Today’s lesson will teach us how to interpret Prophesy for the End Times. To do this we’ll use King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon as our example for Satan in these end times. Nebuchadnezzar or Nebuchadrezzar, both meaning the same. H5020 (Chaldee) “may Nebo protect the crown”. Several other spellings include; Nebukadnetstsar (or {retstsar} or {retstsor }) king of Babylon. 5 languages of the Chaldeans.
Prophesy, from the Webster’s Dictionary; verb transitive To foretell future events; to predict. Or for show. verb intransitive To utter predictions; to make declaration of events to come. In Scripture, to preach; to instruct in religious doctrines; to interpret or explain Scripture or religious subjects; to exhort, to teach.
To begin our lesson let’s go to Jeremiah 25, where we find our warning for these end times written. Beginning with verse 4 and it reads.
Jer.25:4] And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.
From righteous Abel to Zechariah, whom they killed between the porch and the alter, speaking of the Kenites.
Jer.25:5] They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever:
The prophets said return to the LORD.
Jer.25:6] And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt.
This is the LORD speaking through Jeremiah.
Jer.25:7] Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the LORD; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.
Making idols and worshipping them instead of God, breaking the first commandment. They have fallen away from the LORD and have sinned and not listened to those prophets he sent with his Word.
Jer.25:8] Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Because ye have not heard my words,
This is the reason for their captivity, they worshipped false gods or idols, and didn’t have the Word of God. Remember this verse.
Jer.25:9] Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.
Don’t overlook that Nebuchadrezzar is a servant of God. The king of Babylon is going to take them captive for their sins.
Jer.25:10] Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle.
We are waiting for the Bridegroom, Jesus Christ, and we are the bride. Christ is the Light, as for these sounds of millstones, we find in Matthew 24:40-42, and it reads.
Mat.24:40] Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
[41] Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
[42] Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
The first ones taken are taken by the Antichrist, we will keep working in the fields and at the millstones. We will keep working in the fields (the world) and we wait for the seventh trump. Back to Jer.25 and verse 11 reads.
Jer.25:11] And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
[12] And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.
Now let’s think about this for a moment, God will use Nebuchadnezzar to chastise his children for seventy years then as a prophecy for today. Is this the seventy years for the generation of the fig tree? I don’t think so. Let’s look at this seventy-year generation. We find it in Psa.90 and verse 10 reads.
Psa.90:10] The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
This says that the seventy is actually eighty years. With “by reason of strength” meaning God’s strength. But his children do not read his Word and are deceived (cut off) and will fly away with the antichrist. But Jesus told us that only the Father knows when the end of this world age comes. So rather it be 40 years or 70(80) years or the 120 years does not apply. The generation of the fig tree began in 1948, when Israel became a nation again, and does not end until all the prophecies of the end times come to pass. Mark 13:28-30 reads.
Mark 13:28] Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:
[29] So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.
[30] Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.
The nation of Israel shall not pass away, this generation, until all prophecies come to pass. Does not tell us which generation, but that this generation, meaning the whole of Israel as a nation shall not pass. Watchmen watch. Now, let’s go to the New Testament, who is this King of Babylon and who is Babylon. Let’s go to Rev.14:8-10 and it reads.
Rev.14:8] And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
“She” refers to the churches that worship the Antichrist, Babylon is H894 in Hebrew and means Confusion.
Rev.14:9] And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
This is the King of Babylon. To receive his mark in the forehead is to worship him but, in his hand means that they even do his works, they teach in the churches to Rapture.
Rev.14:10] The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
All that overcome are the holy angels. This is the cup of wrath, Jesus prayed for it not to be poured out in Matthew 26:39 “let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.” The Fathers “Will” will be done. Now let’s go to Rev.16:17-19 and it reads.
Rev.16:17] And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.
Pour out the seventh vial. The LORD has spoken.
Rev.16:18] And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.
[19] And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.
The Cup of Wrath is the seventh vial. And he will pour it out and it will hurt. Now, let me ask you where is this great city Babylon? I hope after all our studies you know it is Jerusalem, the King of Babylon is Satan, the Dragon, the Serpent, the Antichrist whatever name you wish to call him, he is the King of Babylon in these End Times. Jesus would teach in Matthew 24:15-16 about the King of Babylon. And it reads.
Mat.24:15] When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
[16] Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
Jesus just brought the Prophet Daniel into the New Testament (Dan.9:27) and says in Judaea, that’s Jerusalem, then says to flee. Why? because this abomination of desolation is the Antichrist. Let’s go to Rev.17:1-9 and it reads.
Rev.17:1] And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:
In Rev.17:15 we find these waters are the peoples and the nations.
Rev.17:2] With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
[3] So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
This beast is the Antichrist, this is the King and “She” is Babylon. Remember Babylon is H894; Babel or Babylon means confusion. The churches are deceived.
Rev.17:4] And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
Dressed in purple and scarlet is for royalty, fornication is put here for her Idolatry.
Rev.17:5] And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
We have the seal of God in our foreheads. They have the mark of the beast in theirs because they are deceived.
Rev.17:6] And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
She has the blood of the saints and those that witnessed for the Lord when they were delivered up to Satan to give their testimony for the LORD. Martyrs; G3144 in the Strongs, 1. those who after his example have proved the strength and genuineness of their faith in Christ by undergoing a violent death.
Rev.17:7] And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.
[8] The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
This beast is Satan, he only is sentenced by name to go into perdition. Eze.28:18-19 reads.
Eze.28:18] Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
[19] All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.
Back to Rev.17 and verse 9 reads.
Rev.17:9] And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
These are nations of the world that followed and believed on the Antichrist. They are the one world order that do the works of Satan and deceive the world. Now let’s go to Rev.18:4-5 and it reads.
Rev.18:4] And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
[5] For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
When the Elect are delivered up and the Holy Spirit speaks through them many will repent and be saved. Babylon is Jerusalem in the end times. Mystery Babylon are the churches that are deceived by the Antichrist and listened to traditions of men instead of the Word of God. Being deceived by false teachers in the churches today that do not teach the word of God but out of their own hearts. Teaching the Rapture doctrine instead of the doctrine of Jesus Christ. Mystery Babylon, the churches, will receive double the Cup of Wrath of God. Prophecies from the past are for the end times. 1Corinthians 10:11 reads.
1Cor.10:11] Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
I want to finish this lesson where we began. Let’s just read it straight through. Jer.25:4-12 and it reads.

[12] And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.
Understanding that prophesies are for us in the end times is the most important thing we can take away from this lesson. What is written in God’s Word will happen exactly as it was written. If you have eyes to see and ears to hear his word, then God can use you in these end times. Let’s go to his throne.
