In today’s study our titles are; Verses 1-2 The Pharisees and scribes murmur against Jesus. Verses 3-7 The parable of the lost sheep. Verses 8-10 The parable of the lost coin. Verses 11-32 The parable of the lost son. Before we get started with today’s lesson let’s look at this word Parable. G3850 parabolē pronounced par-ab-ol-ay’. And means; A similitude. a. a comparing, comparison of one thing with another, likeness, similitude. b. an example by which a doctrine or precept is illustrated. c. a narrative, fictitious but agreeable to the laws and usages of human life, by which either the duties of men or the things of God, particularly the nature and history of God’s kingdom are figuratively portrayed. d. a parable: an earthly story with a heavenly meaning. With that let’s go first to Matthew 13 and verse 9 reads.
Mat.13:9] Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
[10] And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
[11] He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
[12] For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
[13] Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
[14] And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
Prophesied in Isaiah 6:9. Interestingly in verse 8 of Isa.6 he sent out his chosen one Isaiah. Sent, a chosen one, an Elect.
Mat.13:15] For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
[16] But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
We see here that these parables are for God’s Elect to hear and understand. In 1Corinthians 10:11 we learn that all these things are examples for us in these end times. As Jesus says in Matthew 13 and verse 34 reads.
Mat.13:34] All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:
[35] That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.
The word foundation is Katabole, H2598 The overthrow of Satan in the first earth age. And says also in verse 35 have been kept secret, given only to his Elect. We needed to start this lesson in Luke 15 for that very reason. Now, Luke 15 and verse 1 reads.
Luke 15:1] Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.
[2] And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.
These Pharisees and scribes murmured against God. This sounds like our churches today. TheChristMinistries.org. is proud to see what the internet says about our church, they say we are not mainstream. Who would want to be mainstream in these times, when the whole world is deceived. Now comes a parable, remember this is written for God’s Elect to understand.
Luke 15:3] And he spake this parable unto them, saying,
[4] What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
Remember a parable is a similitude, we are to be Christ like. Peter would tell us in 1Peter 2 and verse 21 reads.
1Pet.2:21] For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
[22] Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
Christ is the only one to come through the flesh without sin. The reason we teach Christ crucified.
1Pet.2:23] Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
[24] Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
[25] For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
Jesus Christ is our Shepherd and Bishop of our souls. Back to Luke 15 and verse 5 reads.
Luke 15:5] And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
[6] And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
Let’s go back to 1Peter 2 and verse 10 reads.
1Pet.2:10] Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
This lost sheep that was found has come back to the Father. What Peter just said should remind you of Ammi and Lo Ammi. My people, Ammi. Not my people Lo Ammi. Hosea 2, that study is for God’s Elect in these end times. They go into captivity but come out of captivity just in time for the second advent. I highly recommend Hosea 2 for an in-depth study in God’s Word. Back to Luke 15 and verse 7 reads.
Luke 15:7] I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
The angels of heaven sing with great joy for one who repents of his sins. We see these parables are meant for God’s Elect to understand. We are to seek our brothers and sisters and bring them back to our Father. These are great works for the LORD that reap great rewards in heaven. Another parable, let’s read it carefully. Verse 8 reads.
Luke 15:8] Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?
[9] And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.
[10] Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
A lot was given for the Elect in verse 8. First notice that we are considered as valuable as silver. Knowing that our God is a consuming fire, Heb.12:29, he refines his children, and cleanses us of our sins on repentance. Let’s go to Proverbs 25 and verse 4 reads.
Prov.25:4] Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer.
A vessel fit to serve the LORD. But if that silver becomes tarnished and falls away from the LORD, then we are to seek them out and bring them back to the LORD. Notice it says we, the Elect, are to light a candle and seek after the lost piece of silver. Jesus Christ is the Light, a candle we do not hide. And the lost piece of silver, or the lost sheep, shall see that Light and return to the Father. This is not talking about those who do not love the LORD, but those who do love the LORD. Never cast your pearls before swine. Back to Luke 15, another parable for God’s Elect to understand, and verse 11 reads.
Luke 15:11] And he said, A certain man had two sons:
[12] And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.
This was not all that they owned, but rather the portion of their cash on hand so to speak. Now, this prodigal son represents the 144,000 of God’s Elect that come out of confusion just in time before Jesus’s return at the seventh trump. The son that stays represents the very Elect of God, these are the seven thousand that will never bow a knee to Satan. Open eyes and ears to your Word LORD, we pray in Jesus’s precious name, Amen. Verse 13 continues.
Luke 15:13] And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
Some of God’s children think they can live among the world. God says he has chosen us out of this world. That means, we are not of this world, let’s go to James 4 and verse 4 reads.
