darkness, that He called Night. If we are in Jesus we have that Light of Christ in us. But, without Jesus, then Darkness is in us. Also, in Micah we find more about this.

Mic.7:8] Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.

We need to think spiritually here because this whole chapter will be about our spiritual eyes being opened. Back to John and verse 6 reads.

John 9:6] When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,

“Touch not mine anointed”, talking about his Elect. Only God can open eyes and close eyes.

John 9:7] And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.

Siloam means sent apostle means Sent also. This man will do great things for the Lord, now that his eyes are opened. Jesus has opened his eyes to his Word.

John 9:8] The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?
[9] Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he.
[10] Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened?
[11] He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight.

A miracle, Jesus would do many miracles and some would believe on Him and some would not.

John 9:12] Then said they unto him, Where is he? He said, I know not.
[13] They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind.

A miracle was given to a man, will they praise the Lord?

John 9:14] And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.

Oh no, here we go again.

John 9:15] Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see.
[16] Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.

Remember Jesus came not for peace, but for division. Nowhere in Gods’ word does it say you can’t heal on the sabbath.

John 9:17] They say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of him, that he hath opened thine eyes? He said, He is a prophet.
[18] But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight.
[19] And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? how then doth he now see?

Now, his parents will be afraid because they knew that anyone that says Jesus is the Christ will be excommunicated out of the synagogue, but this is how one can outsmart the Serpent.

John 9:20] His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind:
[21] But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself.
[22] These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.
[23] Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.
[24] Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.

Now, this man who now can see spiritually will have a good lesson for them.

John 9:25] He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.

“I was blind but now I see.”  How I love that song.

John 9:26] Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes?
[27] He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples?

That hurt, this will really make them mad. And I mean absolutely crazy.

John 9:28] Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses’ disciples.
[29] We know that God spake unto Moses: as for this fellow, we know not from whence he is.

In Deuteronomy 18:15 Moses spoke of the coming of Christ, how is it they didn’t know this? Listen closely to how he answers them.

John 9:30] The man answered and said unto them, Why herein is a marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes.
[31] Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
[32] Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind.
[33] If this man were not of God, he could do nothing.
[34] They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.

Excommunicated, best thing that ever happened to him. If your church doesn’t teach the word of God, then get out of that church.

John 9:35] Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?

First Jesus look for him, and found him. When we search for him (read his word) he will open our eyes to his truth. Knock and he will answer. Remember John 3:16. And also the “will of God, John 6:40. This man quoted them to the pharisees.

John 9:36] He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?

This man was blind when Jesus first saw him, that’s why he didn’t recognize him.

John 9:37] And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.

Key word here was “both”. He now saw Jesus and also saw spiritually, knew his word, and believed.

John 9:38] And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.
[39] And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.

Talking about eyes to see and ears to hear. Made blind? Yes, God can remove spiritual eyes also. Reading and studying his word will show him that you believe, and with that comes great rewards.

John 9:40] And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?

Of course they are blind spiritually, they have the very Christ with them and can’t see it. How sad for them that don’t believe. But these were Kenites, remember Ch.8.

John 9:41] Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.

Being false teachers, and not believing on the Son of God, they taught in the synagogue, and didn’t know scriptures, and calling themselves good, but threw out a man that was healed from a blindness that they themselves could not heal. These Kenites will receive damnation. Their sins remain because of their unbelief. Let’s go to his throne.

Father, we thank you for your word and ask that you bless all that love you in Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
