In today’s study our titles are; Verses 1-12 The parable of the wicked husbandman. Verses 13-17 The question of tribute to Caesar. Verses 18-27 The question about the resurrection. Verses 28-34 The great commandment. Verses 35-37 The question about David’s son. Verses 38-40 Jesus denounces the scribes. Verses 41-44 The widow’s offering. Mark 12 and verse 1 reads.

Mark 12:1] And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.

Before we get into this parable, I want us to read Isaiah 5 and verse 1 reads.

Isa.5:1] Now will I sing to my wellbeloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My wellbeloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill:
[2] And he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.
[3] And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard.
[4] What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?
[5] And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down:
[6] And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.
[7] For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for judgment, but behold oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry.

Jesus did not bring this parable up for all to understand, but for the Pharisees and scribe’s sakes did he bring this up. This parable is said for this earth age which is the second.

Mark 12:2] And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.
[3] And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.
[4] And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled.
[5] And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.

Let’s go to Luke 11 and verse 50 reads.

Luke 11:50] That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;

The word foundation is G2602 from G2598 Katabole, the overthrow of Satan in the first earth age. The word generation G1074 means offspring. We are speaking of the offspring of Cain, the Kenites, that serpent’s seed.

Luke 11:51] From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.

It is the Kenites who have murdered all of God’s prophets from the beginning, those who were sent into this world to do the works of God. This will now pertain to you also, for we will be delivered up to Satan in the end times. This being a parable of a prophecy for the end times, let’s go to 2Chronicles 36 and verse 14 reads.

2Chron.36:14] Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the LORD which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.
[15] And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:
[16] But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.
[17] Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for age: he gave them all into his hand.

We see this parable is indeed for the prophecy of the end times, the king of Babylon is Satan, and he will come again at the sixth trump. Back to Mark 12 and verse 6 reads.

Mark 12:6] Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.

His only begotten Son.

Mark 12:7] But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.

Remember Jesus is speaking to the scribes who are Kenites.

Mark 12:8] And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.

They will cast Jesus out of Jerusalem and crucify him on Golgotha. Let’s go to Acts 2 and verse 22 reads.

Acts 2:22] Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
[23] Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
[24] Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

Back to Mark 12 and verse 9 reads.

Mark 12:9] What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.

In Matthew 21 it is written with a better understanding on who it is that is speaking. Matthew 21 and verse 40 reads.

Mat.21:40] When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?
[41] They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.

We see here that it was those that Jesus was speaking to that answered in verse 41. Back to Mark 12 and verse 10 reads.

Mark 12:10] And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:
[11] This was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
[12] And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way.

They finally figured it out that Jesus spoke this parable against them. Where was this stone spoken in scripture? Let’s go to Psalms 118 and verse 20 reads.

Psa.118:20] This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter.
[21] I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.

Speaking of Jesus coming with Salvation, the first advent.

Psa.118:22] The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.
[23] This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.

The stone is Jesus Christ and our Passover is based on this. In Egypt the great pyramid has no cap stone. We observe Passover because Egypt did not accept the LORD. Let’s keep reading here in Psalms.

Psa.118:24] This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
[25] Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.

Save now, Hosanna in the highest.

Psa.118:26] Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.
[27] God is the LORD, which hath shewed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.

Christ would be our sacrifice once and for all time. Jesus, that Light, means; Yahoveh’s Salvation. Blessed is he that comes in His name. Back to Mark 12 and verse 13 reads.

Mark 12:13] And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words.

The chief priest sent other Pharisees and Herodians to catch him in his words. They have here before them the Word of God, how will it go for them this time. The last time they left in shame. Now, these Herodians are government officials, we will see why they sent them also.

Mark 12:14] And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?

This is the sign of a Kenite, they will give great respect publicly to you, but inwards are plotting to catch you in a legal matter. Jesus will embarrass them again. The question is do we pay taxes to Caesar or not. nowhere in God’s Word does it say not to pay taxes, on the contrary, in Matthew 17:25-26 we find that Jesus sent Peter to go and find a coin in a fish’s mouth to pay his taxes.

Mark 12:15] Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.
[16] And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar’s.
[17] And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s. And they marvelled at him.

Give to God the things that are God’s. We find this in Deuteronomy 16 and verse 10 reads.

Deu.16:10] And thou shalt keep the feast of weeks unto the LORD thy God with a tribute of a freewill offering of thine hand, which thou shalt give unto the LORD thy God, according as the LORD thy God hath blessed thee:

Ten percent of your blessings. This means what is left after taxes, food, rent, bills in general. After all that is left, give to God what is God’s. Today, we give it to the church, to a church that feeds God’s Word to its congregation. Beware of giving to a church that does not teach God’s Word. Remember 2John 1 and verse 9 reads.

2John 1:9] Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
[10] If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
[11] For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

Before we go on, do not send tithes or love offerings to TheChristMinistries.org. What was freely given to me by God, I will freely give it to God’s children. For my blessings are not here on earth, but in heaven. Back to Mark 12 and verse 18 reads.

Mark 12:18] Then come unto him the Sadducees, which say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying,

Here we have it said, the Sadducees do not believe in life after death. Then why do they sit in the seat of Moses? It is because Satan loves the pulpit. We see this in our churches today, those who teach lies and deceive God’s children.

Mark 12:19] Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man’s brother die, and leave his wife behind him, and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

This is written in Deuteronomy 25, where we find a little more to the story, and verse 5 reads.

Deu.25:5] If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husband’s brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband’s brother unto her.
[6] And it shall be, that the firstborn which she beareth shall succeed in the name of his brother which is dead, that his name be not put out of Israel.

