Before we begin, we must first understand 1Cor.10:11 and it reads.
1Cor.10:11] Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
Let’s break this down. All these things, means all that is written in the Old Testament. Ensamples is old English for examples, so all the Old Testament was written as an example for our admonition, our knowledge, for “the end of the world”, this earth age. Now, with that we can begin our study in Noah’s Flood. First, we need to understand Jesus spoke of this when asked “How will it be when you return at the end”. Let’s go to Matthew 24 and begin with verse 37 and it reads.
Mat.24:37] But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
His coming will be like the days of Noe, that’s Greek for Noah. Now we see what Paul meant by “Examples” for us in the end times.
Mat.24:38] For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
Eating and drinking and given to marriage? With whom? With the fallen angels, we will go there in a minute.
Mat.24:39] And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
The second advent, the coming of Jesus Christ or the seventh trump. They will be caught unawares. Do not be one of them taken by the Antichrist. Now that we know this warning from Jesus, we need to find the reason for the flood. Let’s go to Genesis chapter 6 and it reads.
Gen.6:1] And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
[2] That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
These sons of God are the fallen angels. This would be their first attempt to corrupt the seed of the woman, Eve Gen.3:14. The second would be when they entered the land of Caanan, Gen.12:6. The third we’ll get to in a minute. Gen.6 and verse 3 continues.
Gen.6:3] And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
[4] There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
The giants became mighty men of old and renown, meaning they were spirits of the first earth age that the dragon took with his tail.
Gen.6:5] And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
[6] And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
[7] And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
[8] But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
But the fact that Noah and his children kept a pure generation, did not mix with the fallen angels, kept the LORD from destroying all on the earth. Had the fallen angels succeeded in destroying the seed line then the word of God would have been prevented, and Satan would have won. Let’s skip down to verse 18 and it reads.
Gen.6:18] But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee.
Man might break a covenant, but the LORD never will.
Gen.6:19] And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.
[20] Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive.
[21] And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.
[22] Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.
For sake of time, let’s skip to Gen.7:15 and it reads.
Gen.7:15] And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.
This breath of life is soul. Noah took all flesh, two of every race including the Kenites for they were purposed in Gen.3:14-15.
Gen.7:16] And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in.
[17] And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.
[18] And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.
[19] And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.
[20] Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.
[21] And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:
[22] All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.
This flood was brought on because of the fallen angels seduced God’s children and giants were born of them. And again, this breath of life is soul. But know that all of the giants and those that were polluted were destroyed.
Gen.7:23] And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.
[24] And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.
Now Gen.8:2 reads.
Gen.8:2] The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;
[3] And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated.
These 150 days are very important for us in these end times. For it is prophesied in Daniel that the tribulation of the end times will be for a week,7 years, and that Desolator, Satan, would come in the middle of the week, or 3 ½. years. Let’s go back to Mark 13:19-20 and it reads.
Mark 13:19] For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.
Speaking of the tribulation of the Antichrist.
Mark 13:20] And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect’s sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
So, we see here Jesus has shortened the days of tribulation, for the elect’s sake. Let’s go to Revelations and read 9:4-5 and it reads.
Rev.9:4] And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.
We have the seal of God in our foreheads. We have the truth that Satan comes before Jesus.
Rev.9:5] And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.
Now we can understand Noah’s Flood. Jesus told us in Matthew 24:37 it would be just like the days of Noah, not only the fallen angels but also of the time line, five months or 150 days. We need to talk about these fallen angels a little more now. Let’s go to Jude and read verse 6.
Jude 6] And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
They broke the law and refused to be born of woman and came and seduced her. In 2Peter 2:4 it reads.
2Pet.2:4] For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
[5] And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
But where does it say these angels will be coming back? Let’s go to Rev.12:7-9 and it reads.
Rev.12:7] And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
[8] And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
Kept in darkness until the day of judgement.
Rev.12:9] And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Jesus warned us in Mat.24 that it would be just like in the days of Noah. That they would be giving and taking in marriage. We know that our marriage is to the Lamb. And we know we will not be deceived, not like the five virgins of Mat.25 that were foolish and took no oil, had no truth. But we, being Gods elect, will stand against Satan and his angels and give the testimony of Jesus Christ. We know that Satan is the only one by name that is consumed by our LORD (Eze.28). But, these 7,000, die at the 7th trump when the true Christ returns. Let’s finish this lesson in Rev.11 and verse 13 reads.
Rev.11:13] And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
These were kept in darkness until the day of Judgement. Until all of God’s word would come to pass. Let’s go to his throne.
Father, we thank you for your word and ask that you bless all that love you in Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
