Heb.5:1] For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:

Gifts is grace, and blood must be shed for sins. This was before Christ was crucified, because there are no more blood sacrifices for sins now that Jesus paid the price for all who believe on him.

Heb.5:2] Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.

Ignorant means unlearned. This pertains man to man , we have all sinned. Christ was the Lamb of God unblemished.

Heb.5:3] And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.

Speaking of the high priest, first he would make an offer for his sins, and only then after that, could he make an offer for others.

Heb.5:4] And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.

Aaron being the first high priest. Called and chosen. The brother of Moses and father of the Levitical priests. Mary being of the daughters of Aaron, whose father Heli was of Judah. Giving Jesus after the order of Melchizedek, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Heb.5:5] So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.

This is written in Psalms 2 and verse 7 reads.

Psa.2:7] I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

Find time to read all of Psa.2, it is why the heathen rage. Back to Heb.5 and verse 6 reads.

Heb.5:6] As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Let’s read all of Psalms 110.

Psa.110:1] The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
[2] The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.
[3] Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.
[4] The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

Melchi means King, Zedek means Priest or Righteous. King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Rev.19:16.

Psa.110:5] The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.
[6] He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries.

Rev.19:15 will be fulfilled.

Psa.110:7] He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.

This prophesy has not been fulfilled yet. Speaking to the Serpent in Gen.3:15. It reads.

Gen.3:15] And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

He bruised his heel when they nailed them to the cross, but he will bruise his head at the seventh trump. Back to Heb.5 and verse 7 reads.

Heb.5:7] Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;

Even on the cross Jesus prayed and suffered for us, knowing Psa.22. prophesied a thousand years before that this must happen. This word crying is G2906 and means an outcry (in notification tumult or grief). Never let someone tell you Jesus cried. What this said is Jesus through grief of the people he let out an outcry for the people to the Father in prayer.

Heb.5:8] Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
[9] And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
[10] Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The Word of God that became flesh. John 1:14.

Heb.5:11] Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.

Dull means slow of hearing, can you hear the word of God or are your ears closed. Pray to the Father before every lesson for your eyes and ears to be opened. He will hear you.

Heb.5:12] For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
[13] For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

Read it again if you didn’t catch that. For when you ought to be teachers, you need to be taught again. I blame the teachers who didn’t teach you with strong meat. Instead, they kept you at a fourth-grade level to make themselves look good when they themselves don’t understand God word. Let’s go to 2Tim.2 and verse 15 reads.

2Tim.2:15] Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

So important to check your teachers, are they teaching from the word of God, or are they just taking a verse out of context. Do they teach the meat of the Word or are they just teaching baptism and pass the plate. Get into the meat, study every word of every verse and find what God’s interpretation is and not mans. For man will deceive you. Back to Heb.5 and verse 14 reads.

Heb.5:14] But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Full age means mature. Exercise your mind with the word of God, read often and reread with tools to help you understand what it is that God wants you to know. He will open eyes as he sees you searching his word, but you got to want it. Let’s go to his throne.

Father, we thank you for your word and ask that you bless all that love you in Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