James 4:4] Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
Now let’s go to John 17, what I call the true LORD’s Prayer, and verse 14 reads.
John 17:14] I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
[15] I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
[16] They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
[17] Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
[18] As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
Let’s go to John 15 and verse 18 reads.
John 15:18] If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
[19] If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
These parables are for God’s Elect to fully understand. Now, this son that leaves his father will suffer a type of tribulation, as do the 144,000 in the end times. Back to Luke 15 and verse 14 reads.
Luke 15:14] And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
Let’s go to Amos 8 and verse 11 reads.
Amos 8:11] Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
John 17:17; Thy Word is Truth. It is God’s Word that we seek and teach others to bring them back to the LORD. Back to Luke 15 and verse 15 reads.
Luke 15:15] And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
[16] And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
He hungered for the Truth. Let’s go to Matthew 5 and verse 6 reads.
Mat.5:6] Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Back to Luke 15 and verse 17 reads.
Luke 15:17] And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
We are well fed and filled with the Word of God.
Luke 15:18] I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
All these parables given here in Luke 15 are for God’s children to repent and come back to him. Remember how the angels sing in heaven for just one who is lost and repents, he is found.
Luke 15:19] And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
Is this not all of us who sin, the guilt is sometimes unbearable. Remember this when a brother that you have found and through your good works has been brought back to the Father. But the Father is righteous, and on repentance our sins are blotted out as if they never happened. Now, hear with ears to hear the compassion of God for his children.
Luke 15:20] And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
[21] And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
We have all been here at this point of confession to our heavenly Father. Let’s go to Psalms 51 and verse 1 reads.
Psa.51:1] Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
[2] Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
[3] For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
[4] Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
[5] Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
[6] Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
[7] Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
[8] Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
[9] Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
[10] Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
[11] Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
[12] Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
[13] Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
The job of an Elect is to search his Word, study his Word, then teach others his Word so that all may come to repentance that love the LORD. This is the job of a servant to his LORD. I pray you hear “Job well done my good and faithful servant.” Back to Luke 15 and verse 22 reads.
Luke 15:22] But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
The best robe is woven from our righteous acts, our works, and called our fine linen that we wear in heaven. This ring is a signet, given for authority to God’s Elect. The shoes are to take the gospel to the world and save others that love the LORD.
Luke 15:23] And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
[24] For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
He was spiritually dead. He was deceived and worshipped the antichrist but has repented and has come back to the LORD. Now we come to the brother that never left the Father, and had served him from the first earth age, and was chosen out of this world. They are called his Very Elect, the seven thousand. One of these brothers are you, I pray after studying this far with TheChristMinistries.org you are one of the seven thousand.
Luke 15:25] Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.
[26] And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.
[27] And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.
His brother, one of Israel, one of the 144,000, has come to repentance and now is Found. Compassion is a trade mark of God’s Elect, and we should all rejoice when one comes to repentance. After all, even the angels rejoice.
Luke 15:28] And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.
[29] And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
This son wouldn’t even go into the house of the LORD because he was so angry. This anger is unacceptable to the LORD. Jesus teaches very compassionately the love of our Father. This son said you never gave me a kid. Spoiled brat, he gave you the Lamb of God, didn’t he? And did not the Lamb of God say feed My sheep? This reminds me of the parable of the vineyard, when the Elect were chosen and started very early and were mad that those who started late received the same wages as they did. Do not be like this son with anger, but rejoice that one has come to repentance.
Luke 15:30] But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
Let’s go to Proverbs 29 and verse 2 reads.
Prov.29:2] When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
[3] Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.
Did not this lost son spend his substance, and now has come to repentance. Now, the love of the Father to all of his Elect. Back to Luke 15 and verse 31 reads.
Luke 15:31] And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
All that he has is yours. Let’s go to Ezekiel 44 and verse 28 reads.
Eze.44:28] And it shall be unto them for an inheritance: I am their inheritance: and ye shall give them no possession in Israel: I am their possession.
The Elect shall receive no land for an inheritance for God himself is their inheritance. That is everything under the sun is yours. What an awesome promise from God to his Elect. Let’s go to 1Peter 1 and verse 4 reads.
1Pet.1:4] To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
To you, that would be God’s Elect.
1Pet.1:5] Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
To be revealed in the last days, God’s Very Elect, to those Elect (144,000) at or during the sixth trump. Great responsibilities are rewarded with great rewards. Back to Luke 15 and verse 32 reads.
Luke 15:32] It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
Rejoice as the angels in heaven when a brother comes to repentance. For they are our brothers and sisters that we have planted seeds with. When we are delivered up to the synagogue of Satan and the Holy Spirit speaks through us, these are those that hear and repent, and are saved by the Lord God Almighty. Let’s go to his throne.
