Today we begin in Matthew chapter 7 and it reads.
Matthew 7
[1] Judge not, that ye be not judged. 1Cor.4.3-4,
[2] For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
Judging others is a serious sin, because God is the judge and he doesn’t need our help. As it just said, what we judge others on, we too will be judged. We find in 1Cor.4:3 and it reads.
1Cor.4:3] But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man’s judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.
[4] For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.
Back to Matthew and verse 3 reads.
[3] And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
[4] Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
[5] Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
What he is saying here is how can you judge them when your sin is greater.
[6] Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
Jesus is talking about the word of God here. don’t pass it around to just anybody. Make sure they wish to hear it. And then plant the seed, because only God can make it grow.
[7] Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
[8] For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Pro.8.17. Rev.3.7.
Seeking, is reading his word and wanting to understand it. This is why I ask that God open eyes and ears. Lets’ see what Proverbs has to say about this.
Proverbs 8:17 reads.
[17] I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
And Rev.3:7 reads.
[7] And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
Saith he that is Holy, is the LORD. That it is He only that can open eyes or close eyes. Back to Matthew and it reads.
Mat.7:9] Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
[10] Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
[11] If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
[12] Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
Lev.19:18 reads.
Lev.19:18] Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.
The golden rule, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. But notice even the evil are good to their children. Our Father is much more abundant in blessings to those that seek him early.
[13] Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
[14] Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Don’t follow the world, it is evil. Instead follow Christ, narrow means disciplined.
[15] Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
These false prophets are church leaders. Calling themselves pastors or priest but are teaching falsely. Such as rapture or saying you don’t have to read the bible, we’re going to fly away. Check out your teachers, and if they are not teaching the word of God chapter by chapter and verse by verse, leave them and find someone who does.
[16] Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
We shall know them by their fruits. We shall know them by their works. Their deeds.
[17] Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
[18] A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Remember in the garden of Eden? There were two trees in the midst thereof. One Christ and the other Satan. Gen.2:9.
[19] Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
[20] Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Those whose works were evil are cast into the lake of fire. Lets’ go to Rev.20:14 and it reads.
Rev.20:14] And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
[15] And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
And by your works I shall see your faith. Back to Matthew and it reads.
Mat.7:21] Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
[22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
[23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
We will study about the 10 virgins in Matthew Ch.25 where 5 were wise and 5 were foolish. They made it right up until the 6th. trump where 5 were deceived. That’s what this is talking about here. Jesus would say in Mark 13:5-6, do not be deceived.
[24] Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
That rock is Christ
[25] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
[26] And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
[27] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
Have you heard his sayings, have you read his word. We put our trust in him but some don’t know his promises. It is written, and we will study it till he comes again.
[28] And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:
[29] For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
I would love to have been there. It must have been amazing. Let’s go to his throne.
Father, we thank you for your word, bless all that love you in Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
