Transfigured

Only four people in the flesh have never seen corruption. Of course, Jesus but also Enoch, Moses, and Elijah.

But we’ll cover the three latter ones today. For they have purpose for the end times. The Lord loved them, and has a plan. So, let’s get started with the first, and that’s Enoch. We first find his name in the generations of Adam in Genesis 5:18. And it reads.

Gen.5:18] And Jared lived an hundred sixty and two years, and he begat Enoch:
[19] And Jared lived after he begat Enoch eight hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
[20] And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years: and he died.
[21] And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:
[22] And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
[23] And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:
[24] And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

Enoch was transfigured, and taken without seeing death of the flesh. Or seeing “no corruption”. But why? For this we find in Hebrews, and chapter 11:5 reads.

Heb.11:5] By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

Pleasing God is what we should all want to do. Enoch was in the time of the fallen angels. He was teaching the seed line of Adam not to mix with the fallen angels. Remember chapter 6 of Genesis, they came to corrupt the seed that Christ would come from. This would bring on Noah’s flood. We called that the first influx. The second influx happened in chapter 14 and they would go into the land of the Canaanites. Where Gods plan for Israel would take place. And giants are the offspring of them. There will be a third influx, at the sixth trump, Satan with his 7,000 fallen angels. We find in Jude more information on Enoch, and it reads.

Jude 1:14] And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
[15] To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

This is what Enoch prophesied about. Do you think his prophesy would pertain to himself? Let’s read Rev. 2:12-13 and it reads.

Rev.2:12] And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges;
[13] I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan’s seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.

To understand Antipas, we look into the Greek. Antipas is G493. And comes from two words anti and pas. G473, instead of, and G3962 a father. Just like Antichrist is “instead of Christ”, Antipas is “instead of Father”. We notice that he is made a Martyr and he dies. And was where Satan dwelleth, at the sixth trump. For this reason, I believe Antipas is indeed Enoch. And Enoch is killed here, just before the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Now let’s go to the next two that were transfigured, Mose and Elijah. We know that Moses was the “law giver.” And Elijah was the prophet of prophets. So, let’s go to Matthew 17 and it reads

Mat.17:1] And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
[2] And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
[3] And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.
[4] Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
[5] While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
[6] And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.
[7] And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.
[8] And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.
[9] And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.
[10] And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come?

Obviously, Moses and Elijah were there to comfort Jesus. Angels are Gods messengers and brought him a message from the Father. And of course that is something we’ll never know. For it is not written. You can read 2Kings and find how Elijah was taken in front of Elisha. By way of a whirlwind. But for this study let’s find how the two will work together for the end times. And we find them in Zechariah 4 and it reads.

Zec.4:1] And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep,
[2] And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof:
[3] And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.
[4] So I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord?
[5] Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
[6] Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
[7] Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.
[8] Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
[9] The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you.
[10] For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.
[11] Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?
[12] And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?
[13] And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
[14] Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the LORD of the whole earth.

So, they feed God’s elect truth in the end times, is what this is saying. The oil represents truth. We need not worry in these times God is always faithful to those that love him. Now we finish with the two witnesses in Revelations and it reads.

Rev.11:3] And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
[4] These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
[5] And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
[6] These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
[7] And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
[8] And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
[9] And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
[10] And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
[11] And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
[12] And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
[13] And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
[14] The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.

And they are slain by Satan. But after 3 days they are spiritually risen. And the 7th.trump sounds and the true Christ returns and all are turned in a blink of an eye to our spiritual bodies. And the millennium begins. Their jobs are done. And ours begin. Another study for another day. Let’s go to his throne.

Father, we thank you for your word and for your perfect plan. In Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
