This chapter will cover false prophets and false teachers that have corrupted our churches then and today. 2Pet.2 and verse 1 reads.
2Pet.2:1] But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
Knowing that they destroy themselves, they want to bring as many as they can with them to destruction. Destruction is G684, Apoleia in the Greek. We can see Satan’s name, Apollyon. G623, The Destroyer, The angel of the bottomless pit.
2Pet.2:2] And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
It’s just who they are, and how they act. These are Kenites, offspring of Cain. They will be with us in the world until the coming of Jesus, and how they love to teach from the pulpit. Jesus talked about them in Mat.13, the parable of the tares.
2Pet.2:3] And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
They are damned and have chosen to die with their father the devil.
2Pet.2:4] For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
These are the fallen angels from Gen.6 that kept not their first estate, but left their habitation and chose not to be born of flesh, but came to seduce women. Breaking the law of God that all should be born of woman in the flesh. We find this in Jude verse 6 and it reads.
Jude 6] And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
Now they are with Satan behind the throne of God being held by Michael the archangel until he cast them to earth at the sixth trump. Let’s go to Rev.12:7-9 and it reads.
Rev.12:7] And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
[8] And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
[9] And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
The angels are cast out with Satan at the sixth trump, this is why Paul warned the women to keep Christ over their heads, because of the angels. 1Cor.11:10. Back to 2Pet.2 and verse 5 reads.
2Pet.2:5] And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
Noah was the eighth from Adam in the genealogy of Jesus Christ. The ungodly were the fallen angels and their descendance, the giants. That being the reason for the flood, to protect the seed line of Christ.
2Pet.2:6] And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;
Turning Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes was an example for us today, we can see it is long overdue.
2Pet.2:7] And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
Lot and his two daughters were the only ones to escape God’s wrath, Lot’s wife could not turn away from Sodom and was turned to a pillar of salt. Gen.19:26. But for the filthiness of their sins, let’s go to Jude 7 and it reads.
Jude 7] Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
Back to 2Pet.2 and verse 8 reads.
2Pet.2:8] (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
Lot tried to protect the two angels of the LORD from the abomination at the door, but could not and the angels had to blind them. All this is written in Gen.19.
2Pet.2:9] The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
Let’s go to Psalms 34 and pick it up with verse 16 and it reads.
Psa.34:16] The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
[17] The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
Back to 2Pet.2 and verse 10 reads.
2Pet.2:10] But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
They speak evil of righteous men set in high places by God. We can see them in our streets when someone who loves the Lord is set over them.
2Pet.2:11] Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.
[12] But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
Let’s go to Jude 8-11 and it reads.
Jude 8] Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.
2Pet.2:10.
Jude 9] Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
Let that be a lesson, never argue with Satan, just rebuke him in the name of Jesus Christ.
Jude 10] But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
[11] Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
They are Kenites, and do everything for ill-gotten gains, and perish for speaking evil of Moses the lawgiver. Meaning they do not the law of God. Back to 2Pet.2 and verse 13 reads.
2Pet.2:13] And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
But it was mostly a peaceful protest. The mainstream media today has become an abomination to the Lord. Prov.6:16-19 and it reads.
Prov.6:16] These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
[17] A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
[18] An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
[19] A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
He that sow’s discord among the brothers is the seventh and an abomination to the Lord. Back to 2Pet.2 and verse 14 reads.
2Pet.2:14] Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
They hate and are full of sins, they are easy to recognize because of their fruits. God gave us unction to see their spirits which are not of God. These include the false teachers in our churches today.
2Pet.2:15] Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
Full of ill-gotten gains. Remember the eye of the needle? Mark 10:25, Matt.19:24.
2Pet.2:16] But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man’s voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
The ass could see the angel of the Lord but Balaam couldn’t, and the ass spoke to Balaam and I want to go there. The ass just saw the LORD standing in the way. Num.22:28 and it reads.
Num.22:28] And the LORD opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times?
[29] And Balaam said unto the ass, Because thou hast mocked me: I would there were a sword in mine hand, for now would I kill thee.
Balaam is on his way to make money by cursing Israel for Balak. This sword that he wishes he had will be interesting.
Num.22:30] And the ass said unto Balaam, Am not I thine ass, upon which thou hast ridden ever since I was thine unto this day? was I ever wont to do so unto thee? And he said, Nay.
[31] Then the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face.
To see the LORD with His sword drawn must be an awesome thing to see. Of course this is Melchizedek. King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Back to 2Pet.2 and verse 17 reads.
2Pet.2:17] These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
As an old well driller, I know that a well without water is just a hole in the ground. They are void and empty, good for nothing.
2Pet.2:18] For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
[19] While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
These false teachers will bring you back under bondage, and Jesus told us, “The truth shall set you free”. John 8:32.
2Pet.2:20] For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
Speaking of listening to false teachers, they bring the church back under bondage and they are the more deceived.
2Pet.2:21] For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
Better if they had not known the truth and worshipped the antichrist than knowing the truth and worshiped him, because then they will commit the unpardonable sin.
2Pet.2:22] But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
Calling them fools, let’s read Prov.26:11.
Prov.26:11] As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.
