No one should come between you and God

MATTHEW 19

A great chapter today, so let’s get started and chapter 19 reads.

Matthew 19

Mat.19:1] And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;
[2] And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.

Again, many multitudes came and were healed. Jesus always healing, but this shows that many, so many that can’t be counted. He was emptying their synagogues and the pharisees were getting mad.

Mat.19:3] The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?
[4] And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
[5] And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

Man and woman become one flesh, with child.

Mat.19:6] Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
[7] They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?
[8] He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.
[9] And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

If any man tells you today that a divorced man or woman can’t serve the Lord, he is a liar. For upon repentance Jesus forgives all sins, or I wouldn’t be teaching. Not that I’m divorced, I am Not. But that I believe Jesus died on the cross to forgive all sin. And if any man thinks different let him explain Jeremiah chapter 3:8 to me. And it reads.

Jer.3:8] And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.

So, God is a divorcee. And those that can’t manage to get along, it is better to separate than live with hate. Back to Matthew and verse 10 reads.

Mat.19:10] His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.
[11] But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.

Meaning this is not for all to understand, but those that have eyes to see.

Mat.19:12] For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

Eyes to see and ears to hear. So, what does this mean? Some are born with this disability, (impotent). Some were made slaves. These slaves were in charge of the bed chambers. But some were given to the Lord, such as Samuel. We can give ourselves to the Lord also.

Mat.19:13] Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
[14] But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
[15] And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.

They had just learned in the last chapter not to forbid them, but maybe they thought that Jesus was just to busy right now. Nonetheless, Jesus taught us again that He likens heaven to the little children. And God is our Father.

Mat.19:16] And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
[17] And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
[18] He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
[19] Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
[20] The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

This man is pretty sure of himself, are you. Let this be a lesson to all of us who think we are perfect. We are not, neither is this man.

Mat.19:21] Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
[22] But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

The only sin, if I can call it that, is his sin was the tenth commandment which Jesus left off the list. He had money because of ill gotten gains. He coveted his neighbor. In other words, filthy lucre. But to have the opportunity to follow Jesus is what Jesus is teaching us today.

Mat.19:23] Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
[24] And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

God blesses his children that follow his word. This “rich men” are those that cheat or steal from his neighbor. Just because you see a rich man doesn’t mean he is bad, he could be blessed. This eye of the needle is a fun learning experience. The cities that were walled in those days had a large gate for merchants and people to come thru in the day time, but took a large group of soldiers to guard. But at night, they would close the big gate and they would have a small gate that two soldiers could guard. This is the needle gate. If a man traveling came to the city he would have to unload the camel first, then the camel would crawl on its knees thru and afterwards they would have to load the camel again to continue on. This is simply saying to get to heaven we have to unload our sins, through forgiveness, to enter.

Mat.19:25] When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
[26] But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Let us never forget this. But with God all things are possible.

Mat.19:27] Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?
[28] And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

In Revelations we see them. Rev.4:4 reads.

Rev.4:4] And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.

The twelve apostles and the twelve sons of Jacob. These make up these 24 elders.

We that are the Elect will also be teachers in the Millennium. So, all that follow Jesus in the flesh shall be rewarded.

Mat.19:29] And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
[30] But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.

From the first earth age to this earth age. Those that were fighting against Satan will be his elect in this earth age, those that fought against the Lord shall be judged first.

Let’s go to his throne.

Father, we thank you for your word today and ask that you bless all that love you in Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
