2John is a short book with only 1 chapter, but has a very important message. 2John and verse 1 reads.
2John 1:1] The elder unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth;
John being the elder here and the elect lady being God’s elect in these end times. By marriage, we are all the bride of Christ. We learned in the book of Ephesians about who are God’s elect, and when did he choose them. Eph.1 and verse 3 reads.
Eph.1:3] Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
[4] According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
This is speaking of the first earth age. Foundation is G2602 Katabole in the Greek and means; Satan’s overthrow in the first earth age, bringing in this second earth age. I have down a study on this called “The 3 Heaven and Earth Ages.” Notice that we were chosen in the first earth age, why? Because we stood with him then and we will stand for him now.
Eph.1:5] Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
[6] To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
His plan will happen exactly as it is written. Back to 2John and verse 2 reads.
2John 1:2] For the truth’s sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever.
John has already explained in the first epistle that God the Father, Jesus his Son and the Holy Spirit dwell within us. But he says it again here.
2John 1:3] Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
[4] I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.
Written in the gospel of John. John 8 and verse 32 reads.
John 8:32] And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
But what of this commandment from the Father, he continues and verse 5 reads.
2John 1:5] And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
This lady is God’s elect. The commandment from the beginning is that we love one another.
2John 1:6] And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
Now, we learn that love is “Walking after his commandments.” Meaning that love is the Word of God. Jesus is the Living Word. John 1:1-2.
2John 1:7] For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
Those who deny that Jesus is the Son of God are deceivers and an antichrist. Jesus taught us this in Mark 13 and Mat.24, let’s go to Mat.24 and pick it up in verse 3 and it reads.
Mat.24:3] And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
John was just talking to God’s elect (Lady) for these end times.
Mat.24:4] And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
[5] For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
[6] And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
[7] For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
[8] All these are the beginning of sorrows.
All these are the beginning of the labor pains.
Mat.24:9] Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.
For his name’s sake, meaning Christians.
Mat.24:10] And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
We just learned that God’s commandment was love.
Mat.24:11] And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
Many false teachers will be in our churches teaching them to fly away.
Mat.24:12] And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
[13] But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
[14] And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

2John 1:8] Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
Our works are the only things we can take with us to heaven, our judgements are our rewards.
2John 1:9] Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
And where the Father and the Son are there is the Holy Spirit. the whole GodHead is in us.
2John 1:10] If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
Do not bless them if they do not have this doctrine.
2John 1:11] For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
This is a very important thing to understand. Let’s think this through. If they do not have the truth and teach false doctrine and you bless them, you are a partaker of their evil deeds. For example; if you go into a church that teaches the rapture doctrine, and you tithe or give a love offering, then you partook of their evil deed. You are just as guilty as they are. Now, we have all at one time or another done this. Repent, shake the dust off your feet and do not go back. Many false teachers are in this world, we just learned to test them by their doctrine, is it the word of God or not.
2John 1:12] Having many things to write unto you, I would not write with paper and ink: but I trust to come unto you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be full.
[13] The children of thy elect sister greet thee. Amen.
John wants so badly to come to them and see them face to face. His compassion for them and us shows. Let’s go to his throne.