So, we see that first they must have lived in the same dwelling place. Second, the first-born child must receive the dead husband’s name, so that his name is not lost in Israel. This is called Kinsman Redeemer. This doesn’t matter, because these Sadducees do not believe in life after death. But we have here again, they are trying to trip up the very Word of God. Back to Mark 12 and verse 20 reads.

Mark 12:20] Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed.
[21] And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise.
[22] And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also.
[23] In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife.

As this is said to trip up the Word of God, let’s go to 1Tim.1 and verse 4 reads.

1Tim.1:4] Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

And in 1Tim.4 verse 7 reads.

1Tim.4:7] But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

The point I want you to know is in these end times, many will come in His name and teach falsely the Word of God. Back to Mark 12, Jesus will correct them in verse 24 and it reads.

Mark 12:24] And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?
[25] For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.

Do you not know scripture? This is written in Ecclesiastes 12 and verse 6 reads.

Ecc.12:6] Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.

In other words, when we die.

Ecc.12:7] Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

The flesh returns to the dust and the spirit returns to the Father who gave it. Back to Mark 12 and verse 26 reads.

Mark 12:26] And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
[27] He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.

Jesus quoted Exodus 3:6,15. Meaning, no one is dead as of yet. All go back to the Father for judgement, the first for which side of the gulf, as we see in Luke 16. (The parable of the rich man and Lazareth) The second judgement will be at the great white throne for judgement of the second death. This is the final judgement at the end.

Mark 12:28] And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?

We learn elsewhere, this scribe would be sent also to trip the Word of God up. This time we have the Pharisees and the Sadducees teaming up. Mat.23:34-35. This man is a scripture lawyer. Let’s see how Jesus handles him.

Mark 12:29] And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
[30] And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

Jesus is quoting Deuteronomy 6 and verse 4 reads.

Deu.6:4] Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
[5] And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
[6] And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
[7] And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Teach them to your children, this is a commandment from God. Now, Jesus just gave the first five commandments of God from Exodus 20:3-12, they are spiritual, a personal relationship with God. Back to Mark 12 and verse 31 reads.

Mark 12:31] And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Jesus now gives the last five of the ten commandments, Exo.20:13-17. These are civil, and tell us how to get along with our neighbor. All ten commandments given to us by Jesus in one easy and simple lesson. Let’s go to Romans 13 and verse 8 reads.

Rom.13:8] Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
[9] For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
[10] Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Jesus never did away with the law, he fulfilled the law and the prophets, Mat.5:17-18. Now, let’s go to Galatians 5 and verse 14 reads.

Gal.5:14] For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

But we learned here by the mouth of Jesus, God first and civil second. Back to Mark 12 and verse 32 reads.

Mark 12:32] And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:
[33] And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
[34] And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.

What did he mean by more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices? Let’s go to Hosea 6 and verse 6 reads.

Hos.6:6] For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

This is why Jesus would tell him that he was not far from the kingdom of God. God never wanted our sacrifices. He wanted our love and for us to know the Word of God. And this man knew the Word of God. Back to Mark 12 and verse 35 reads.

Mark 12:35] And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the Son of David?
[36] For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.
[37] David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? And the common people heard him gladly.

Jesus was quoting Psalms 110, we will find our answer there, Psalms 110 and verse 1 reads.

Psa.110:1] The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

Here we have a Psalm of David. Jesus will sit on the right hand of the LORD after his crucifixion until the second advent, the seventh trump.

Psa.110:2] The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.

He then gives us the second advent. Jesus will return with that rod of iron for discipline at the seventh trump.

Psa.110:3] Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.

Said here for his Elect in these end times.

Psa.110:4] The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

Melchizedek, Melchi is king and Zedek is holy priest. KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. This is how Jesus would say Abraham wanted to see his day. Gen.14:18.

Psa.110:5] The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.
[6] He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries.
[7] He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.

Lift up the head, fulfilling the first prophecy in the bible, let’s go to Genesis 3 and verse 15 reads.

Gen.3:15] And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

We see that in these end times we have two figs, the woman’s seed and the serpent’s seed. They would bruise Jesus’s heals when they nailed them to the cross. But at the second advent, we shall bruise his head, “Lift up the head”. This is the answer to Jesus’s question about David calling his son Lord. Back to Mark and verse 38 reads.

Mark 12:38] And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces,

These scribes and Pharisees love the attention of the people but do not love the Word of God. Let’s go to Luke 11 and verse 42 reads.

Luke 11:42] And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?
[43] Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

We learned in Matthew 16 about these doctrines of false teachers in verse 7, and it reads.

Mat.16:7] And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread.
[8] Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?
[9] Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
[10] Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
[11] How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?
[12] Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

Back to Mark 12 and Jesus continues, verse 39 reads.

Mark 12:39] And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts:
[40] Which devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation.

Going back to the teaching of Jesus when they talked about giving to Caesar what is Caesar and to God what is Gods. The temple was supposed to take care of the widows, the fatherless and the poor. But instead of taking care of them, they robbed the widows. Watch how Jesus teaches, now he will bring up the widow’s gift to the LORD.

Mark 12:41] And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.

I love how Jesus will observe then correct what it is that he witnesses.

Mark 12:42] And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
[43] And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:

Paul taught us in 2Corinthians 8 and verse 13 reads.

2Cor.8:13] For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened:
[14] But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality:
[15] As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack.

Back to Mark 12 and verse 44 reads.

Mark 12:44] For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

This poor widow, not being taken care of by the temple, as they were to do, but with faith, gave all she had to God. Never let a beggar talk you out of money, saying it is for God. Check their doctrine, if they do not teach God’s Word chapter by chapter and verse by verse, they are not of God. Let’s go to his throne.

Father, we thank you for your word and ask that you bless all that love you in Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
