No one should come between you and God

1Cor.2 and verse 1 reads.

1Cor.2:1] And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.

Not of my free will or as a great orator.

1Cor.2:2] For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

Christ crucified is what we teach Paul is saying here. let’s go to Hebrews 2:14 and read.

Heb.2:14] Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

Death is another name of Satan, the Devil. Back to 1Cor.2 and verse 3 reads.

1Cor.2:3] And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.

Humbled in spirit.

1Cor.2:4] And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

Boldly we are to teach the word of God.

1Cor.2:5] That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

This brings me to my favorite verses in Jeremiah, chapter 17:5-7 and it reads.

Jer.17:5] Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
[6] For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
[7] Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.

Cursed is he that trust in man, and blessed is he that trust in the LORD. So easy to remember, back to 1Cor.2 and verse 6 reads.

1Cor.2:6] Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:

Perfect means mature. Not worldly and learn who the Kenites are. They are in this world today.

1Cor.2:7] But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

This mystery is given to God’s Elect. Those who understand that Satan comes first and do not worship him but stand against him. I hope after studying with me that you too can be one of God’s Elect.

1Cor.2:8] Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

Speaking of the Kenites here. We must take time right here to fully understand. Jesus spoke to the Kenites in John.  We will begin in John 8:39-44 and it reads.

John 8:39] They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
[40] But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.
[41] Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
[42] Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
[43] Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
[44] Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

A murderer from the beginning, let me ask you who was the first murderer? Cain, and the seed of Cain are called Kenites. Remember Gen.3:14-15. Let us read.

Gen.3:14] And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
[15] And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

They bruised his heel when they nailed them to the cross, but he shall bruise his head at his second coming. Now let’s go to Matthew 13:24-30 where we find another place that Jesus taught us about these Kenites. Here he calls them tares.

Mat.13:24] Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
[25] But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
[26] But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
[27] So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
[28] He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
[29] But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
[30] Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

So, we see here that if you take up the tares you might root up some of God’s children with them. That’s why we leave them for the angels, the reapers. This is the mystery I hope you can now understand. Back to 1Cor.2 and verse 9 reads.

1Cor.2:9] But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

You can find this written in Isaiah 64:4.

1Cor.2:10] But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
[11] For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
[12] Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

This is talking about the gift of discernment that can only come from the Holy Spirit. And he gives it freely to his children that love him. Also, these two spirits are always at odds, think of the enmity put between them from the garden. Gen.3:15.

1Cor.2:13] Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
[14] But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Think back to the Tares and the Wheat. Two different spirits, one of God the other of that wicked one, Satan.

1Cor.2:15] But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

We discern and not judge, why? Isaiah 40:13-18 reads.

Isa.40:13] Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counseller hath taught him?
[14] With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding?
[15] Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.
[16] And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt offering.
[17] All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity.
[18] To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him?

How can we know what’s in the heart of God? But God knows the hearts of all his children. He alone is Judge. Back to 1Cor.2 and verse 16 reads.

1Cor.2:16] For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

And with that comes the gift of discernment. Ever wonder how you knew someone was not telling the truth? That is our gift from the Lord, let’s go to his throne.

Father, we thank you for your word and ask that you bless all that love you in Jesus’s precious name, Amen.
