Romans 10 and verse 1 reads.

Rom.10:1] Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.

We know that the house of Israel and the house of Judah are split, I believe this is written for Jacob. (Israel)

Rom.10:2] For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

Let’s read proverbs 1:7.

Pro.1:7] The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Back to Romans and verse 3 reads.

Rom.10:3] For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

From Christ we have Grace.

Rom.10:4] For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

Through Christ we overcome with repentance. Let’s remember Mat.5:17-18 and it reads.

Mat.5:17] Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
[18] For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Christ came to fulfill the law and the prophets. Back to Romans and verse 5 reads.

Rom.10:5] For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
[6] But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)

God gave us his Word to teach us the law and the prophets, and now through Jesus we have Faith that saves us and not the blood ordinance.

Rom.10:7] Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)

This is written in Deuteronomy 30:11.

Deu.30:11] For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.

Just around the corner.

Deu.30:12] It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

It was Christ (the Messiah), that would do it. Back to Romans and verse 8 reads.

Rom.10:8] But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
[9] That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

This is baptism. That he died and was raised again from the dead.

Rom.10:10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

That repentance gives us salvation.

Rom.10:11] For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Unlike those that worship the antichrist at the 6th trump in ignorance.

Rom.10:12] For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
[13] For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

All those that confess that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Rom.10:14] How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
[15] And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

A great privilege to serve the Lord, and to feed his sheep. Let’s read Isa.52:7-8.

Isa.52:7] How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
[8] Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.

Back to Romans and verse 16 reads.

Rom.10:16] But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

This is Isaiah 53:1-5 let’s read.

Isa.53:1] Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
[2] For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

The most beautiful of all.

Isa.53:3] He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
[4] Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
[5] But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

It is amazing to know that Christ not only prophesied in the old testament but his crucifixion also was for told  long ago. Back to Romans and verse 17 reads.

Rom.10:17] So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
[18] But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.

His word was sent throughout the world.

Rom.10:19] But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.

Speaking of Jeshurun in the song of Moses, Deu.32:21. Where Israel is short, fat and happy, they forget God when they are blessed.

Rom.10:20] But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.

Talking about Isaiah 65:1-5 let’s read.

Isa.65:1] I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name.
[2] I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts;
[3] A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick;
[4] Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine’s flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;
[5] Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.

Knowing what God thinks about swine. But finding where it is written is very important because it gives us more information. Back to Romans and verse 21 reads.

Rom.10:21] But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

Israel, Jacob, has always been a rebellious nation. We can’t seem to get it right. I say “Come back to him.”. Let’s go to his throne.

Father, we thank you for your word and ask that you bless all that love you in Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
